Sooner or Later

What a story! Loved it from the beginning to the end! This book was captivating & kept me riveted to where I didn't want to put it down. I enjoy Ms. Macomber's books & am so pleased that she always mentions God's love & mercy throughout the book. I was so sad to learn that Murphy had passed away but so happy that he returned to be with Letty & that they were expecting baby. Kudos!

Letty and Murphy

Letty has a twin brother and he was working in a missionary in another country and Letty knew something was wrong with him because she felt it. So she heard of a guy named Murphy so she hired him to find her brother but before he would do the job he wanted her to sleep with him, but she was a virgin and was scared to death so she said ok so that night she made steaks and salad out of her herb garden and put something in his dinner and than they went to bed and he tried but he Felt asleep and they left for their adventure and in months she found out that she was falling in love with Murphy and he finally fell in love with her. I couldn't stop reading this book Debbie kept me wanting to read more. I'm not much of a good reader but she kept me instead in all of her books so far I am thanking her delivery such a beautiful novel. Thanks again

Too risque

When I ordered a Debbie Macomber book, I thought I was getting the book version of a Hallmark channel movie. Not so. I know some people enjoy raunchy titillating descriptions in books. That's not what I was looking for. What a disappointment.

Needs more editing...

While I really liked the book and this is the first book I have read by this author, the misspellings of words, left out words and wrong use of words interrupted the flow and created frustration in reading the book. I can't believe that this would be published without a more diligent copy editing review. I can understand minor mistakes, but this was really bad. If I were the author, I would have the copy editor or whoever is in charge of reviewing and editing replaced or find a new publisher who has people that respect the written word and pay more attention to what is being published. Obviously, the attention to detail is more than lacking...

Editing non-existent and characters flat

The story has a good plot but it's too long and a bit contrived. The characters need more dimension. The worst part is the writing. As with all unedited books, this one gets worse the further toward the end you get. As if the author is in a hurry to finish. This attitude is evident in the story and in the writing.

Very Good Story, Sometimes Slow

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. Victoria is a very good storyteller. At times, I did find myself rolling my eyes at Jane's inability to move on, but that is probably just a personality thing. I am very much someone who let's things go, so I can get annoyed with people (even fictitious ones) who can't. I will definitely be purchasing her other two books to listen.

Trite and Predicable

I hated this book, and if I hadn't spent money on it and needed something to entertain me while driving, I would have stopped reading it after the first couple of chapters. The ending was so predictable, even for a romance. The main character was an idiot; I just wanted to slap her. The whole story was completely unbelievable. I shouldn't have wasted my time along with my money. The reader was good, however.

HOT HOT HOT!!

This book had me steaming! I loved it! I love how the main female character is strong on the outside but a softy on the inside. I like how she learns the importance of family. She also has such a strong sense of her own sexuality and I love that she gives no excuses or feels like that is wrong in herself. All around a very enjoyable and funny book.

Hot Stuff

This book has an interesting but somewhat ordinary storyline. The sex is graphic, be aware. However, overall I liked the characters and the story. It was entertaining. Narrator made it better.

This was my first Victoria Dahl book and I liked it. I would try another one if it had good ratings.

I have listened to several books narrated by Savannah Richards. I actually bought this book because it was narrated by her. A narrator makes or breaks an audiobook and I must say Savannah Richards is one of my favorite narrators.

If youve listened to books by Victoria Dahl before, how does this one compare?

My first VD book. This is a story of a wild child turned responsible serious adult coming to terms with who she really is, re establishing a relantioship with her family and falling in love with who she thought was the wrong man... I found it hard to believe that people with such rough pasts can actually change that much but I guess it is possible. Also I like the fact that you learn thought the story that one should not judge, everyone has a story and we all deserve a second chance...

What does Savannah Richards bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Savannah Richards has a very pleasant voice. You can easily differentiate between characters and she makes the story more vivid for the listener.

How could you not love this book??

If you love to review great books (and I do), when you compare the author's works with another's, at least stay within the genre. I would group Carly Phillips say, with the Lori Foster contemporary romance novels, particularly the Buckhorn Brothers series. The Chandler brothers are believable characters. Roman, Rick and Chase become real to me because I have known men who remind me strongly of them. Ms. Phillips has well-fleshed out her men with human frailties and sexy, charming traits.

In The Playboy, Rick Chandler's mother is obsessed with marrying off her boys and becoming a grandmother. Later Raina admits she just wants to see her boys settled and happy as she was with their father. As a mother (or foster) of 7 boys, I can very much identify with Raina in this.

Rick and Kendall Sutton meet in an amusing scene; eye contact jolts, the sparks fly. I love the page where we find out about Kendall's woefully untalented attempt to turn her blond hair to a rich auburn the night before her wedding. It was very pink/punk when she and conservative cop Rick meet. This scene is deftly and hilariously presented, and the reader can say to herself "I've been there"! Soon Rick comes up with the idea of Kendall playing his girlfriend so his mother (and the women in town) will leave him alone.

Rick has good reasons for his fear of commitment. Kendall does not believe in the fairy tale of happy relationships with anyone. Her standard plan is to distance herself emotionally by packing up and leaving. Her character comes alive as we begin to understand her complex background; she belatedly realizes her younger sister has experienced a very similar childhood. This explains her teenage brattiness. Actually, I thought that Hannah had normal teenage brattiness with the habit of totally embarrasing her sister. Hannah is a wonderfully entertaining addition to the story at any rate.

I found the book to be not only a keeper, but a one-nighter as well. Ms. Phllips writing style focuses on her characters in the foreground, with their surroundings rather sparsely covered. In a Regency novel I would be disappointed; but in a contemporary book I like to fill in the setting with my own imagination. This is another trilogy where you want to tell the writer to hurry up already.

Chandler Brother!

Rick is not the forever kind of guy or is he. Meeting Kendall was his downfall or his happily ever after! Kendall has never had a home or family but can she have both here. These two are so perfect for each other!

2.5 stars. Motivations and actions could have been better. Nothing grabbed me.

The last Mermaid

I was pleasantly surprised and loved every minute. I loved the narrator and story line

More Imaginative Than Some, Ending Falls Flat

I bought this because I love mermaid stories. I didn't know it was a romance novel when I bought it. There were some spots I really didn't care for because they involved a female character refusing intimate attentions from a male character, and he just did what he wanted anyway and the female character went along with it. No means no.

The plot was fast-paced and more imaginative than some, and character development was good for the most part. I did not like the ending- it felt stilted and rushed, like the writer was trying to cram in a lot of material into a limited number of pages. And I didn't really understand the whole "locket" and "lost souls" device... I really enjoyed the first two stories but the last one just didn't ring true for me.

Love is timeless

I couldn't put it down! I ignored everyone to get to the end! Timeless love! Deep!

Vampire done right!

I download alot of books that are okay...but, this is a really worthy series (read them all)! This is the third in the series, and way better written than your standard present day vampire tale; the characters are strong (okay, there's a romantic angle thrown in) -- but, the lure is intact (you can tell the writer knows her way around the subject matter), and the plotting will keep you going from start to finish.

Thank GOD for the new narrator

I hated the voices used by the last narrator. This was much better.

I liked it better than the second one...

I was a little worried with the second book, so I actually listened to a few others before book three. I enjoyed it more. Kari wasn't as annoying. It also leaves a decent curiousity factor for the next book.

Definitely different

A very unusual tale that pulls you into it even if you initially think it to be bizarre. There's something about vampire tales that challenge the imagination. The depth of detail in this series blows your mind.

Excellent Listen! Want More!

This is an excellent book and series! I must admit I've fallen in love Nathan, Carrie, Max, and the whole crew! I sure hope that she doesn't leave the series here! I want MORE!

This is definately not a Twilight or even Vampire Diaries, not a teen listen for sure, but that is what makes it so great! A vampire series for adults that is compelling and grows on you the more you listen to it! If there is ever another book in the series you can bet I will own it as soon as it is available! I'd go as far as to buy the book and actually read it if it didn't make it to audio right away, and I really hate reading when I can listen to them and not have to curl up with a book all day!

If you could sum up Scarred By Love in three words, what would they be?

Really enjoyed this book and it's group of characters. I can't wait to read more about this group and Riley's brothers....

YA.... NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING BUT IT WAS OK

This was an enjoyable YA listen about two College Students and all the drama, misunderstandings and heartache that goes along with it that you'd expect from this type of listen. I only gave it 3 stars because I don't usually listen to YA and, from the Summary, I thought this was going to be a totally different kind of listen.... not just a College guy playing in a band for kicks once a month.

Worth a credit? Well, if you're looking for a contemporary YA listen with not too detailed sex scenes and a lot of boyfriend issues, from a variety of characters, then you'd like this book which doesn't finish on a cliffhanger but there is a "or is it?" at the end. However, I was looking for a more adult listen and if you are too then I would say save you're credit and look elsewhere.

Cute

I really liked this book, however, I would have loved seeing Emily's ex getting a little kick in the butt for being an ass. But this two stories got me into buying the next book. I want Rio know what is Jed's deal.

Very Good but too Short

This was an entertaining book but way too short. 25% of the pages are about other books and series. I had read that it was a transition book but would say it is more of a "booklet". If you are reading the whole series I am sure you will enjoy it but don't purchase as a single book.

Couldn't stop reading!

It made me crave with anticipation what would happen next. I felt love, compassion, anger, and even rage and fear with each page I read. Worth every gold stars. I will continue to read Lorhainne Eckhart's books as long as she continues to write them. Wish I would have known about your books years earlier.

I enjoyed this novel

I enjoyed this novel. Liked the sequence of these books, I don't consider this a romance novel. Could be real life situation to it is easy to connect. Also would not hesitate to read more of Lorhainne Eckhart .

A Baby And a Wedding

I think that instead of writing these short stories and even some of the novels in this series, it could all be written as one or two books. I did enjoy reading this short story and the novels, but the whole plot of each one is so formulaic. A woman who is strong yet haunted by something finds a man who is strong and stubborn. They then fall in love and get married. One thing I do like are the characters in the series.
