    Lyza"s Story
I Love, Love , Love this book. I could not hardly put it down each night, i just wanted to keep reading so that i could find out what was happening with both the girls. The characters were as if i knew them personally. I love how Christianity was gently introduced but not forced upon you, was a very gentle introduction to what life is truly like . I cannot wait to read the 2nd and 3rd books as i am so totally enthralled with all the characters and so want to see the family all come to Christ. Well written book that leaves you wanting more and more! I am super excited to get the next book soon! This author is a must read!
    A must read
This book is a fabulous beginning to a wonderful trilogy. I recommend the set. I love the way the author unfolds the characters and you get to know each one. I couldn't wait to read the second and third books in the series after finishing this first one. The stories have just the right amount of Christianity. Love the entire Lane series!
    Great book!
See my review of the series in my review of Leesa's Story. This is the first of the Lane Trilogy.
    Insightful, beautifully written, inspirational
Lyza's Story is the first installment in The Lane Trilogy (the others beingThe Legacy: Book Two of The Lane TrilogyandLeesa's Story: Book Three of The Lane Trilogy). The author deftly crafts the main characters with detail, depth, and believability, wrapped up as they initially are in a lush material world of power, possessions, and prestige -- yet with precious little in spiritual awareness or practice. Gradually Lyza becomes better acquainted with her Jewish heritage and a loving God, Who nurtures her with unfathomable Love through an unforeseeable crisis and awakens her faith, opening her eyes to the true treasures in life which cannot be measured in the summation of successful business deals, bling, or designer fashions. Further, the author leads Lyza gently through an exploration of how her faith intertwines inextricably with Christianity and begins to explore how the belief systems are more compatible than one might initially think. I eagerly look forward to reading what awaits Lyza and her family as the trilogy continues!
Get this Book - It's Worth the Read!
Author! Author! Great read and the development of each of the characters is succinct and believable. We all carry the same viruses of greed, selfishness, hatred, vanity and searching for fulfillment at any cost. Lyza (the main character in this first of a trilogy) is the proverbial work-a-holic who strives to outwork, outsmart, and outmaneuver the men whom she encounters in her business life.

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 20 hrs and 7 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-13-13
    Publisher: Boneworthy Publishing LLC
Ratings: 1 of 5 out of 2 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
Two hundred years of fascinating people and events, The Flying Crossbeam is a "predictive fiction" that introduces us to Thomas Bennett, a man who, through sharing his own private revelation, unknowingly changes the world. Written as a listenable but scholarly treatise by a man in 2226, the audiobook describes a world of brutal reality and miraculous beauty.
Bennett's philosophy is that of the miniscule "now" which defines the entire universe and makes all things immediately accessible.
His revelation puts humanity on a new path of understanding and empathy. That day is accomplished, however, through great pain and hardship, a quiet revolution brought about in the suffering and heroism of many people over the centuries.
Listeners become intimate friends with about a dozen people in the course of the audiobook, and well acquainted with more. Listeners watch the earth's population suffer through war, famine, political and economic upheaval, and yet experience many moments of peaceful and hopeful reconciliation. Traditional religions are turned inside-out, and humanity rediscovers its heart and soul.
The complete list of narrators also includes Ellen Moore, Kim Stefane, and Mike Cutler.

    Short read
A good short book, although I wish there was a sequel. I was not ready for the story to end.
GREAT takes you back in time .
I really enjoy reading about how the people made it across our land and how that they depended on our God to get them through the day in and day out of their travels, great book
A very good story but a few loose ends left uncovered.
I would recommend it for light reading. In saying this it is a story with some truth as an historical story and much Biblical truth
    Very Good
I enjoy reading something that holds my interest and also dose NOT have words that you should not see ,say or hear.
    would recommend it to others.
    Eddie
I liked it but it wasn't as fast paced as I would have liked. Perhaps I have read too many about the Oregon trail.

    Title: The Stranger
    Subtitle: Amish Forever, Book 1
    Author: Crystal Linn, Roger Rheinheimer
    Narrator: Big Daddy Abel
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 21 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-10-13
    Publisher: Helping Hands Press
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
Ava Troyer never really considered the possibility of life outside of the warm, protective Amish community. Even during her state-mandated schooling through the eighth grade, she would dreamily fantasize about whether any of the other Amish boys in the history class right after lunch was going to be the father of her children, or if she would meet the man of her dreams from another state, an exciting possibility. But the wreck that killed her father and almost killed Ava, that early Sunday morning, at the hands of an all-night reveler, changed everything. The young man in military fatigues that pulled her to safety spoke Pennsylvania Dutch to her, but he wasn't Amish. Or was he? And how could she be so powerfully attracted to a young man about to go overseas to war, something she fiercely believed was wrong?

    nothing spectacular
Obviously my review differs from others who gave this book a 4-star rating. I gave 2-stars because it had nothing offensive or risque. You can safely read this on a boring rainy day. But, personally, I found it too "adolescent", too short with characters not deeply developed. The author tried to throw in too many uninteresting details to "set the scene" but they failed to interest me. I read lots of Amish fiction, but this left me just flipping pages to see if it would ever become interesting. Not my thing.
    good amish book
A good read, interesting story and kept you wanting to read to find out what is going to happen. Would recommend this book to others if they are interested in different cultures living together and accepting one another.
    a short gem
Yay! This is another good read. The characters and plot are nice. This was a nice, unexpected surprise. Read the others first.
    a read I couldn't put down.
This book drew me I'm immediately and I just couldn't put it down. That's why I rated it so high. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
    Unfinished
Unless I am mistaken, this book just ended in the middle of a conversation! Then there was a recipe and the author's thanks for reading the book.

Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
Folks often asked me where do the stories of Dusty and the Cowboy come from? The best answer is that I have been lost in this life. Too often I've ridden down the wrong trail. Sometimes, because I didnt know better. Occasionally, even when I did. Then one day a surprising thing happened. Without knowing why, I sat down and wrote the first draft of Dusty. The good Lord gave me the talent and the wanting to write. My desire is to have these stories help spread God's Word. If nothing else, it is to share a story told well to those who will enjoy it.

    More please!!
When I was a kid, I used to go to the movies on Saturday afternoons and watch American heroes known as cowboys. The good guys wore white hats and the bad ones had black hats--the good guys always won. They lived by a code of conduct that included respecting your elders, love of God and country, keeping your word, and a strong work ethic. Dusty and the Cowboy reminded me of those movie afternoons. The author paints word pictures that had me clearly seeing each believable character, feeling the heat, and tasting the dust. Each story has an encouraging message that is good for all ages. I hope the next book will be available soon so I can continue down the trail with Dusty and the Cowboy!
    Good Read
Great book in short story form that will have you wanting to read the next story.
Great Texas fun to be found here
    That was fun!
The "Dusty and the Cowboy" audio stories were a ball. It is almost as though these were written specifically to be performed. The narrator does them justice for sure, and I almost felt that I was there. The stories themselves are long enough to thoroughly engage the reader, but short enough to finish the whole thing in a commute. And thematically the stories are both entertaining and enlightening. Great Texas fun can be found here.
Good Read, ready for the sequel! Prepare to find your way home.
"Dusty and the Cowboy" written by T.W. Lawrence is a group of short stories that follow the Cowboy and his companion (the horse) Dusty in a series of situations that reflect the characters search for his place in life....a closer walk with the Lord. The lessons learned are suitable for all age groups and will leave readers with a desire to find and complete their own path/journey. I found that the Cowboy's search for one's self through our creator parallels my own search for Christ and self. I would definitely recommend the companion CD narrated by Moby. My only complaint (if you can call it that)is after completing "Dusty and the Cowboy" I found myself eager to read the follow-up book which is unavailable due to it is still in the works. Thanks T.W Lawrence for writing so close to my heart!!

    Great!
Just a passing glimpse of the cover on this collection should be enough to warm the heart. These stories are about much more than a man and his horse and T.W. Lawrence has created an ongoing journey that entices the reader to saddle up and ride along. Each encounter is formed with detailed imagery through exceptional writing. Cowboy becomes the reader's friend much like Dusty is his and, through his encounters on the trail, we often receive an open invitation for self examination. Lawrence gives us a chance to feel -- laughter, sadness, tolerance, hope, humility -- and to believe that, with faith, we can all know a better way.

    Publisher's Summary:
A prized Torah scroll is stolen from Ohav Shalom. The FBI determines the event to be a "Hate Crime" and initiates an investigation. But Rabbi Gabrielle unearths clues into the theft that lead in another direction. While intensely active in her daily rabbinical duties, her attention is drawn back 65 years to the origin of the stolen Torah in the Ukraine. The discovery brings this liberal rabbi into conflict with the powerful and well-organized Orthodox Jewish community in New York. Internecine warfare between Jewish denominations must be pacified before Rabbi Gabrielle can return to her post at Ohav Shalom.

Entertaining light read with poor editing and inconsistency of characters
The Rabbi Gabrielle series can be entertaining, much like a moderately good TV series where the lead characters get into improbable situations with even more improbable outcomes. This is not a good read if one is bothered by poor transitions in the multiple story lines, a lot of typos, and inconsistencies in the main characters. Roger Herst does a good job of creating a Rabbi with very human strengths and weaknesses, but he has major inconsistencies in her character that make her unbelievable and sometimes unlikable. In an earlier story she will not perform a marriage to a Jew and non-Jew. Yet she is perfectly willing to develop an intimate relationship with a non-Jew herself. She is obsessed with getting pregnant and when successful allows herself to get into a situation that puts her unborn baby at risk. In each story there are several descriptions of the Rabbis wearing vestments to all services. I wonder why Roger Herst makes this statement so many times when it is irrelevant to the story and not a standard practice except on High Holidays? Still, it is a fun light read and I will continue with the series.

this is the forth in the series and one of the best. Rabbi Gabrielle solves the robbery while juggle the politics of the temple board and pressure from unhappy parents. I am ready for the fifth and last book.
Rabbi Gabrielle Series - Too Many Mistajes
Like the previous books in this series, this one is fun, well informed and interesting to read. Unfortunately, and shamefully for Amazon, there is hardly a page without a missing word or others errors. No one edits?? The same happens with books 1 to 3. I found mistakes in other books but never so many or so often. Is the printed edition so poorly edited as well?
Each can be read independently but better if taken in order
Another one in a thrilling series. Each can be read independently but better if taken in order. Outstanding book.
    Rabbi Gabrielle Commits a Felony
I enjoyed this read...as always Gabbi gets into some interesting situations. I enjoyed reading about the Holocaust torahs since I have had the pleasure of seeing one and hearing it recited from by a factor. These are such a treasure to the entire Jewish community.

Has Some Nuggets . . . But Not What I Expected
As a pro-life Christian, I was excited to listen to Little Flowers . . . and in some ways it was good . . . but I have to say up front, this is a book specifically for Catholics . . . it would have been much better (in my opinion) without all the praying through the saints and trying to pray folks out of purgatory . . . there are enough points upon which all followers of Christ agree that the book could have written to be more centered on Jesus . . . a lot of time was spent on the story of the family, the pregnancy and the time leading up to the decision whether the child would be aborted . . . and then the end was rather hurried . . . I did enjoy the family values and the actual resolution was honorable . . .
