Beautiful Story

Just ok

This story had potential the outline for a really good read was there but in the end it really fell short. There were places when a character would say something referring to a conversation that hadn't happened and your trying to figure out what their talking about. Overall it seemed rushed and not completely well thought out. The narrator could have been a lot better as well sometimes you couldn't make out what she was saying, while she was speaking English.

inconsistent storyline

I struggled with this one. I wanted to like it, but the storyline had inconsistencies throughout. This needed a thorough content edit. The narrator was ok, but I didn't understand the accent as the author said he was American and she made him sound English but yet the people who were actually from the country they were in didn't have accents. it was odd. I don't think the conflict was developed well either. who cares she didn't know who he really was he had only known her like 5 days and all of a sudden they are just so in love they have to get married? hmmm I'm glad this was free. I'd be mad if it weren't.

Communication is Key

One of the things I really appreciated about this book was that a good chunk of the drama was mainly family drama. It's so rare for soap operas on television to actually show a couple have some problem that isn't either death or someone trying to come between them. In the case of this book, it was Bryce and Tara having issues due to (1) their son having autism and (2) Bryce worrying that his son was going to end up schizophrenic like his mother.

I like the way the drama played out. It started off with us seeing Bryce and Tara on the outs, and Tara not really understanding why Bryce wasn't being as attentive at home. It also showed that they each have a very supporting family, though Tara's is larger and Bryce only has his sister. I also liked the relationship that Bryce and Kristin have. It was very much like my relationship with my sister. Supportive, but also willing to call each other out when they're being stupid.

My very favorite part was the ending of this part of Bryce and Tara's story. They ended up having their home to themselves, and Bryce was cooking dinner like he'd done in the past. And he actually *told* Tara about his issues with his mother, and the reveal that his mother is still alive. But they actually communicated! So very rare in soap opera-type stories. I really appeciated that.

The downside to this book is that we still had to deal with Dakota and Senator Rush. Granted, I am anticipating what Dakota will do with her newfound knowledge that Senator Rush slept with Ginny, only in that I want to see Senator Rush revealed for the terrible person he is. I'm assuming we'll find that out in the last book of this season. Either way, I still can't stand Dakota, which is unusual because I tend to like those pariah-type characters, such as Kendall Hart on All My Children or Carly Benson on General Hospital. Typically I can find something to relate to them, but I'm having a hard time with Dakota, mainly because she is so utterly selfish and really terrible to her mom. Maybe Book 8 will have a turning point for her. Or maybe I'll need to wait until the second season to see her become more of a character I like. Here's hoping, anyway...

Another Great Episode

I have loved this series since episode one but this part was extremely touching. We find out that Byrce & Tara's son has been diagnosed with Autism and as much as Tara is trying to do all she can to help him her husband is in denial and the strain on their marriage is heartbreaking. Se watch them struggle and you are hoping they can find a way back to each other.

Dakota is a woman scorned and we are seeing secrets start to fall about and I know I want to be there and watch and read where this all goes.

This series is not only one you don't want to miss you are drawn in and all you can say is bring on the next one.

One story goes forward, one ends, and the others ...

Bad, just bad. The author should not have read it.

The book was ordinary; then made awful when the author read it. This should be re-recorded by a professional. It might help make the story a little better. But for now its awful. I'd rather have the computer read it to me. The character development is minimal, the storyline is dull, the ending is typical. No interest kept. A waste.

Great Audiobook

I initially had reservations about the author being the narrator, but I was soon proved wrong. I enjoyed the author's narration. She did a great job. I thought the plot & characters were entertaining. The love scenes were HOT! I would recommend listening to this audiobook.

I truly enjoyed the storyline and that it kept me guessing where it was going. As a listener I loved the fact that I was connected and engaged with the main characters and invested in the plot the entire time.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really love the pool scene where he's swimming and she's watching. The entire encounter between them is intriguing.

Lovely to MS Parkers voice very soothing

I loved reading this book and listening to the authors take on her ownnstory was different. Very enjoyable.

Amazing!!!!!

Amazing amazing amazing!!!! Loved this book! This book has you falling in love with both Eli and Layla right away. It will have you laughing and crying and make you feel every emotion the characters themselves are feeling.

Also great narration, you can hear the emotion in both narrators. You're still about to lose yourself in the story while you listen.

Why why why?????

Why do this to people? This was just a major kick in the stomach. I read prior book to know what happened... I wish this book was about how two people decided to take a chance on love... Happy... The end. Not to have this happen...

TWICE. I have endure this tragedy from Cooper and Jaylinn's story... And now this. I was hoping it was not gonna end that way.

A compelling story that gripes your heart

Would you consider the audio edition of Stay for Me to be better than the print version?

The print version of this story just wraps your heart and soul up and capture your attention. I found the audible equally as gripping with the storyline, however found the man narrator to be a bit distracting. His voice was just all wrong for Eli Sabatino. It was too dark, menacing of a voice for this already deeply dark and emotional read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Eli. I've loved his story from the the moment we met him in Let Me Love You. I want him to have his happily ever after. I want to know more about this man who loves unconditionally and opens his heart to a family, not just a girl.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Both voices were crisp, clear, and easy to understand. The girl narrator was much less distracting than the man, only because her voice did not have a harsh edge to it. Both narrators did change their tones when speaking as a woman and a male, which is common in audibles, but I found them a bit distracting and not necessarily needed. I would not have picked the man narrator for Stay For Me. This story already hints at a dark emotional storyline at the very beginning and from that moment on I felt like I was in a private investigator movie from the early 40's.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book gobbles my heart and soul up every single time I read it. Eli and Laila's story is breathtakingly beautiful. It is to date, no doubt in my eyes, Megan Smith's best book. In Stay for Me, she connects you so deeply to these characters that you feel their love, devotion and loss.

I don't really like dominant men, but Trent is ok...he is a little too much, but just enough for Lillian....there relationship grew from his abruptness and he really cared for her...he needed someone with a backbone and she came along and it just worked... This was a fun and sexy listen, with great narration and if you like this genre...this is one not to miss!

very domineering

I loved fifty shades of Grey. but this was not fifty shades. there were so many points in the book I'm like, no, this is a very unhealthy relationship, your boss of only a day should not ask those kinds of things of you. I don't care who or why, I will never send nude or sexy photos to anyone. and to try to control who I can see or talk to or where I go is never going to happen. and as far as sex whenever or where ever it is demanded is called rape. I like dirty and sexy hard core books but this one was not for me.

disappointed in this book

this could have been a sweet love story but there was way too much sex for my taste. I really don't want to know what goes on in someones bedroom...blow by blow...ugh. all the this not what I want in a book. I kept hoping these two would get married, but the didn't...guess I am old fashioned, and think marriage should come before sex. I know this is what is "normal" in today's world, but I still don't think it is right to"shack up" just because it is "what everyone else is doing. can I give a rating of zero. I will be asking my money back. I don't know why illicit sex is what some authors think is necessary. I would not reccommend this book at all!!!!!

Lacked something?

I am a middle aged (disgusting words) listener and I do enjoy a younger ages heroine if the story is decent but some just miss the mark a bit. Caitlin Kelly, in my opinion, did not spend enough time in the back story. I realize most books do enjoy teasing you in the unfolding of events but we are told from the very beginning that Clementine was in an abusive relationship. She spends the rest of the 6 hours in the mindset of a beaten down woman but doesn't ever show the extent of the abuse to warrant it.

I did find the story somewhat enjoyable and did finish the audiobook. I guess it just depends on the listener's age group!

The narrator did a great job with the emotions and I would recommend her work.

I Guess Listeners Love or Hate This Bookl-Me? Love

Emmie marries her first and only love right after high school, and then life became unbearable. Her husband, Ashton, became mentally, verbally and physically abusive. One night he follow through with his threat, if she left him he would kill himself.

She moved away not able to bear all the sympathetic glances, kind words and to try to get away from the guilt.

She moved in with her mum and pursues her love of art, as far as she could with her online classes. Finally, she decided to head to New York City and finish her studies chasing a dream she has had since she was little.

Once there she needs an eclectic group of people who insist on tearing down her walls.

Wendy Owens has written a wonderful and believable novel.

Caitlin Kelly is a wonderful performer in her narration. The cast of characters of 20 somethings and she does a fantastic job giving each one a unique voice. She is one of the few who have the talent of portraying female and male characters in a realistic sounding way.

Promises!!!

Willow and Wendy had a difficult childhood, wendy's mother died, Willow's mother was never in the picture and their father William "Billy" Blake left them for long periods of time alone....Wendy went out of her way to make sure that Willow had everything she'd ever wanted, she made sure Willow went to school even if the latter thought their father was the one paying her tuition.

When their father passed away due to cancer, Willow made a vow that he would be the only man she would ever loved. That was until the day Caleb Harris walked into her life.

Caleb Harris had known Billy Blake, the latter saved him when he was living on the streets of Vegas ; and he was the only man the former looked up to as a father figure. So when he found himself in trouble, Caleb went in search of Billy only to received the news of him passing.

When Willow found a wounded Caleb at her door, she wanted to call the police but Caleb made her promise not to. As Willow nursed him back to health, they got closer and she learned things about her father she didn't know.

Caleb knew that getting involved with Willow was a bad idea but she found her way under his skin. Walking away from her was the hardest thing he'd ever done. It was as if he'd ripped out his heart and leaving it behind.

When Caleb realized he couldn't trust the people who'd sworn to protect him, he did everything in his power to protect Willow and Wendy. It was great catching up with the Graytons and meeting new characters.

SWEPT AWAY was majestically beautiful, the way Willow transformed over the years was well done. The love and respect she had for Wendy pulled at my heartstrings. Jill Sanders captured Willow's essence beautifully. 5++++

Couldn't read the entire book

I loved the first 3 books in this series. I did not like book 4 but I had to read book 5 to see how the series concluded. I should have stopped at book 3. I couldn't even read the entire book. It was difficult to past the fact that the main character had the same name as a deceased character in a previous book. Was this intentional to make the reader believe he was still alive? I don't think so. The plot line was not good. Save your money.

The unexpected

The only series of Jill Sanders' I have not read is her Secret Series so this book came as quite the surprise. I didn't read and of the blurbs or synopsis I just bought it because Jill wrote it. I didn't expect a romantic suspense. That said, Swept Away, was and awesome read. I highly recommend it.

A heartwarming story that I read twice!

A heartwarming story that I enjoyed enough to read twice!

This is a superb story of three children who triumph over child abuse, neglect and homelessness. Against all odds they find a way to make a new life for themselves. The author does a wonderful job of taking us into the world of abused and homeless children without making us sad or resorting to any offensive material. For anyone who has had a difficult childhood, this book will be inspirational.

I would like to see a copy in every school library and hopefully one day made into a movie.

Not a favorite

I have read the Ghost No More series by Cee Cee James i loved them but this one was a bit slow especially in the middle I almost quit it but thankfully It picks back up. The narrator was OKAY but over dramatic at times. I hope book 2 picks up the pace.

Beautiful!

can't wait to read the second book! I really like how the past and the present were woven in together; it brought out why Miranda was the way she is and was revealed slowly instead of all at once giving the book at good pace. Also in the flashbacks, some of Jason was revealed also.

The circumstances that brought them back together was tragic, but if she hadn't run the second time, Miranda and Jason wouldn't have found each other. As it came out later in the book, Jason is a runner also. I do wish there had been more on how they found their "uncle". I really wanted to know because I became invested in their story, past and present.

Emma Clark did a fantastic job on the narration. She infused each character with their own distinct personality, didn't go too fast or too slow.

I highly recommend this book.

It's been a fun ride as a single guy, but he's tired of being the third wheel, and nearly losing his brother-in-law finally made him realize just how much he wants a family of his own. When the new guy at the firehouse turns out to be a capable, confident, and very attractive woman, his plan is completely derailed.

Hooking up with a fellow firefighter has never been part of Jamie's plan, but she's tempted by Scott - even though getting involved with him could tarnish the reputation she's worked so hard for. And Scott can't stop thinking about Jamie, despite the fact that she's his superior and not sticking around. Breaking the Rules

Scottt Kincaid has problems. After seeing his Lieutenant marry his sister Ashley and his best friend Aiden with his other sister Lydia, Scottt decided he wanted the marriage and family thing himself. Since the women he had been dating did not meet his criteria for a potential spouse. He stopped dating. Instead, he began looking for spouse potential in any woman who attracted him â so far with no success. Then Lieutenant Jamie Rutherford was assigned to Engine 59 as a temporary replacement for Lt. Danny, who is out with serious injuries.

Jamie is quite determined to ever be involved with a subordinate. That could be devastating to the reputation she has carefully built as an outstanding firefighter worthy of her advancement through Boston Fire. She fought the tingle she felt the first time she met Scott, but it kept getting stronger. Meanwhile Scott, always a stickler for the rules, caved almost immediately. Since Jamie was only there temporarily, Scott decided the rules didnât really apply â they could have a fling while she was with Engine 59. It wasnât long before he convinced Jamie to embark on a âsecretâ fling â they would tell no one about it â although neither of them was quite comfortable lying about their relationship.

A few weeks later, Ashley and Lydia asked Jamie to join them in a shopping trip and girlsâ night. When Jamie acted surprised at their questions about her relationship with their brother, Lydia pointed out that it was no secret â they had known that Scott and Jamie had been sleeping together for weeks. Obviously, their secret was out.

Along with the romance, Fully Ignited includes enough of the daily activities of the firefighters to help the reader understand the stress of being a firefighter â or the wife or girlfriend of one. The old Engine 59 code of not dating sisters, ex-wives or ex-girlfriends of fellow firefighters still haunted Scott. Similarly, the discomfort of dating her subordinate shadowed Jamie.
