"Every once in a while an author arrives with the rare talent to combine reality with romance. This is Janis Reams Hudson." (RT Book Reviews)

    Warm & gentle
Except for the bad language I would have given it a 4 star. But that language didn't advance the story, in the cave of Bess it degraded her character & every time I heard inappropriate words it jerked me out of the story. I suspect the language choice was an editorial one, moving the story into more "liberal minded or modern may be a better term " yes modern day reader who is used to it & expects it. For a historical/western I think it was a. bad move. Don't think I'll be the only one to feel this way either.

    hmmm
It was a good book but maybe it was mislabeled as a romance when it reads as chick lit. It seemed more about Dallas' self discovery and the romance aspect didn't start for over 9 hours into the book. I was intrigued enough to finish it but it can hardly be called romance,IMHO.
    such truth
if you have ever had a best friend or loved someone then you will find this book is a must read it touched on so many emotions and feelings , you feel like you know them . you feel as if you are looking at people who could be your family. It was read so well, it felt more like a movie Ms. Kitt has a way of writing that is truly amazing .

    Members Reviews:
    Decent story, not great narration
I liked the character development of Maddie, but found it very lacking with Cliff's character. The story itself was way too short and under-developed. The narrator's voice drove me crazy and I hated how I kept picturing the characters, just a version of someone's grandmother. I would not recommend this book, but I will likely try this author one more time.
    Great cowboy romance
What made the experience of listening to Her Mule Hollow Cowboy (Book 1 New Horizon Ranch series) the most enjoyable?
I always enjoy Debra Clopton's books and Her Mule Hollow Cowboy was no exception. A hunky bull-rider and a spunky cowgirl, two damaged souls, and one solid, sweet romance.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved Cliff's gentleness with Maddie and her stubborn independence.
What about Kelley Hazen and StorytellerProductions s performance did you like?
It took me a few minutes to get used to the narrator's style, but overall I thought she did a nice job.
Christian romance on the country side..
Would you consider the audio edition of Her Mule Hollow Cowboy (Book 1 New Horizon Ranch series) to be better than the print version?
I don't know if it's better as I have not seen the print version. I did enjoy the narration,
What was one of the most memorable moments of Her Mule Hollow Cowboy (Book 1 New Horizon Ranch series)?
The first kiss between Cliff & Maddie...
What does Kelley Hazen and StorytellerProductions bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The southern drawl and interaction between the people.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Where Bull caused it all...
    Any additional comments?
This was fun to listen too. I enjoyed the voice of the narrator, she had a good drawl where needed and the passion she could bring out in those kisses!

    Narrator: Heather Corrigan, Justin Torres
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 9 hrs and 30 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-02-14
Publisher: HighBridge, a division of Recorded Books
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 10 votes
    Genres: Romance, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
Meet Evelyn and Godfrey. Evelyn is breaking up with her boyfriend, whos passing out advertisements for his band on a snowy street corner in Baltimore. She's seen their dismal future together at Dr. Chin's office: she and her boyfriend, both many years older, singing "Happy Birthday" to a Chihuahua and arguing about cheese. She hopes for more. Meanwhile, Godfrey is proposing to his girlfriend, Madge, who is not quite willing to take that leap; she wants to see their future together first - just to be sure they're meant for each other.
The Future for Curious People follows Evelyn and Godfrey's soon-to-be-entwined lives, set in motion by the fabulist premise of a world with envisionists like Dr. Chin. In struggling with their pasts and possible futures, the characters encounter the mysteries of sorrow, love, death, and fate. Its a story that will capture you with its brightness, its hopefulness, its anxious twists and turns. It is a love story that is ultimately a statement about happiness and how to accept our fleeting existence.
    Critic Reviews:
"Comic and exuberant, The Future for Curious People is a fun romp through some pretty serious territory about love and the vagaries of the past and the future. With a robust sense of the absurd, Gregory Sherl brings us a touching story about one couples journey through the impossible task of narrowing the future down to a certainty. A fine and tender tale for anyone who has tried to let go of the past and envision the future while falling in love. Some satisfyingly quirky minor characters, too." (Rhonda Riley, author of The Enchanted Life of Adam Hope)"Im pretty sure reading The Future for Curious People by Gregory Sherl is making me a better person. Or at least believe in love. This wonderful book is a love story about love stories - the ones we make up for ourselves, the ones we tell about other people, and ultimately the ones we write down in novels. The pages burst with laugh-out-loud scenes and crisply original setups. The characters smart from social criticism that is very now. But under this casual cool, behind the snappy dialogue and hipster flair, this is a novel with one idea: True love is possible, and so is a true love story. I loved it! Cant wait to share it with everyone I know!" (Lydia Netzer, author of Shine Shine Shine)"Somewhere between Jorge Luis Borges' "The Garden of Forking Paths" and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, you will find Gregory Sherls warm, intelligent debut novel. . . . As charming as it is wise, and Sherls words will find their way into the hearts of many." (Roxane Gay, author of An Untamed State)"A whipsmart novel about the obsession of love and the love of obsession. Sherl writes prose with a poets grace; his future could not be brighter." I would give 6 stars if i could. I really liked book 1 and book 2 a lot.
    Four Stars
    a little too much drama...
    Five Stars
    Wonderfull
    very moving, emotive romance
    Turquoise Green Winter, Carina Bartsch
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
    Â
So, the story continues with the misunderstandings causing even more troubles. Emely has wanted Elyas to stop texting and seeking her out for ages, so why now he has is she missing him? Why does her life feel so empty without ElyasÂin it? ÂWhy has he stopped contact, what brought that on?ÂWhat about Luca too, he seems to have gone from emailing constantly, replying back immediately she writes,Âto contacting very infrequently saying heâs âbusyâ. Heâs always been busy though so what has changed? Poor Emely is in a state of confusion about her feelings for both of them.
Thereâs a time whereÂElyas seems to beÂavoidingÂEmely, and then she starts to follow him round, trying to see if she can initiate contact, pluck up courage to ask him whatâs changed.ÂÂThen some major things happen, they talk finally,Âand Âdiscover things neither knew about the other. TheyÂfinally give in to the attraction and are blissfully happy...for a very short while . Then something Elyas has done comes back to haunt him, and once again Emely has her heart shattered. Again from knowing both sides we can see itâs not just her thatâs heartbroken but Elyas too ÂIs there a way forward for them, or has their chance at love gone? Its as if they are fated to be in love with each other but everything keeps going against them. Once again there are things neither know that could make a huge difference.
Another book full of emotion, even more soÂthan the first. I loved it, loved the way things were drawn out, mulled over, how we saw both sides of the story. Its something that I could see happening in real life. I enjoyed the way it wasnât sex, sex, sex, that's fine in some books, and I enjoy itÂbut wouldnât have worked here.ÂThe way its constructed with those tantalising kisses, and suggestive touches were far more erotic than if the novel had pictured them having sex far sooner.

    Awful narrator
Soooo many mispronounced words -- especially names of places - not only in this book, but in Men in Kilts, The Great Scot and Some Like It Scot. Words like Maryland spoken by a native Marylander. The word lascivious was slaughtered do badly it took quite some time to discern what the word was - other simpler words badly pronounced as well.
Loved the stories - hated the narration.
    Too much dialog, detail...
Would you try another book from Donna Kauffman and/or Chloe Lynn?
I will take the other reviews into more consideration in the future. Many people seemed to think this book was too long and I definitely agree.
    Any additional comments?
I am wondering if this book is ever going to get over. I just want answers to questions, not all this talk and talk and talk....... Good gravy. It is a great story, but I kind of feeling like I am being lectured. I got through the first book without too much problem, but this one is just dragging. I think I will skip the last one, so I hope most of my questions are answered by the end of this one.

She's cautious, careful - and about to lose control of her future to a marriage of inconvenience. So, what can reluctant bride Katie McAuley do? Easy - let a modern-day prince charming spirit her away for a month to his Scottish castle. There she can take refuge from her overbearing family and finally figure out what she really wants. But the more Katie sees of Graham McLeod, the harder it's getting to keep their arrangement strictly business....
As McLeod clan leader, Graham had always placed duty to his heritage and people before everything else. Now with Katie as his "betrothed", he's finally satisfied a ridiculously outdated marriage pact to wed a McAuley descendant, letting him focus on more pressing matters, like preventing a ruthless relative's takeover of his home island. If he could just keep Katie's courage and honesty at arm's length, not to mention their all-too-sizzling attraction....

    Lacking most of the time
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It just went on an on about the same things and then you would get a small ray of hope and then nothing.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    more action not repetitive
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator did a good job with what she had to work with
Did Some Like It Scot inspire you to do anything?
    Fall to sleep
    Any additional comments?
This could of been a great story that's why I keep listening hoping it would pick up
    Great story
Would you consider the audio edition of Some Like It Scot to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version but I would probably have liked it better.
What aspect of Chloe Lynns performance would you have changed?
She has a very pleasant voice and a slight Scottish accent. Unfortunately there aren't individual characters. She as the same accent no matter who is speaking....male/female, American/Scott. There were a few times that I lost who was speaking.
But it's not bad enough not to listen to. I do plan to pick up the others as well. It wasn't bad I just find it easier to listen to if character voices are established then I don't loose my place.
    Any additional comments?
I did love the story. Here you had a Scottish hunk who was essentially a book nerd/professor type person who had to get married or loose his place as laird. The story developed rather nicely. I'll pick up the next one.

Of course, I never considered our relationship might be based on lies...or that his betrayal could rock my foundation and make me question everything I believed in

    pretty lame
The story is pretty lame and totally predictable. The continued references to anything Ivy League are annoying and just plain wrong. For example, Princeton is not a place you "try out" after getting booted out of Yale. They don't even accept transfers from any other school. Characterizing drunken do-nothings as Ivy Leaguers is the worst kind of stereotyping. The author seriously needs to get a clue.
The narrator speaks at a rapid pace that makes her sound like she's in a perpetual argument. Fading in and out of strange accents does nothing to enhance the story.
I won't bother with any more of this series.

    Sweet read
    Any additional comments?
I thought this was a lovely read, about love, finding your way, stalking, coming home, and to top it off suspense, mystery and romance.
Sarah comes home to her hometown to get away from a stalker. She wants her life back, she is coming back to a small town where she was raised, with people who have know her since birth there she will find open arms, friends and her family love. She has spent her life working for other and wants to live her dream of opening her own bakery. She opens Sarahs Nook where she bakes like a dream her food is to die for. Her dreams are coming true just a few things get in her way. One ex-Navy SEAL and one stalker she thought she left behind.
When Allan comes walking into her life and rocks her world she just isnt ready for this nor does she have the time for romance. She must get this bakery off the ground and find out who is stalking her. Why this person has followed her, what could they have in store for her and what could they want from her? Every time she turns around he is there, helping her, and the attraction is strong. Is this something she can afford to walk away from?
Allan is an ex Navy Seal turn to Coastguard with a sweet tooth not only for Sarah baking but for Sarah herself, he has his own ideas one look was all it took to know she is the one just as he knew the little town of Pride was where he would live. He isnt giving up, no sir, he will get this one lady if it is the last thing he does. He makes sure he is there every time she is in need, this stalker has him worried but no way will he get her for he is her one man savor no way no how will anyone get to her they will have to come through him first.
The town of Pride is where everyone would want to live its a town full of love and friendship. Everyone knows everyone, they step in to help as needed. Its a town full of love, hope and dreams where when you are down on your luck there are no question ask they step up to the plate and give what is needed. I so want to move to Pride Oregon and be wrapped into the love of these wonderful characters. I loved the plot where you just never know what is going to happen. The author spins a wonderful tale of suspense with wonderful touching character that will leave your heart filled with warmth.
This book was so believable from the beginning to the end. Allan steals your heart when he brings home Beast his new puppy. He puts him down for the night but the dog wasnt having it.

On her own in the Big Apple, Jenna Jay Scroggs can handle herself when trouble arises. But when she tries to rescue a horse, the passionate do-gooder ends up on a runaway Central Park carriage ride with a hunky stranger. With his sexy drawl and well-worn Levis, Beauregard Cates is doing his darnedest to make Jenna homesick for the small western town she's spent years trying to forget. And it's working: She's dangerously close to falling head over boot heels for the rugged rodeo star with hair the color of moonshine. Beau came to the big city to escape his past and live life to the fullest. Yet the leggy blonde with eyes as blue as a western sky causes a real hitch in his giddy-up. So when the well-meaning folks of Bramble plot to bring Jenna home, Beau will need to convince her that she won't ever get Texas out of her blood - or one good-time, ever-lovin' cowboy out of her heart.

The Hen's are back and matchmaking....
Once you come under the radar of Ms Hatties Henhouse and the folks of Bramble, TX beware the matchmaking that will ensue.
In this latest installment in the series we get two couple that are ensnared in Ms Millie's web of meddling.
Beauregard Cates and Jenna Jay Scroggs - In previous book we learned Beau had cancer and went through the horrendous treatment to get rid of it which not only changed the color of his hair to silver but also changed his outlook on life and not for the better. When the last test he's gotten showed something on the x-ray instead of sticking around and finding out if the cancer was back he decided to run and live hard and dangerously. When Ms Millie asks him to locate another Bramble native who ran from her problems to New York he's surprised at his reaction to the blonde skinny tomboy who isn't really his normal type. Jenna Jay never felt like she belonged in her over achiver dark haired family. Because she always felt like she never fit in she's always fought for the underdog which in her adult years turned into fighting for causes. She's confused when she gets an invitation from Millie to come back to Texas and become a hen. Neither Beau nor Jenna Jay had any intention of going back to Texas but that choice it taken away from them when they are kidnapped and find their destination to be Bramble and that the town had instigated the kidnapping. Beau and Jenna Jay were two people who did not want to be attracted to each other and fought it but there attraction and the busy bodies of the town made sure that didn't last for long.
Pastor Robbins and Marcy - There initial meeting in the library was very humorous. Pastor Robbins may be a pastor but he is still a man with carnal thoughts. Marcy has been known as the town tramp for most of her life and most of it her own making. Not having a father figure growing up she tried to fill that void with sleeping with lots of men. When she applies for a job at Ms Hatties Henhouse she mistakenly thinks it really is a house of ill repute and that she is apply for a position of one of the "girls". Even though she thinks badly of herself she can't quite bring herself to get in the mood to take her first customer so she goes to Pastor Robbins with a proposition to be her first customer. Yes you read that right she went to a pastor and asked him for sex. The poor man didn't know what hit him.
