Solid for stars

I really enjoyed the first book or most of it, but this book was so much better. I wanted Katie to get her happily ever after because she so deserves it. And wow was this ever drama filled and quirky and just an all-around good book. Can't wait to see what the next book holds.

A dull drive !

This was a total waste of time and money .the story was weak and not clear . The narrative did not but emotional effort in it . Overall a disappointment.

Excellent second installment to the series

Well narrated and bright to life by Emily Beresford. Love the audiobooks just as much as the e-books.

Great narration for most of the book, wasn't a fan of the female character voices in the final chapter, but the rest was well done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This story just grabbed me emotionally and took me on a journey. For a short book I was surprise by how involved I got with the characters, there was one section that had me crying and blowing my nose, I had to stop listening because I was in public (just a little awkward).

The character interactions between Gena and Rusty are hot and emotional, it makes for a fantastic book. I'll be listening to it again!

Bubble gum romance

Sometimes I am in the mood for a light romance, but this was a little too much. I bought this on sale, did not return it. I have read/listened to other books in this series and found them entertaining. This book focussed more on the sex, lack of, commission of, and most of all more sex. Despite stating that it was about a man with "abandonment" issues, it was just about two people who like to have sex and mistake it for love. In any case, I do not find this book sale or credit worthy...... try some of her other books.

Great Narrator, lousy story

The author has not changed much in the six years since she published Trial by Fire. The hero is still introduced to readers as having nothing but sex in his brain right in the middle of work. This time, though, Shane gets a better deal than the hero in TbF. Howard, I think his name was, was obsessing over the heroine's breasts right in the middle of fighting a fire and rescuing the trapped victims. At least Shane wasn't right in the middle of a crime scene but still, it's a police squad room and work is in progress but we get a whole paragraph detailing his sexual thoughts about Daisy. Puhlease.

I felt bad for Sean Crisden because he's one of my fav narrators and I wish he were narrating the Karen Rose books. Or the other serious romantic suspense titles, not this piece of nonsense. Sworn to Protect was not worth even the Whispersync price because I had to buy the Kindle first.

Terrible read and worst listen..

Wow, another book where someone wants to blame themselves for someone elses death. Cant authors just got over that? And, again, a teenage who is a total A-hole through the entire book then when its almost the end (80%) Drew changes and youre suddenly supposed to like him? I also dont like kids in contemporary books because I detest the word whatever and I know that that word is going to be all over the story. AND it was said 20 to 25 times. UGH! And then Drew sneaks out at 2:00 in the morning with Ty and, of course, they get caught tagging one of the bad guys house and barn, the first of his TSTL moments, then another TSTL moment when he got caught again because he had been snooping somewhere he shouldnt have been snooping. Who didnt know that?

And are we almost finished writing about the slutty biotch that says something to the heroine and the stupid heroine believes whatever crappy thing the slut says and breaks up with the hero. Good grief! Enough!

And I have no idea what some reviewers think hot or steamy sex is BUT its not having the hero and heroine be together page after page, chapter after chapter and not have one single thought about desiring or wanting the other one. Absolutely no thoughts whatsoever. This is my first and last book by this author. If you cant write sexual tension you shouldnt write sex scenes. Its like saying, let me just plop this sex scene right here, and everyone will be happy.

Crazy Beautiful Love is about the bad boy in town Logan Martelli. He and his family have such a bad reputation in the small town that they live in. Every one thinks that their whole family is just bad. Then walks in or rather runs in Maddie, the mayors daughter. Logan and his family have grown up hating the mayor and his family because of their fathers pasts. But even though he knows he shouldnt Logan cant seem to keep himself away from Maddie since he first laid eyes on her. Logan tries countless times to not want to be around her but they are like magnets and keep going back together.Even though this was a stand alone story I cant wait to read the next stories about Logans two brothers, Vincent and Jared. This book was funny, exciting, and very sexy Hot Stuff and the only complaint from me is that i found Maddie's voice very young sounding but Jodie Bentley does an awesome job narrating.

Just OK!

This book was just ok for me. Seemed very rushed and on the juvenile side. For a 20 year old and a 25 year old there seemed to be a lot of whining. Seemed like I was reading about teenagers. Just didn't do it for me.

This book was just okay. The story was somewhat rushed and I couldnt connect with the childish characters. With the youthful narration, it just felt wrong. The narrator's voice didnt work. It was okay but I won't be continuing on the series.

Where does Obsession rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

It ranks at the top. I am hooked on this series and cannot get enough. I will listen to the entire series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jess because she reminds of me and my favorite t.v deputy chief Brenda Lee Johnson from the Closer. She is driven, quirky, lonely, unconventional and exceptionally talented detective. While her methods are unconventional and she skirts the boundaries of proper standards she gets results. I love the fact that she is a complex character who is still developing. I cannot wait to see how she changes over the course of the series.

Which character as performed by Carol Schneider was your favorite?

Carol got Jess down cold. She did a great job with all of the characters!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The were several but the one when she got the text message and then went to each room in Dan's parents house with her gun. I was also moved when she went into the barn and found the girls in the open grave. That was a great scene.

Great find!

This book was recommended and selected for a group listen. This author and narrator are new to me, but were a great find! Talk about suspense, suspense, suspense! It was light on violence and gore, but still had my heart thumping and me holding me breath in anticipation. And, talk about twisted characters! These were not your run of the mill crazy people. They were down right disturbing!

I really liked this book from beginning to end. The narrator was different, but really good. Her voice had just enough roughness or edge to really fit the characters. Her characterizations were good and she pulled you into the story. You felt the fear, anxiety, frustration, and determination of the characters. It was just light enough not to be too heavy, and just heavy enough to have some teeth. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of this series.

I'm more into her other books....this one was light reading and I enjoyed it but not as much as her romance mysteries. This book did not keep me on the edge of my seat like the others. I'm really not into stories where women are shown as the weaker sex.

Great romance reading material. Like it's name, a tender and stimulating love story.

Great Romance

This book was originally published in 2000, but if you missed it, this is a great opportunity to read it now.

I really have a love for Heather Graham books, and this one reminded me why. Heather uses her excellent character building in this novel to highlight the differences between the main characters that make them such a perfect match for each other. There are a lot of romances out there, but this one is unique. I liked that Heather didn't stick with the modern way of life for the tribe and thought it made this book a lot more rounded and enjoyable.

The story is basically built around a young woman who works for a land development company and is trying to convince the local Indian tribes that they would be better off living in provided housing. On her way to the hotel where she will be staying, she gets caught in a storm and meets a member of the tribe that has a sharp tongue, a quick wit and a strong male presence she can't seem to resist.

What I loved about the book, was the way Whitney's character was developed. She was headstrong and determined, and yet had enough feminine qualities to make her seem innocent and a perfect offset for her love interest. She came into the book with a past history that was believable and easy to comprehend and supported the way her character behaved throughout the rest of the story.

There was a portion of this story that just outright irked me. I won't include a spoiler here, but I will say it was the lake scene. It pretty much killed my like of the character White Eagle and I honestly wanted to slap him. I never felt the same about him after that.

Overall, this was a pretty compelling romance that kept me waiting to see what would happen next. There was an initial twist I wasn't really expecting and I liked that it didn't go exactly as I had thought it might.

I think fans of romance and fans of Heather Graham will definitely enjoy this book.

Although I do like some romance books, this one was just not one of my favorites from Heather Graham. I hated Whitney a lot! Her small minded mentality got on my nerves and I guess that is why I couldn't get past that and her finding any kind of hapiness with White Eagle.

Yes, I thought the author did a good job. Articulate and well written. I like how the characters were developed and I love Keyonna more than anyone in the story. The author did such a good job describing Keyonna's pain that almost felt like it was my heart (almost).

I hastily judged this author before I had a chance to hear this book. She was articulate and did a very good job creating a picture with just enough detail for the reader. I really hoped the book would last longer than 8hrs, but what can you do after Nick finds Keyonna?

I love the relationship between Keyonna and Nick. Also, THANK YOU for not creating a male character with no back-bone. Finally, a male character who has not been emasculated. I love how sure and strong Nick is, love his character

The best Burke/Laramie book ever!!!

WOW! Burke really out did herself with this one. The smex! OMG! Blush** Blush***

Nick and Kiyona gets married... arragement that leds to passion of course... typical Burke book... But.... the smex between these two was the best ever... Burke goes back and forth with the POV in this one... which I think add to the story.. So we can see what is goin on in both Nick and Kiyona's head.

Great story, good drama.. and Awesome Smex!

Narration is subper. I really think Laramie is best suited for Burke's books.

Love the Series

I love this whole series. Makes me want to want to move to Tuscaloosa and be friends with these women. I wish this Author had more books on Audible.

Funny read

This book had good reviews; what am I missing?

Where's the story? Lots of the reviewers described themselves as Southern girls and were tickled with this book. I don't know why they're not insulted by it.

Blake, the main character is a lawyer. Quite an accomplishment, but mention of her career takes a backseat to baby showers, clothes and the wonders of Aquanet. A murder mystery sort of hovers around the edge of the story, but that's gettin in the way of planning a wedding so it gets wrapped up in ScoobyDoo style and we get on with the Fru Fru wedding (the wedding is planned by "A Fru Fru Affair" event planners.)

Here's the worst part. Blake is in a failed marriage with a senatorial candidate. Though they have already decided on divorce, they are keeping it a secret until after the election, and presenting themselves as a happy professional couple. Although Blake says Harry is a lousy husband, he'll be a good Senator. Geeeeez. He's dishonest and a womanizer, is that what this author considers good Senator material? Meanwhile, Blake is having an affair with the lead investigator of the city police department. There is some discussion about not getting caught, but nothing about any ethical dilemma.

I didn't look to see when this book was written. If it weren't for references to cellphones and other technology, I would have assumed it was 1950 something.

My recommendation..save your money. If you like books about Southern women's lives, try some Deborah Smith.
