Daring, Indeed...

Would you consider the audio edition of The Venetian's Daring Seduction to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, so cannot comment.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Celina. She really needed a friend to talk to. When she began searching for her identity, she did it on her own terms. This book could have been titled "The American's Daring Seduction," as Celina was really the one at risk. I also liked the rapport she developed with Massimo while in his home and the respect she gave him.

Have you listened to any of Nancy Linaris other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to two other performances by Nancy Linari for the same author. This is middle of the road.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a lingering response to this book. Whenever love stories of past and present meet, I ponder the love, regrets, and what-ifs of the past; then I imagine happy endings and cozy Christmases for the present. It makes me smile.

Any additional comments?

I started out disliking Lucca, but he grew on me. After all, he was only trying to protect his grandfather, though he went to extremes. But by the time they got to the gondola scene, he had me hooked.

Well Done

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story itself and the narration. I'm a big Tanya Eby fan, and that's what motivated my purchase. I'm not generally drawn to romance novels narrated by men, but I liked the split narration of 2 really strong actors. Will Damron is now on my list of go-to narrators.

The story is well told and there's a twisty journey as we head towards our required happy ending. If you like dogs in your stories, like me, the inclusion of King, the German Shepherd, is a bonus. And I'm totally curious about Nick and Harper now. Lol.

3.5 OK.... BUT I JUST DIDN'T FEEL THE 'SIZZLE'

I liked this story but I just didn't love it - there were the annoying parts as successful star Lawyer the hardass Caitlin stepped on anyone, and their feelings, to get what she wanted. There were the yummy parts when Eli came into the picture and started to melt the Ice Queen and showed her that there may just be more to life than work. And then there were the very sexy parts as Eli taught Caitlin how to slow down and enjoy the ride not just the destination.

What I didn't feel was the building romance and any sizzling connection between them - if they weren't falling out then they were f'ing. Oh, there were chapters when I thought finally they would both get their act together and then the relationship could work but then misunderstandings, jumping to conclusions and lost time when Caitlin would be consumed again with her work, would get in their way. Even the ending was a bit anti-climactic and not sigh-worthy because once again, in between the "I love yous" Caitlin argued to get her way. I think my basic problem was that I just didn't like Caitlin.... yes she did undergo major character growth but it wasn't enough for me to reconnect with her. Eli gave the relationship a good try and was patient and understanding and I don't blame him for kicking her out when he caught her texting while he was 'occupied' between her thighs!

Worth a credit? Told from Caitlin's POV, a good narrator who did the male voices really well and plenty of other listeners have given this 4/5 stars so I'm sure I'm very much in the minority here. However, when you just can't connect to a book (for whatever reason) then the story looses its appeal in some way, I preferred the first book in this series (somehow the review was lost) but I don't think I'll be carrying on with this series. Looking back on this listen IMO I think no to a credit but yes if it's on sale.

Loved it

Summer Montomery wasn't about to let anyone boss her around. She wanted to be taken serious.

Her brother Zach just treated her like she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life, ok maybe she didn't. She would eventually. The thing that scared her right now was he was going to go on a big climb. Zach was so stubborn he couldn't be wavered by her demands to not go. They fought all the time. So she just needed away from him. Well now Zack was pissed. His best friend, and VP of his company Ethan Reed volunteered to track her down.

Once Ethan found Summer one thing led to another and well they figured it was a one time thing. Ethan went back because he was going on the climb with Zack. But in the last minute didn't work that way.

A situation presented itself with Ethan, Summer, and Gabriella all in Fair Banks, Alaska. It was clear the attraction between Zack and Summer was far from over.

An unforeseen accident and all the family is waiting for news. It brings much anxiety between the family. Plus Ethan and Summer. Can they overcome it?

Highly Recommend this series. So good.

One of my favorite parts was when Summer proved to her family, brother, and Ethan she could do something worthy for the family company.

Matchmaker William Montgomery Strikes again

The Beautiful and eclectic Summer Montgomery is the only girl in her family. She has three older brothers, who needless to say are very protective of her. No guy is ever good enough for her. Summer has had a huge crush on her brother Zach's best friend Ethan since she was little. So when the opportunity presents itself she makes a move for Ethan and shows him how she feels about him.

Ethan is an only child and has known the Montgomery family since he was a kid. He is also the Vice President of their Portland office. He has had feelings for Summer for a long time, but was unaware of her feelings for him. Not that he intended to act on those feelings because her family would not be happy with him.

So Once Summer makes her move on Ethan they have to decide if it should be a one time thing or if it was something worth fighting for.

This book is so sweet. I loved the characters and the story line. It is also a great intro to the main characters for the next book I'll Be There.

William Montgomery strikes again!! Haha I love it! I can't get enough of the Montgomery crew! This is one of the Montgomery Cousins story. Summer has always had a thing for her brother Zach best friend Ethan. They all grew up together. Only problem is he is blind to her wanting him. Summer is care free and a free spirit but longs for everyone to see that she's not a baby anymore especially Ethan.

Another great book and story in the series. can't wait to see what is next.

The story was fine, the narrator was horrible

This is the first time that I have found a narrator so horrible that I felt compelled to write a review. Her voice was irritating and the the attempts at changing tone to indicate different characters was horrendous. I have listened to some who were not my favorites and most who add a lot to the enjoyment of a story, but Jigisha Patel is someone I will avoid at all costs.

loved the whole series and the spinoff. However this book was painful to get thru the narrator was terrible. I'm sorry to be so blunt the story was wonderful.

amazing read

I found this story when i sesrched othet narrations by be Mr. Gates. This story was one of the best. I've listened to it 3 or 4 times and it has me hooked from start to finish. This happens when a plot is well executed and the characters are interesting. I cannot wait for part two.

A sweet story about second chances

Would you listen to Beyond the Waves again? Why?

Yes. It was a very enjoyable story and the narrator did a very good job of pulling you into the story and keeping you interested. It's also handy to be able to listen to a book if you need to get things done.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked Kylen. I enjoyed how he wooed Taysia. It was so sweet. He just came across as a really nice guy.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved all the gifts Ky gave Taysia. She tried to play it down but she found herself rushing home each day to see what he left for her. It was a lot of fun.

Any additional comments?

The story is sweet, the narration is great and I definitely recommend it.

Will forgiveness lead to love...?

Beyond The Waves is a sweet, lovely romance set on the Pacific coast. Taysia and Kylen are two very flawed characters who have made some big mistakes in the past but with faith in God are trying to put the past behind and make something of the future. The question is can they find forgiveness and make a future together? Lynnette Bonner is a talented author who can write both historical and contemporary romances equally as well.

I listened to the Audible edition of this book and really enjoyed it. The narration was good, the voice drawing me further and further into the story. I kept finding every excuse to sneak back to my Kindle and listen for awhile. An overall enjoyable listen.

A nice, clean story that I enjoyed quite a bit!

I would recommend this book to a friend because it was engaging from the beginning, and had storyline elements that appealed to me, as a woman -- pregnancy (former Lamaze teacher here), falling in love, tension having to do with dating, past betrayals and looking to heal those hurts and move on.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beyond the Waves?

I really enjoyed the part in the book (no spoilers, going to be vague here) where one of the side characters was poised to make a really difficult and possibly damaging decision, and I was glad to see how the author worked that problem out with a realistic solution for all involved.

Excellent compilation...

I enjoyed 3 out of the 4 books. Surprisingly, the last book was my favorite and best composed IMO.
