Life giving truth narrated beautifully!

OMG!

This is one of the best written books on the message of God's grace and favor towards us. Although I have read GALATIANS many times before, Brian Simmons' The Passion Translation brings it to life and I see things I hadn't seen in the past. It stirs my zeal for the Lord and reminds me of his loving kindness and favor towards me!

Very informative book

I enjoyed listening to the book although the reader wasn't on my favorite key. I did learn some from the book but knew most of it. Hearing all the views at one setting was helpful, although I thought it spent a little too much time on the mid-trib view. Maybe because it's not my view... nevertheless I think, seeing most hold the pre-trib view more Time should've been spent on it. I'll listen to it again I'm sure.

The name is not correct!!

All it talks is about the mid tribulation rapture!!!

And that the church needs to prepare for suffering. Did not like it at all!!!!!

I'm familiar with the work of about half of the co-authors in this book. Excellent work from each one of them. Especially Tom Horn and L A Marzulli. and if I were to subscribe to the mid-trib or post-trib points of view these chapters would be excellent teaching tools

This book is one that I have been highly recommending to every women I know! Hayley and Jess do an amazing job show how we at any age can still be tied down by things in our own lives that keep us from being Wild and Free in the Lord. They also do and amazing job refining the words wild and free! This is definitely a book that I will read again!

Poor editing

I especially noticed in chapter 4 a section of the book being repeated. It was like the narrator wanted to redo that spot but forgot to remove it after it was redone.

Awesome Read

This book describes the world in it's disobedience today. But God is faithful and just time and time again, while waiting for the world to acknowledge that He is in control and we could do nothing without prayer and true repentance towards his will and purpose for each of our lives.

Hideous narration, excellent content

Kevin O'Brien has a very nice speaking voice. Why then did he choose to make such strange voices and sound effects, most of which sound like they came from a third-rate cartoon? The devil sounds like a gleeful, over the top drama queen. Gemma Galgani sounds like a cartoon chihuahua. Utterly hideous!

I couldn't take much more of it, so I went for the Kindle version. It is an excellent book, inspiring and uplifting. A nice companion to Thigpen's classic text on spiritual warfare.

Hopefully, you won't ever have to go head to head with Satan, but these saints did, and they conquered through Christ. Whatever we're up against, many have come before who endured as much or more. The saints are our teachers and friends. Now in the presence of God, they can help show us the way more clearly. That's the message, and it's something Catholics should contemplate frequently.

Wildly Inappropriate Narration

The subject matter of this book is quite serious, yet the narrator read it as though it was the Wizard of Oz. It seemed like he had no idea what he was reading, actually. He likely uses the same childish rythm when narrating any book regardless of the subject.

Don't listen to this narration. Buy the book and read it yourself.

Touching & encouraging

This book was such a blessing! I had not heard Laura Story's life-story before. Her life is a testimony to trusting God in the midst of your circumstances one step and one day at a time.

A MUST Listen for all Christians

Full of wisdom and insight into the struggles of life. Laura was vulnerable and brave as she shared her struggles with living with prayers not answered the way she wanted and unmet expectations.

Right on the Mark!

This book is very down-to-earth. The situations portrayed in the book are easy for anyone to identify with and gain comfort from. What I gained from reading this book is that things never really are out of control, even when it looks that way to me. And when I think they are out of control, it just means they are out of "my" control. God often answers our prayers in ways we don't expect. And most of the time, looking back, I would have chosen that same solution to the problem if I had known what God knows.

Through reading (or in my case, listening to), this book, I learned that when God says "no", or takes something from me, it is because He has something better, something I may never have asked for, because I get so focused on what I think should happen, I can't even consider that I may be settling for less than what God has in mind.

A Pirate's Perspective....

This book was recommended by a female friend from church. At first glance, I likened her book recommendation, None Like Him, to that of offering up a movie night of Bridges of Madison County to a Pirate. Never one to forego an opportunity to learn something new, however, I channeled my fatherhood dives into makeup and dress-up night with my daughters and blocked some time to give it a listen with an open heart.

Four hours later, I sat in silence. Trying to grasp the awesomeness of what I had just taken in. Like being drawn graciously out of cold incompetence and gently guided into the warm light of awareness. I felt at peace, and yet ever smaller by comparison to our Lord. By the end, I was no longer a pirate, but a little boy with a wooden sword.

Wonderful work

This book is a wonderful explanation of a limitless God. It humbles the soul and lifts our eyes in worship to our Creator. Also wonderful to use as a womens home study or personal study because she has reflections, verses and questions at the end of each chapter. Thankful for her work.

I love this book! It grew my faith and helped me realize my dependence on God, and how different I am from God. I read it with a group from church and we all loved it and got something from it. Excellent book on the attributes of God

First, I love listening to a book read by the author themself. It's particularly fun to hear Jen recount personal stories to illustrate her points. More than that, though, this is an excellent book for learning about the attributes of God. Each chapter teaches on a different attribute. Jen really made me think and pointed out ways we don't recognize how we try to be like God in our everyday living. It's eye-opening.

I do enjoy Jen Wilkin's work greatly. I enjoyed how she encourages us to take the focus of ourselves & turn it to God. To see God more clearly than we have before: His power. His majesty. His heart.
