I Couln't Stop Laughing!

This is simply a hilarious audio casette. You will laugh so loud that you will disturb the neighbors. I have listened to it five times. And each time, it becomes funnier and funnier. If you are hypersensitive, I wouldn't buy this cassette. The authors really lampoon so many of our favorite icons. Order this audio casette and have the time of your life!

Not funny to me

I was expecting funny but this book wasn't for me. First, I would like to preface by saying that I hate doing negative reviews because just like those outstanding 5 star rating who is to say that I am just being over the top. Plus, people love positive and it is hard to explain a hatred of a book which is a matter of opinion especially if the person has not read it before. Like when you go to the movie and a person wants to know details but you don't want to be labeled as spoiling the movie by telling the whole thing. In this review I will explain as much as I can the reason why I was underwhelmed by this book without giving the entire book away. I also welcome comments and I will respond as quickly as I can.

As you already know the book is a parody of self help books. As a person who reads self-help books I thought this should be hilarious. Plus the two 5 star reviews helped. Maybe I should question a book that only has 2 reviews. Hmmmm?

The 7 habits of defective people is the first section they touch on. The other bestsellers are just other topics such as love, oedipus complex, installing windows and many more. First, in The 7 habits of highly defective people the use of vocabulary is incorrectly used, for example prophylactic is supposedly a person that is opposite of proactive. Which I did not find amusing-maybe it is for others. Paradigm is used many times however that word is used as the masses would use it and it is stated in the beginning that it will be used often. Which didn't effect me any. Interdefective is a made up word that is used. Nothing hilarious about that word. For the record these examples focus on the section of The 7 habits of highly defective people since that is the main title of the book. Additionally, they go over the 7 defective things by first telling you why the effective qualities don't work. You have the great listener who ends up losing his job and dies by choking on brown rice in the end. So it is best not be a good listener. They had description of the 7 dwarfs, happy had attention defecit disorder etc.

Next in the book, since the the 7 habits they made were pretty simple and quick they had 9 stupid things women do to mess up their wardrobe. A few examples are Women eat(the point made is the clothes are stained and also how women gain or lose weight) the action plan is to not eat. Women cook, (clothes gets messed up or smells like onions) so microwave, or eat raw veggies. Women have children (kids mess up the clothes) you guessed it, don't have kids.

I quickly read through the rest of the book because I hate starting a book and not finishing.

Politically Incorrect Short Novel

An impressive and incisive political and social analysis of African American culture and the American political system. Definitely worth a read if you appreciate gonzo black humor or want a very politically incorrect view of current events in novel form.
