    Publisher's Summary:
Anna Crestwood was raised with the strict beliefs of a religious sect nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. She's a lesbian with a ton of baggage - fearful, guilty, and alone. Very few things would compel her to leave the familiar. The job offer of a lifetime is one of them. Against her better judgment, she packs up and moves to Illinois. Unfortunately she's not there long before she's convinced that the devil is hunting her down.
Gabe Garst is a police officer. She's also a powerful medium. Her work with juvenile delinquents and ghosts is all that keeps her going. Inside she's dead, certain that her capacity to love is buried six feet under. Talking with and seeing the dead has always come easily, and yet for some reason she's not able to communicate with her late wife. She's grieving, depressed, and alone. Suicide seems like the best option. It's just a matter of time.
Anna's and Gabe's paths cross. Their attraction is immediate, but they hold back until all hope seems lost. As good battles evil, two tortured souls must engage in a struggle to overcome demons of their own.

Not good but in a wierd way.
This story weirded me out in a few ways. for one the emotional development was odd and disjointed. there's no sense of growth or progression it's just like bam over it! bam! love love! bam sexy time! and the phisical development was weirdly awkward. plus they kept forcing Evelyn into every part of the situation sex, intimate conversation, everything which made the awkwardness more aparent. it kinda felt like Anna was not just falling in love with Gabe. it felt more like she was being forced to assume Evelyn's place. Gabe pushed her to wear her cloths and basically told her that Anna was just like Evelyn in almost every way. if I were Anna I'd feel like I was being loved for someone other than myself. it was just strange.
    A unique romance
    Any additional comments?
This is KA Molls fourth romantic novel and a departure from her usual storytelling. Its at once tender and terrifying as southern belle, Anna, finds strange things afoot in her Illinois apartment. She soon meets psychic Gabe, who comes to perform maintenance on the place only to find the building haunted and the occupant haunting her every thought.
Molls characters are complex and damaged and a defining aspect of her writing is that she grounds them in reality. Like all good romances, love conquers all, but it is refreshing to see that Moll makes sure love doesnt do it alone. She uses love to drive her characters to seek the professional help they need, lean on friends, and begin the difficult personal journey they must take to reconcile their past.
Romantically, Moll teases to the point of torture. By the time Anna and Gabe consummate their love, were aching for it almost as much as they are. Until then, the plot weaves through a tapestry of personal stories that move the plot forward while providing a rich history for these modern day characters.
Haunted Love is narrated by Emily Beresford who has narrated over a hundred audiobooks and offers a soft, sweet voice that is beautifully suited to Molls style of writing. Her diction is sharp and she avoids overplaying the few sex scenes. Her characterisations are not always distinct, but when she adopts a southern drawl or vocal quirk, shes consistent.

    Publisher's Summary:
Connor Graham is a city boy - a celebrated fashion photographer in New York. When his uncle's death drags him back to the family blueberry farm, all he wants to do is sell it as quickly as he can. Until he meets his uncle's tenant farmer.
Jed Jones, shy and stammering, devout and dedicated, has always yearned for land of his own and a man to share it with. Kept in the closet by his church, family, and disastrous first love, he longs to be accepted for who he is. But now, with his farm and his future in Connor's careless hands, he stands to lose even the little he has.
Neither man expects the connection between them. Jed sees Connor - appreciates his art and passion like no one else in this godforsaken town ever has. Connor hears Jed - looks past his stutter to listen to the man inside. The time they share is idyllic, but with the farm sale pending, even their sanctuary is a source of tension. As work, family, and their town's old-fashioned attitudes pull them apart, they must find a way to reconcile commitments to their careers and to each other.

Don't be afraid of the religion - this is great!
Connor, a fashion photographer from NYC, is suddenly thrust back into a life he never wanted and in fact left years ago when his uncle dies, leaving him 1/3 of a blueberry farm. He wants to sell it, as does the rest of his family, and hes come home to do just thatuntil he meets Jed.
As a tenant farmer, Jed is very reliant on the weather and luck. . He believes in faith and it plays a central role in his life. He loves men and growing things, but his religion wont allow him to be his true, whole self. In fact, Jeds not unconvinced that loving men isnt in fact wrong, and he still considers himself a deeply religious man.
Right from the beginning the two men are attracted to one another. Chemistry is one thing, but true compatibility is a whole other ball of wax. One lives in the country, one the city, one is liberal, the other conservative, one deeply religious, the other not so much.
Is there any way on earth that these two can make this relationship work? Is it even worth it? Should they even try?
    **
Dont let the religion aspect of this story steer you away. Its handled so well. Vanessa North is an amazing writer and gifted at handling tough subjects like this and I think youll find she leaves us a nice middle ground.
Yes there are some stiff and uncomfortable scenes wherein we watch Jed wrestle with what hes been taught and what he feels to be true. But the religion aspect doesnt hit us over the head, nor is it vilified. In fact, the new pastor- Brenda actually steps up to help when nobody else can.
This is a story full of love, laughter, hot smexy times and oodles of feels. It did make me stop and think and doesnt ignore the true hurdles on the way to happiness, but in the end the best choices in life are often the hardest. And it has an ooey gooey Epilogue my favorite! that will leave you smiling!
I loved this book and highly recommend it!

    Audio
Tobias Silversmith is a relatively new narrator and Im not quite sure how I feel about him. On the one hand I LOVED his depiction of Jed. He did a great job with his low voice and the stutter. He handles the emotion and dialog parts of the story very well. I didnt love his choice of voice for Connor, it felt a bit too effeminate, and I didnt like his British accent at all, but I appreciated the try.

    Another Winner
The latest in the Madame Evangeline's One Night Stand series is a very good listen. The series is more romance than erotica and despite using a different writer each time the books all have the same theme and each one is well written. In this vignette a city girl manages to find the right girl for her working on a dude ranch and their 'one night stand' occurs in a sleeping bag under the stars. I haven't yet found a story in this series that I didn't like; I only listen to the girl-on-girl stories in the series so I'm not sure about those focused on boy meets girl scenes but the quality of the ones I've listened to indicates they're good listens too.
Beautiful meeting of a City Girl and a Country Girl. Love follows.
This is part of Madame (sorry forgot name) series of mystery one night stands that always seem to follow with two opposites falling head over heals for each other by the end of the story. Here we have a rich investment banker who pays for a one night stand with her dream girl. And is drive by a fancy car, champagne the works out to a dude ranch, to which she is both shocked and let down but decides to see just who her dream girl is, turns out it a beautiful but backward forehand who takes out to the Chuck wagon by horse for dinner, then tells her they are going camping for the rest of night. Instead of being put she finds herself curious and Goes along with each step past the point of no return. And well let's just say there more dates in future.

What a great short story of finding love for the first time.
Jay I secretly thought was lonely so when Ryan comes to work with him and his brothers its no wonder Jay starts to feel things.
I very much enjoyed that Jay took the control and even though Ryan confronted him he didn't lolly about and just told the guy look I have feelings.
The first kiss awe.... I love first kisses!
What a story of love an acceptance. LOVED it!

Story: This is the sweet story of a rancher, Jay, who meets and falls in love with a young hired helper, Ryan. Jay has never followed through on any feelings towards other men and is dubiously ignorant of even the basics of gay sex. Their relationship is sweet and very easy. There are a couple of points with potential conflict, but the conflicts are dispelled almost immediately. Neither Jay and Ryan are painted very fully, and I didn't get much sense at all why they were on this ranch (Jay owns the ranch, but it isn't discussed why he wants to be there). On one hand this means that their attraction and relationship seems plausible, because the listener can fill any details on their own. On the other hand a lot of the story seemed unnecessary as neither plot or character was central enough to make the outcome uncertain.
Performance: Derrick McClain did a good job injecting some emotion into the character's voices. The recording was also clear making it easy to listen to.
Overall: While I didn't find the story compelling it wasn't bad to listen to. If you like to have a gentle story on while you walk the dog or do dishes then this could be a good fit for you. Since it was so short it only took a couple of sessions to listen to it fully and after each session I never felt like I had to listen to what was going to happen next. If you are looking for something to fully divert your attention then this might not be for you.
One last note about sexiness: This story is heavy on the latent romance of being near someone, and less on the sexiness of cowboys. If you like a lot of exciting sex with romance then this book will underwhelm.

    Amazing (Ms) Grace
This is another amazing book by Ms. Grace. Michael was a lost soul. Originally from a conservative "Christian*" family, Michael is a bit broken and messed up from growing up in an at best misguided and at worst an abusive Pseudo-Christian home. He makes a remarkable journey of inward healing and a physical trek from his, home in Arizona. He discovers a good circle of friends where he is helped. He eventually discovers love and wholeness in the arms of Sebastian. This is truly a heartwarming novel.
    * I've put the word,Christian in quotation marks because religions that exclude and teach hate are in my opinion unauthentic. Religion should be inclusive rather than exclusive.
    disappointingly short
I felt like I had ordered a pair of pants from a catalog and when they arrived they were made out of gauze.
    A new beginning
Awesome book, it's never too late to apologise , forgive and move on to a better life. A beautiful story
    Wonderful sequel
Would you consider the audio edition of When I'm Lost to be better than the print version?
For me the audiobook is better than the print because it brings the more characters to life.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Has to be Mike, his character changes from one I didn't trust in the previous book to one I want to have his happy ever after with Seb.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The opening of the book where Michael apologies to Jamie.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but life and circumstances don't give me the time.

    Any additional comments?
This almost 5 hour audio book is light and fun.
Patrick, a college kid is spending the summer with a favorite brother Ben, the first couple of week the brother is on vacation so Patrick assumes hes alone with the brothers cat. Once he gets to the brothers home he realizes that the brother has set him up, and the brothers BBF is also staying for the summer. This is the same guy that Patrick has had a crush on for most of his young adult life.
Will is a few years older than Patrick, just broke up with his boyfriend and is living with his BBF until his new place is ready. Hes always knew Patrick had a crush on him but they never acted for several reasons. One of which Patrick is the kid brother of his best friend.
Patrick and Will embark on a holiday fling while Ben, is away. little by little what starts a summer fling wants to turn into more but neither one want this. Or do they?
I wanted to like these guys, I really did. But I just couldnt. Patrick was too puppy like, too eager to please. Will was too self absorbed. Just coming out of relationship. They had there moments but over all just needed meld for me.
The narrator, seems to be the go to British narrator for any book based in that country. Dont get me wrong, he does a good job. But Im starting to get my stories/authors confused because his voice sounds the same for all of them.
    Great narration and sweet story
This is a low-angst love story with a bit of smexy steam. Will, being a bit older and wiser, has been burned in the past and is not as willing as the still-in-university Patrick to jump into a relationship. But sex Will just cant resists Patricks adoration, so he sets Patrick up as a friends-with-benefits scenario in the hopes of keeping him at arms length.
Since Patrick is already feeling things for Will, this plan is set up to fail, and when Patrick does ask for more everyone is feeling hurt and heartbroken including Patricks brother (Wills friend) for being caught in the middle.
Ultimately the story ends with a solid HFN and a happy enough ending and certainly Patrick deserves it, though Will Im not so sure. Will was mostly a jerk throughout the entire book and he didnt do much to redeem himself by the end. Luckily this is all sorted out in the sequel thus raising my estimation of Will by leaps and bounds!
I really liked Patricks character, he was earnest and sweet and besides the obvious chemistry didnt see how Will deserved his goodness.

    beautiful
I go through audio books like a bag of jellybeans. One right after the other. 90% of them in the lesbian fiction genres. This book was so moving I forgot it was fiction for a second. I am not a literary critic by any means and I very rarely write reviews but this story was too good for me not to say so. If you are a fan of lesbian fiction and like a good romance I can not recommend this book more. The performance was wonderful. Thank you for giving the lesbian fiction genres this gem!
Enjoyable romance from Across the Pond.
Would you consider the audio edition of Boundaries: A Lesbian Romance to be better than the print version?
Did not read the print version.
What does Jan Cramer bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
It took awhile for these American ears to get used to the British accent, but after just a few minutes of listening, everything was fine. There were a couple short sections where the sound levels changed, but not a big problem.
    Any additional comments?
I just wish the story had continued a bit longer, to share the experience of Elizabeth and Jan finally getting together, since we had shared all their other, more challenging experiences that had kept them apart.
Love is Always Love; Sometimes Sex Isn't Sex
Tough listen. All of the main care/love-interests have been through something or many somethings that cause them to reduce themselves to less than they deserve, because guilt, self-doubt,and other more reduced frames of mind, result in "settling". Half of the picture painted is of women who have a very bad experience with sex - sex that isn't just sex, and sex that has nothing to do with love.
I'm not sure how I feel about young versus older in a relationship. For myself, I *think* balancing history and/or experiencing it with age *night* be important.

The Intergalactic Star Pilot Academy has accepted Thierry Leroux into the elite class of sky year 2231. But the academy comes with a hefty price tag, and there's no way he, a poor Sythe orphan, has the credits the academy requires. Thierry's brother, Corbin, a high-class companion, suggests Thierry sell his virginity for the cost of tuition. It seems like a ridiculous idea, but it may be Thierry's only shot, so Thierry asks Corbin to arrange a meeting on the pleasure planet of Wish.

Thierry is grateful to the masked buyer he knows only as "Dragonfly", and Dragonfly is gentle, making Thierry's first time a good memory. But in this game, falling in love is dangerous for the heart, and Thierry might not like the man behind the mask.

The first thing that surprised me about To the Highest Bidder is that theres a surprising amount of fluff and angst in it. Itsfluffangsty. Yeah, I just made up a word. Deal with it. The other thing that surprised me is just how invested I got in the story, the world building, and Thierry, Corbin and Monroe.
I listened to the first 60% with a huge smile on my face just really enjoying the story.
Corbin, Thierrys older brother, is a high-class companion who suggests that Thierry sell the only thing he has of value his virginity in order to pay for the tuition to an elite Pilot Academy. Thierry has only ever wanted to pilot a spacecraft and agrees, reluctantly, that selling his virginity to the highest bidder is the only way hell ever afford to do it.
Corbin approaches the owner of the brothel he works, Monroe, about auctioning his brothers virginity. A virgin is incentive enough, but because Thierry is also a Sythe, who are highly reactive to anothers touch leaving their lovers fulfilled and pleased beyond measure, Monroe believes Thierry will bring in even more credits than he needs. Monroe agrees to the auction, taking a 25% cut of the profits.
The auction goes extremely well, with the winner bidder requiring complete anonymity. The winner wears a mask, with only his mouth uncovered, and doesnt speak during their encounter. Thierry calls the man Dragonfly based on a tattoo the man has on his torso. The night is very special, with Dragonfly being a perfect lover for Thierry.
Dragonfly requests through Monroe, after their encounter, to keep in touch via letters with Thierry for an additional $1,000 credits per month. Thierry goes off to school and he and Dragonfly communicate back and forth. Eventually Dragonfly asks to see Thierry again for an additional $5,000, and Thierry eagerly agrees, not because of the money, but because hes fallen in love with Dragonfly. Thierrys enormously happy when Dragonfly admits he too has fallen in love with Thierry.
So, yeah super fluffy, romantic, and hot. Im swimming right along, enjoying the story thoroughly, big smile on my face and then BAM!
Oh. My. God. I did not see that coming. I mean, part of it I did, I totally called part of it, but the other part?
Nope, I did not see it coming and it BROKE MY HEART. Though it all works out, I was devastated and never quite regained my equilibrium with the story. So, yeahfluffangsty.

This series just gets better with each book. These characters were my favorite by far. I felt this book had a lovely warm and funny feel that I greatly enjoyed.
    sweet and emotional
    I enjoyed Marc Bachmann's voice
Quinn and J. R 's story made me smile
Review: Out of Frame, by Megan Erickson
Erickson continues to write great books in her In Focus series. Out of Frame was no exception. In fact, it was more enjoyable than I was expecting.
I wasnt too keen on the reality show and cruise ship aspects of the book, after reading the description. Those are just two things I dont normally have interest in. But, its a book written by Megan Erickson. I had to give it a chance, especially since I loved the first two books in the series. The two aspects of the book that I wasnt expecting to like may be the two that made this story as good as it was.
Being on a cruise ship, the characters were limited in where they could go, who they could interact with, and what they could do. Add in the cameras, fans, and script of a reality showyou get a difficult to develop relationship between two characters needing something good to happen to them.
I think if I went into more detail about why Quinn and J.R. were so great, and why I liked them together, this review would end up being too long. Plus, I want to leave readers with things to discover for themselves. Just know, like all Ericksons characters, theres a great deal of depth to them. Even the secondary characters. (Maybe Jess could get her own spin-off?)
Out of Frame takes to the seas for a road trip of a different sort. But it still continues on in a series full of memorable moments with memorable characters. Im confident that when I get to the 4th book, Overexposed, the magic will continue.
    beautifully written and narrated
Jess is Colins sister from book 2. Her BFF is Quinn, a shy, bookish ginger. Theyre both on Spring Break from their last year in college and both are determined to have a rip roarin good time.
They pick a cruise in which a crew of reality tv stars will be filming Jess has a crush on Casey from the show and Quinn on JR. But mostly they just want to enjoy spring break, regardless of what happens with the tv personalities.
JR has been stereotyped as an angry, straight, black man on this reality show and he HATES it.

    The Re-Telling of Sleeping Beauty
If you could sum up Waking Beauty in three words, what would they be?
Complicated, Modern Fable. It is the strangest, most complicated re-telling of Sleeping Beauty I have ever heard. The fact its between two woman hardly matters; in that it only adds to just one more of the many many complication that is keeping them apart. When all that is needed is just the magic kiss of true love, But getting true loves in the same room and on the same page, that is another matter.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Waking Beauty?
The end when Beauty finally wakes, and they have finally kissed, and finally look into each others eyes and know it really is true love. But I am a sap.
What does Hollie Jackson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Hollie Jackson is my favorite narrator, she makes stories seem magical, she makes you believe magic can be real for just that one second, her inflection is so well timed, and her voice so pleasing to the ear. And the way she can do more than one voice talking is just awesome. That is just some of the reasons she is my favorite.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A Modern telling of Sleeping Beauty- In a Coma and only the Kiss from True Love can wake her, not modern medicine.
    Any additional comments?
I know this was just a short story but I really loved it. It was full of trouble for our would be lovers, Police, jail, separation at ever step, as one is placed deeper into a medical coma, the other, taken farth away from her love in a comedy of errors and hate,- will true love ever be enough?
    Fairy Tale Love Story
This story has a harder edge than the other Madame Eve stories, it includes arrest, incarceration and assault. This is partially the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, the other part is that the reason behind the entire sequence of events is pretty much ignored in the aftermath of the assault. Other than those factors this is the usual great story from the Madame Eve series, the couple are lovable, the trials they've been through are enough to make them sympathetic to me. I've recently become close to a wounded female vet with PTSD issues, though for different reasons than Alex and I've seen the fear, the pain the loneliness and loss that comes with that diagnosis so this story struck a personal note with me. Given the premium our society places on a woman's looks, scars and lost limbs are particularly hard on the female veterans, i know they have been on my friend, I'm hoping to find a story on Audible that addresses this issue. As for this book, it's quite good, enjoy.
