Great story-

Loved the story but the narrative was annoying because he ever seemed to get out of the "infomercial" type speaking. Even in the tender moments I kept expecting him to say "but, wait, there's more". I wanted to hear the story so I put up with his annoying narration.

Makes you believe in second chances for first love

Would you consider the audio edition of Feels Like the First Time to be better than the print version?

No. The audio editing was sloppy in places, resulting in phrases being repeated at several points and, once, the narrator stops reading and clears his throat before continuing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shawn, of course. And Jeff...i want to hang out with Jeff

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Mostly, he was decent. But the narration was one dimensional and , when he did seem to try emphasizing the emotion of the story, it came out all wrong.

A Sad Love Story

It was a good book. I struggled with it. It took me 3 different times to finish it. The story was Great, it was just long and drawn out. Very sad in certain parts. It reminded me of a past relationship minus the happy ending. It wasn't good for me. You may really enjoy it though.

Couldn't finish it..

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Julia Duvall?

I couldn't get through the first story. I'm not sure what was happening with the narrator, but the voices were all over the place, and I felt like I was reading about insolent teenagers. I actually can't even tell you about the part of the story I heard, I was so distracted by the voice. I'm sorry. Insolent one minute, southern twang the next...I just couldn't keep up with it.

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Perhaps a different narrator with a consistent voice for her characters would have helped.

The reader was excellent. Really used her voice to develop the characters. This is one book that I think was better in audio, than it would in hard copy, simply because of the reader.

I enjoy a good witch story now and then,and this was a good one.I love the relationship the sisters have and cal and send perfect for each other.look forward to next sisters story and hope to hear how seems life continues,maybe a baby!!!just wish series would be easier to find,and numbered!

Easy quick read. I enjoyed the story and will probably continue to read the series. The sex scenes are detailed. Definitely an adult book.

exciting fast-paced romantic urban fantasy

Easy Romance Listen

I thoroughly enjoyed this story from the first moment that Marc spies the forlorn-looking Aussie bride alone on the street of his home town to the last word in the Epilogue, which garnered a satisfied sigh. The series of events that weave Marc and Matilda's lives together seemed as organic to the story as snow is to their Wisconsin winter, making it feel as if it's a true story being recounted for my enjoyment. The story has some reasonable sex scenes which add a bit of spice. Tess Masters narration was really good especially the Australian ascent.

While Boomerang Bride is very much a romance, it's also a portrait of familial love's twists and turns which results in the desperate and euphoric moments that make life interesting. Fiona Lowe is a gifted writer whose portrayal of those moments make this a book you'll remember long after you've read the final word.

A fun and sometimes very funny romance tha gave me the kind of escapism I was looking for.

Couldn't pick just one. Several make me smile even now as I think about them.

I've been trying to branch out and try some authors I'm not familiar with. This is one where I can say I have found an author I will look for again.

Fluffy Fun with Some Serious Undertones

On the surface, this was a lighthearted romance. As unbelievable plot line with a few too many contrived conveniences as I have come to expect from most stories in this genre, but the characters were quirky and endearing, they faced real problems and real trauma and yet stayed true to the idea of romance. The main characters were by and large likeable. She was a little too good-natured and naive and he was a little shallow and failed to see the obvious. But both were sympathetic and many of the secondary characters were even more so.

The undertones - that dealt with coming to grips with loss, letting go of long held harmful habits and dialog, the role playing that takes place in family dynamics - were dealt with well. They gave the plot meat, but didn't overwhelm the warmth of the romance.

Overall this was a very likeable book.

Lighthearted romance

Boomerang Bride was an enjoyable, lighthearted read. If anything, its biggest flaw was that it was really predictable, without many twists and turns. So this may not be the best option for people who need a really big arc to the story.

one point for each story

"Kilts and Krakens" was my first steam punk. I loved the worldbuilding! but the romance left a lot to be desired...

"Negotiating Point" was great on details of hostage negotiating, but lacking in the romance department. I felt like the personalities were shoved down my throat. Nerdy, shrimp of a computer tech has the hots for the calm, cool hostage negotiator. And then they have sex in a barn while the kidnappers snack on pizza??? And it wasn't even a good scene!

I bowed out at 93% of the final story. The kissing scene of "Slow Summer Kisses" was fantastic, but the actual wham-bam scenes were brief and unsatisfying even though the characters gushed over them in hindsight. Maybe short romances aren't my thing because that realizing your in love after a couple of pages is not up my alley. Lots of eye-rolling going on on my end.

Ginny is one of the best bone setters and she needs to realign his pelvic bones if he is to ever walk again. Luckily he's still unconscious.

Love how descriptive the location is, the castle and what the laird was doing with steam power, makes me feel like I am there.

Magnus has a magick aura about him that the women healers are there to find out about.

THe women were to bring him back to his island when the others came for him, it was his only wish when he was awake for a minute.

After he is semi recovered others come to their aid on the island as the kraken is still attacking them because of all the modernization going on.

Ginny's sister and other relatives arrive in the airship and help in killing one of the squids. The explanation of how it explodes is truly a work of genius.

They all try to help to figure out who wants him dead and his magick powers gone.

When Ginny is missing Magnus sets out to search the whole island and to get down to why she was summoned away from the castle.

They find other clues to solve the mysteries.

fire and ice, fun read

This was a fun book. It was entertaining the way Louisa, and Luke sparred back and forth, and keep points for the augments they won. They argued about everything from party politics to which side of the bed to sleep on. They flirted back and forth, and made wild passionate love too many times to count. Luke took his responsibility's serious. But at the same time attempted to keep his heart guarded. Luke didn't think he could love, or didn't think he was worth loving. Louisa, and the baby she carried got through the walls that he had built up around his heart. I loved the way Louisa was a strong heroine. In this story, it would have taking someone strong to stand up to Luke, the rich, and handsome man, that everyone did what he said without question. Louisa was perfect for Luke. This was a story that I really enjoyed!

A little over the top but wasnt as bad as the other reads portrayed.

Truly Horrible

Louisa works for a magazine, her dream job and she's a bit of a flirt. But she doesn't sleep around, that would be slutty, she just teases. She's on a three year dry spell because she just can't be bothered to fake it with a guy. Enter Luke, he meets her at dinner at a friends place, thinks she's gorgeous and flirts right back with her, and after three years of no sex she invites him up and he rocks her world. Twice. Once with sex and then 10 minutes later when he tells her he only gave her the time of day because he wanted to rip her a new one after she put his name on an eligible bachelors list. Obviously there was no second date. Fast forward 3 months and he shows up demanding to know why she didn't tell him she was pregnant.

It's been a long time since I read a book that has left me so flabbergasted as to what the hell the author was thinking when she wrote it. Luke, oh boy what a F'ed jerk. He never admits he was wrong to have sex with Louisa that first time, he finally sees her again and all he cares about is getting her in bed, and the whole time he is bullying her about EVERYTHING! The guy is not just emotionally retarded but utterly stupid when it comes to women. He tells her that after they get married they won't be living together because that would give her and the kid the wrong idea of the whole marriage situation. WTF? But not to worry he would still be showing up regular for a quickie before he would leave again and he's gonna give them money so it's all good. WTF again? He then gets mad she doesn't tell him about a possible problem with the baby after he specifically says he wants to have nothing to do with the kid.
