    Filling in
I like the series but what I find a bit disconcerting is that the books are being released out of sequence. it's been almost a year and a half since the Papal stakes was published. so much of that book relies on actions that are covered in this book. I just wished that someone too a overview of the whole series and released these books in a logical order.
    Mixed feelings
Ok so I love this series but there was a weird moment that made me stop and go what the fuck. That was when frank stone causally drops the word Faget. In the middle of a life or death situation when he is facing certain death he stops to describe something as "fagetiest" and that just felt so out of character and off base for frank. It took me out of the story and I'm docking what would have been four stars one star for doing so. Other wise a great entry

    Title: The Border
    Author: Robert McCammon
    Narrator: Fred Berman
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 15 hrs and 45 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-01-15
    Publisher: Audible Studios

    Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
World Fantasy Award-winning, best-selling author Robert McCammon makes a triumphant return to the epic horror and apocalyptic tone reminiscent of his books Swan Song and Stinger in this gripping new novel, The Border, a saga of an Earth devastated by a war between two marauding alien civilizations.
But it is not just the living ships of the monstrous Gorgons or the motion-blurred shock troops of the armored Cyphers that endanger the holdouts in the human bastion of Panther Ridge. The world itself has turned against the handful of survivors, as one by one they succumb to despair and suicide or, even worse, are transformed by otherworldly pollution into hideous Gray Men, cannibalistic mutants driven by insatiable hunger. Into these desperate circumstances comes an amnesiac teenaged boy who names himself Ethan - a boy who must overcome mistrust and suspicion to master unknowable powers that may prove to be the last hope for humanity's salvation. Those same powers make Ethan a threat to the warring aliens, long used to fearing only each other, and thrust him and his comrades into ever more perilous circumstances.
A major new novel from the unparalleled imagination of Robert McCammon, this dark epic of survival will both thrill listeners and make them fall in love with his work all over again.

    RAT KING
TEARS WOULD WIN NO BATTLES AND RIGHT NO WRONGS
This started out real weird and I had trouble getting into it. The main character (Ethan) has no personality. He answers every question with "I don't Know". The aliens were cool and what they could do to inanimate objects was cool. Until chapter 8 and the Rat King, I was about to bow out early. Mostly due to the lack of character development. I am a huge fan of freaks and mutants, so when the rat king happened I got interested. This was shortly before part 2, when they introduced the cookie cutter character, TV Evangelist. While his personality was cookie cutter and he was not likable, he brought some excitement and controversy to the story. I really liked his interaction with the Queen. The Grey Men were cool and the attack on the bus was exciting. They are very similar to the mutants in Gunslinger.
    MAGIC EIGHT BALL
Just as we get to know the main character he is eliminated. Not that he was that exciting to begin with. The book has several chapters of nothing but introspective. It even got corny in places. Throughout all of this, there still is not any character development. It got to where I just didn't care. I almost felt insulted. I know what a great writer McCammon is. I am a fan of They Thirst and Swan Song. I liked the three or four other books of his I have read. They all had characters. I feel like he got together with his writer buddies and said, I can write a Science Fiction book and not have any characters and it will be a best seller. I will threw in a lot of mumbo jumbo, Area 51, mutants, prophesy, aliens, twilight zone, guns, bombs and lots of shoot-em ups and those idiots will be tickled pink.
Unless your Arthur C. Clarke, (who is quoted in the book) and your going to write about the wonders of space, than you must have characters we care about. With only two hours left in this sixteen hour book, I had no desire to continue.

Must read for sci fi junkies.
Reminds me of a good Heinlein juvenile novel, seeming written for a younger audience but entertain for adults as well. We'll worth the credit.
Why write a book when you can just write a script?
If you are someone who loves summer blockbuster action movies, you will love this book. If you are someone who likes well-written literature, then perhaps you should avoid the book. It reads more like a script from a movie than a book. Character development, realistic world building and believable plotting is all sacrificed for action and fast fast pacing. It's enjoyable and not too badly written at first, but gets worse and worse as you realize you don't really know anything about the characters or their environment. The ending is particularly bad and rivals most movies in terms of wrapping things up in unrealistic and incomprehensible ways. I honestly can't understand where all the good reviews come from. There are many people who will like this book. It's just most of them don't actually read books.
    An honest voice
What did you love best about Robinson Crusoe 2244?
Yes, It was compelling. I loved seeing the story through the boy's eyes.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the honest voice the author was able to convey of the little boy struggling to understand a grown up world. My children were also compelled to hear what was going to happen next. E. J. Robinson's use of details painted an articulate picture of an oppressive world transformed.
What does Malk Williams bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Mark Williams gave an authenticity to the story. My children loved Mark's talented use of different voices.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I am a mother of young children so I don't get to do much in one setting!
    Any additional comments?
I look forward to reading/ hearing more from E.J. Robinson.
A Great Story! And Well Read!
If you could sum up Robinson Crusoe 2244 in three words, what would they be?
    Inventive. Clever. Compelling.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Crusoe was my favorite character. Very likable guy and I really liked the way he evolves from a fairly naive kid at the beginning of the story to a very capable Aserra warrior by the end.
What about Malk Williamss performance did you like?
I liked the way the he used his voice to give a distinct identity to each character while at the same time executing a very fluid reading.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes for sure. I had read the book before but I listened to the audio book in the car with my kids as it is a great story for the whole family. They loved it too!
    Any additional comments?
EJ Robinson shows a ton of promise as a writer.

    No more repeats!
He finally quit repeating the same info over and over again, not a single reference to how Sandy got his name!
    It's okay.
This book was okay but lacked the spark that the other books had. It's still a good read just hope there are many more books to the series.
    Caught in a loop
This book has a quick fix ending that puts you right back where you started at the end of book 3. Just felt like more and more of the same story. Some interesting space battles, but that's it.
Good ending, but the beginning was slow.
Where does Deep Time rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Ian Douglas is my favorite sci-fi author. I think this would have been a better story with less time on Earth in the beginning. I hope there is a book 6!
    Sci-fi and real science
I just love how the author integrates real science within the context of sci-fi. Not only is it entertaining but also informative and educational. Just the way I like.

Serial killers come in all shapes and sizes, but this one is particularly puzzling. There's no pattern to the mutilated bodies that have been showing up in Albuquerque: The victims have been both sexes and all races, ages, and ethnic groups. There is no evidence of rape or ritual. Only one thing connects the victims: They were the victims of a natural disaster - one of the most unnatural natural disasters imaginable - leading to a most painful, most certain, and most hideous death.
Mulder and Scully, FBI: the agency maverick and the female agent assigned to keep him in line. Their job is to investigate the eerie unsolved mysteries the Bureau wants handled quietly but quickly, before the public finds out what's really out there...and panics - the cases filed under "X".

    X Marks the Spot
I love anything X-Files, so I don't critique these stories too much. However I can get a dose of Mulder and Scully, I will take it. I finally got used to Patrick Lawlor's narration in this book. I found his voice rather grating in the last one. Of course the next book has a new narrator, so I'll have to readjust. Although I read this book many years ago, I didn't recall the storyline very well, so it was a pleasant listen.
    About the same as 'Goblins'
Same problems as what #1 'Goblins' had. Average story, bad impressions/narration in general rather than full cast, over-description. Hard to get through.
What a way to ruin a story.....
What could Charles Grant have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He could have given it some true X-File feeling. There was nothing
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Yes, thoroughly. He had no feeling for the story, I could not get interested in the book and his voice really put me off, it was such a drag. You should be able to get a visual image from what the narrator is telling you... I got nothing ! I struggled on but wish I hadn't... It will be returned
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Total disappointment, I shall be cancelling the others from my wish list purely because of the narrator
    Any additional comments?
I have been waiting for more X files books and what a let down these were. I have the original abridged versions on cassette, which I have transfered over. I shall continue to listen to them. Next time get a decent narrator......

JACK IS A GREAT MAIN MAN!!!
What made the experience of listening to A New World the most enjoyable?
Jack...well and Mark Gagliardi as Jack...so I guess John O'Brien too...I have become quite enamored with Jack..he is such a good man...he is a great dad, great partner, great leader...I just adore him!
Who was your favorite character and why?
    DUH! JACK!!!! ^^^^^ LOL
What about Mark Gagliardis performance did you like?
I love his narrating...He IS Jack Walker for me...he is good....I will listen to more of his work...so he better do some more books!!! lol
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Both!
    Any additional comments?
I am on to book 8....I loved this one...the search and rescue for the soldiers...finding others and helping people.... .The Rescue of Lynn...and yet ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!!!!!!! Book 8 is in my ears now! LOL Jack is a GREAT main character...his snarkiness and love for others is remarkable and makes me just adore him!!!
    love this series of books
love these books but damn I hate the cliff hangers want more can't wait for the next one
Great story! I wish the next one was available now
You would think that after eight books this author's imagination would run dry on the topic of "Night Runners", but he keeps it entertaining with fresh content, including side stories and new situations for the main characters.
    Good book, Great narration.
Well, I liked the book. It seems as though they are doing a lot of busy work in this one and not much of note happens for most of the book. And I truly despise cliffhanger books, especially when they are new books, mostly because you are left hanging the whole time it takes to write the followup book.
That being said I really like the practicality the author puts into his work. The things talked about in this series are things you would have to think about if anything ever happened like this, hey don't knock it, you never know. lol.
    Another cliff hanger!!!!
Very entertaining if you like post apocalyptic zombie type survival listens!!! I've listen to all of the new World Series and can't wait for the next. While this isn't normally my taste! I find the style and the narrator a little over the top. I can't help but enjoy this series!!! So much macho fun, with just enough humanity to keep it grounded.

    Invested In the Tale
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Jessica Brody knows how to gently pull a reader into the lives of other people. I read books like this precisely because I want to share in the experience of other people. Although I am beginning to sound like a broken record, Julia Whelan is magnificent. I actually found this book by looking for works narrated by her. With Whelan behind the microphone this story comes to life flowing along with just the right amount of suspense and action. This is NOT a typical 'girl loses memory' tale at all. The twists and turns are deliciously sweet and kept me guessing all along. An author who builds lives, builds feeling and emotion, and who evokes empathy in readers automatically moves to the top of my list of authors to search for again next time I am looking for a new series.
What did you like best about this story?
The narration, as I said before, is the best. Whelan is fabulous with her timing, tone, inflection, and emotion. I loved that this tale is written from the first person point of view, from Seraphina's perspective. Without giving away too much, I can say that Seraphina's way of thinking and describing the world is completely unique in this story. Imagine that you appeared in a world in which you had lost your memories, did not understand the customs, the social mores, or even what most objects are used for. Now, imagine ways in which this could possibly happen.

    Publisher's Summary:
The sequel to Agenda 21, from number-one New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio host Glenn Beck.
"I knew those men were our enemies, but they, like everyone else in the Republic, were nothing more than servants. Rule followers. They had no choice. But I did. I had a choice and I made it. I knew then and there that, no matter what happened, I would never go back. Never."
It was once named America, but now it is just "the Republic". Following the worldwide implementation of a UN-led program called Agenda 21, the once-proud people of America have become obedient residents who live in barren, brutal Compounds and serve the autocratic, merciless Authorities.
Citizens mainly keep their heads down and their mouths shut - but Emmeline is different. When the Authorities took her mother away, she started questioning the world around her. What happened to her mom? Why is everyone confined to grim living spaces and made to eat the same food cubes every day? Why was her own baby taken from her to be raised in the Children's Village? And are the rumors that somewhere out beyond the fence live those who got away during the Relocations - the so-called shadow people - really true?
When Emmeline's questions lead to the realization that she will never see her child again, she decides to escape the Compound with her partner David and their baby Elsa. Fleeing the armed enforcers of the Earth Protection Agency, and facing the unknown for the first time in their lives, Emmeline and David run into the shadows in the desperate hope of finding something they'd only heard stories about from those who'd lived before the Relocations: freedom.

    Entertaining, but not fantastic!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It's a god book. Entertaining and as much as I believe some area want to push the UN Agenda 21 program. I think the U.S. will collapse long before they could ever round up people (voluntarily at least) in this country. While entertaining, not very likely tHe US population would stand for it....although look at all the idiots still standing behind the incompetent Obama and his administration of lies, executive orders and tantrums....so maybe there is about 50% of this country stupid enough to go live in a commune (for the greater good) a line that makes me want to puke!"Praise be the republic"
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Emmeline of course!
    Which scene was your favorite?
    When Steven got shot finally!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really. The narration was really good though! In fact it probably was more enjoyable in audio format than in print thanks to the narrators.
    Any additional comments?
Good book, entertaining but not a Great book.I think the first Agenda 21 book was better.
    critical thinking type of book
The agenda 21 sequel was a great book that spoke about an idea about a future where the government controlled people and use the environment as an excuse. It shed light on an issue that could become bigger in the future. I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in politics, fiction, and likes to think critically.

    great narrator
    Love this series
The writing, characters and narration are great. I continue to be impressed. I am able to really visualize and put myself in this world.
    The end for me.
This was a fantastic story that kept going and wanting more. But now the next chapter has jumped a lot in price for audible and there's a different narrator that sounds like he cannot do the characters any justice. Why the change? What's the point?
Wish I could continue but sadly, I'm calling it quits. If the withdraws kick in too hard, I'll settle for reading it and imagine Jason Damron's voice.
    Thanks Bobby, it's been fun.
    Fun chase book
This is a fun action story with some limited character dialogue and a somewhat interesting scientific theory depicting zombies as "infected."

Join our survivors as they band together and discover that zombies are far from the worst thing in a post-apocalyptic world where the rules of human decency no longer apply.
Little food, little water, little hope - who is lucky enough to say, "We're Alive"?

Wayland's entire "We're Alive" radio drama is fantastic, well written, well acted & well produced. I missed the last season's podcast and decided to stop being a free loader and buy it on Audible. Creative, exciting, frightening and entertaining this last stretch does a great job of closing out this series while leaving the door open for future possibilities (you know never to leave a door open when there are zombies around, right?). Listen to the whole production and you won't be disappointed.
a good ending to an awesome radio drama

    Outstanding Audio Book

Once in a great while you'll find a Gem in all the audio books out there and this one my homies is the one. Listen to all three and I promise you will not be disappointed. End of series I think was masterfully conscripted. Well done. Great from start to finish.
sit on the edge of your seat performance
as with the previous books, podcast rather this is an amazing performance the actors and actresses do a great job making it all sound believable. The sound effects are wonderful. I really can't get enough of this series. I'm almost sad that it ended
