From the New York Times best-selling author of Chasing Vermeer and Hold Fast the Pieces.
Thirteen extremely valuable pieces of art have been stolen from one of the most secretive museums in the world. A Vermeer has vanished. A Manet is missing. And nobody has any idea where they and the other eleven artworks might be...or who might have stolen them. The Players - Calder, Petra, and Tommy - are no strangers to heists and puzzles. Now they've been matched with two new sleuths - Zoomy, a very small boy with very thick glasses, and Early, a girl who treasures words...and has a word or two to say about the missing treasure.
The kids have been drawn in by the very mysterious Mrs. Sharpe, who may be playing her own kind of game with the clues. And it's not just Mrs. Sharpe who's acting suspiciously - there's a ghost who mingles with the guards in the museum, a cat who acts like a spy, and bystanders in black jackets who keep popping up. With pieces and players, you have all the ingredients for a fantastic mystery from the amazing Blue Balliett.

    A Nice Change
Loved it. I needed something light, interesting and fun, this was it. I love mysteries, adult mysteries, but sometimes things get a little too gruesome for me. This was a nice change.

Awesome, very CLEAN adventure series of books for elementary children! (I laugh out loud, too!) A+++
My 9 year old son has read all of the books in this series. I read some chapters with him, because I enjoy the stories, too. They are super for elementary readers; easy to get my not-so-interested-in-reading son to enjoy. Fun adventures to follow. Leads us to discuss issues with parents & siblings, teachers, pet care, and school friends. Problem solving and social skills are taught with humor and love. Can't say enough about Humphrey books... I have been very careful in my constant search for appropriate chapter books for my son, and I am so very pleased that Ms. Birney has blessed us with these wonderful adventures!!!
    Humphrey books are favorite books
My grandson was introduced to the Humphrey series when he was in kindergarten. The books soon became his favorites. I buy him one or two of the books for every occasion. By this Christmas, he will have the entire series (to date). He will be very excited to get them!
    More Humphrey!
Another great book by Betty Birney. I highly recommend the Humphrey series for children 5 to 12. The books are very entertaining, encourage positive attitudes, and remind children to think of others ahead of themselves. A perfect book to share with your children in this self-centered world. My son has been reading and re-reading these books for years. I never tire of the either. Go Humphrey!
    Five Stars
    My child loves this book.

    Series getting better.
The beginning is a little confusing at first, but after that the story picks up and it is one adventure after another. Like the rest of the series it took me a bit to get into the story, but by the end I was invested and was thoroughly enjoying the story. I'm not a huge fan of a Eva and how both Jack and Daniel are so gaga over her, but it is a kids book and that is only a small part of the story. I'm not a fan of the narrator, I know that I would have like this book better if it wasn't for the narrator.
    A Movie would be scare
If you could sum up Jack Templar and the Lord of the Vampires in three words, what would they be?
    Interesting
    Adventure
    Action
What other book might you compare Jack Templar and the Lord of the Vampires to and why?
Percy Jackson Books. It has the quest, adventure, action, and monsters.
What does Ben Kass bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Ben Kass does a nice job of narrating but he sound older than 14.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Laugh. This is a fantasy.
    Any additional comments?
The characters are supposed to be around 14 yrs old. I have not seen the maturity or bravery the characters display in 14-year-olds. If most 14-year-olds faced the monsters in this book, they would be running to their mommies.
    Great book
Can't wait to get the next one. I bought this book for my son, but I love it as well.

    Very diverse
Would you consider the audio edition of Kinda Like Brothers to be better than the print version?
Since the narrator can make the audio I actually think this is awesome on audio, I would never had had the time to read it and the narrator was outstanding.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kinda Like Brothers?
There is a part where I think Jarrett says to his principal I hate to read, the principal says so did I now look at all these books. If you know me (dyslexic librarian) it is quite funny.
Have you listened to any of John Clarence Stewarts other performances before? How does this one compare?
No but would love too, he was awesome.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes to bad my comute is too short and boss wouldn't like it very much.
    Wonderful Coming of Age Story
Would you listen to Kinda Like Brothers again? Why?
Yes! I really enjoyed listening to the character development and think Coe Booth is a fantastic writer.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved the intensity of all of the characters, especially listening to how Kevon and Jarrett's relationship changes as the story progresses.
What about John Clarence Stewarts performance did you like?
I really enjoyed his character voices. I felt he captured the tone of the young characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It is a wonderful coming of age story that is definitely a roller coaster of emotions.
    Relatable Story and Immersive Performance
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! It's a real coming of age story. John Clarence Stewart brings the listener along with him through real dilemmas, real frustrations, real highs and real lows; all the while, the characters develop, valuable lessons are learned and some are missed. A wonderful read for all middle grade readers. Often times, young adult authors sugar coat things. They seem reluctant to express the realism of certain situations or they shy away from them entirely, leaning toward the magical, mystical, fantasy side of things. Not Coe Booth. Booth paints a realistic picture and Stewart brings it to life!
    Engaging Coming of Age Story
    Any additional comments?
A fascinating glimpse into the lives of two young men, Kevon and Jarrett, and how through their separate, yet both difficult, family experiences they learn essential qualities to become strong men. John Clarence Stewart's narration is engaging, a natural story teller he is, and he draws you into the story as if you were experiencing it first hand.

    Omg it's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is one amazing book and author
it's beautifully written and just will touch your heart.
the books Joan Bauer writes will change your life
    Realistic fiction brought to life
This book brings to light the awful problem of human trafficking, but it does so in a way that is appropriate for children to read. While I didn't like it as much as Almost Home, by Bauer, it was still a great read.
    Read now
I really loved the book. There was no part that I didn't like. Read NOW!!! I am begging you! Please
    Four Stars
    Enjoyed very much!
    Parents, Be Warned
'Tell Me' is not one of my favorite books. I would recommend that children ages nine or ten and up.
This book is about a girl named Anna, who goes to live with her grandmother Mim, due to her parents' unstable relationship. While Anna is in Rosemont with Mim, she sees a girl with scared eyes try to run out of a car, but the driver catches her and pushes her back inside. The book is mostly about Anna on the path to finding that girl.
The reason that I recommended what age you need to be to read it is because it talks about human trafficking; a scary concept for any child. So parents, be warned. To give specifics, it talks about women being held captive in a nail salon and salon and a man making them appear happy.

    Outstandingly charming
Would you consider the audio edition of Going Solo to be better than the print version?
This book made my day. The narrator is outstanding and the memoir is one of the best from world war and ofcourse Roald Dahl is a darling..
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author- This is his memoir!
    A terrific read
Great book, with an excellent narrator. I just wish Dahl would have talked about his spy days!
    just wonderful
just loved every moment of it. The narrator was superb. you never tire of Dahl
    Snakes, Boats & Dogfights
Roald Dahls Going Solo picks up where Boy left off, as Dahl heads to Africa at the tender age of 22 to work for Shell. The first part of the book charts his adventures just before the outbreak of WW2. As war breaks out, Dahl joins the RAF as a fighter pilot not a comfortable job for a man of 6 6 and he shares his stories of crash landings in North Africa and dogfights in Greece. Incredible stuff. Dan Stevens does a superb job with the narration, pulling off a wide variety of eccentric accents, suitably befitting of the oddball characters that Dahl meets along the way, and no-doubt used as inspiration for his, now famous, characters.
Dont be misled by the cover art or author, this is very much a book for young adults and up.
OMG WHAT IS THIS WONDERFUL BREATHTAKING STORY
I just can't say enough how much I loved the story!!!! How fascinating Roald Dahl's life is and how wonderful he is at narrating his stories!!!!!!! I love it I love it!!!

BOUDICCA: Beautiful, Dramatic, a Must Listen
I feel that "Boudicca: Britain's Queen of the Iceni" was an important book and a wonderful listen. She was a real living woman in history. She had ran away from the Aedui tribe where she had royal heritage and by chance met King Prasutagus. They married and had two daughters. Prasutagus wants to ally with the Romans for their weapons and power. Queen Boudicca doesn't want this.
The ending is quite dramatic but important. She and her daughters drink mead and this becomes their demise however, within the epilogue is an exactly perfect explanation.
This story is an absolute gem. For being a short listen, it's very well-written and wonderfully narrated. Laurel A. Rockefeller knows her history and is an excellent writer. I loved this book and look forward to more from The "Legendary Women of World History."
I thought Richard Mann was the perfect narrator for this piece. He has exact voice inflections and he fits in with the period. I can't imagine anyone else narrating this. He's a natural.
Audiobook received in exchange for an honest review.
    A perfectly lovely read!
Where does Boudicca: Britain's Queen of the Iceni rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I would rate it just as high as the longer books that I have listened to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love strong female characters like Boudicca. I think that our children should be exposed to more influential females from history. I like that she had her own personality that made sense with the story that was being told.
What about Richard Manns performance did you like?
I like his voice, which is very soothing, almost hypnotic. He pronounces the names well and the listening flows smoothly.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
One woman stands up to defend her people and their way of life.
    Any additional comments?
I was amazed at the ability of the author to get you invested in the characters and interested in the storyline in such a short amount of time. I will be giveing this book to my nieces to listen to. They love a strong heroine.
Excellent retelling of the inspiring truth
A woman, a queen, a warrior; Boudicca is the stuff of legends, but is real history. This telling of her struggles, joys, and heartbreak are inspiration to us all, and is clearly presented without undue drama but with the kind of personalization often lacking in military renditions.

    A Grand Scandinavian Adventure
Like all good frost giants, young Thianna loved a good game of Knattleikr. Gunnlodâs Plateau rang with shouts as the quick teen dodged her massive opponents. The frozen realm had been her home since the day of her birth. Yet all the frost giants, even the most foolish, could tell that she didnât entirely belong. She had the dark eyes of the southern people, and she was short. Throughout her life she longed to be a full-blooded giant and avoided everything that reminded her of her human mother, long dead. Shortly before the feast of Winternights, her giant father knew the time had come to give his daughter a gift. Thianna took the horn in her hands, knowing only that her mother had guarded it until her final breath.
As winter drew close, the frost giants trekked south to mingle with humans at the market at Dragonâs Dance. Not many humans dared to trade openly with frost giants. Korlund had come, as his people had for generations, bringing his son Karn. Both knew to stay close to the fires on the wild evening of Winternights. When Karnâs uncle drew Karn out into the woods, the simple youth never dreamed his uncle was planning his death. The treacherous man led Karn amidst the barrows, right to the corpse door, with its shining green runes binding the dead to their barrows. In the eerie light Karn awoke the dead, who vowed to hunt him down as he took flight through the dark woods.
In the grand adventure that unfolds, Karn and Thianna come together in the freezing mountains.
