Publisher's Summary:
Kat Bronsky, FBI agent and terrorism specialist, is assigned the hunt for a Challenger-class business jet seen nearby just before the incident. The case poses countless questions: was the flash a pilot error, a missile attack, or a malfunction? Or was it some new kind of weapon? And why are several government agencies interested in what Kat uncovers?

She's not an FBI agent, she's Super Girl!!
A really good novel depends on the reader suspending disbelief. This one left me saying to myself, "C'mon!" on nearly every page.
The heroine of the piece, FBI agent Kat Bronsky is way too good to be true. I expected her at any moment to rip off her blouse and reveal herself as Super Girl or Wonder Woman.
Starts out the author shares with us that she has a degree in psychology. OK. She specializes in terrorism. OK. She has a small aircraft pilot's license, OK. One interesting side note - this novel was written before 9/11...but at one point one of the characters hypothesizes terrorists taking off from JFK and flying into the world trade center. Maybe the real FBI should've paid attention.
Later she has to pilot a helicopter and, oh, by the way, she had a few hours of helicopter training. Then she's required to pilot a business jet and guess what? Yep, she's qualified on twin engine jet.
This nonsense just goes on and on, ruining for me at least, what is a pretty good plot. Also, one narrow escape after another often depending on way implausible coincidences further ruins the experience.
I know a lot of people really liked this book, but I'm not one of them.
A female super James Bond....and that's not a good thing.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and have bought the next one
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and have bought the next one. It was action from the start and every page brought a new exciting development. Whether you believe the plot is far fetched or not and you could bend either way it is one of the best escapism novels I've read for a while. Can't wait to read the next book.

Its been several weeks since i read this book or should I say "almost read this book. I was expecting a book germain to aircraft technology. Instead I got a low level, poor quality WHO DONE IT that I eventually gave up on and I didn't finish the last 60 or so pages. My Nance is a qualified aeronautical persona, but his fictional writing does not inspire me. I guess Ive been spoiled by books by Michael Connately and John Sandford. I guess it is what it is. Sorry for the negative report, I much prefer to praise rather than demean authors.

Journalist + FBI Agent = My Kind of Story
If youâre looking for a story that will have you on the edge of your seat, this book is for you. There is no letting up . . . I really enjoyed the non-stop action on the plane, in the jungle, in Seattle . . . and all points in between. MacCabe and Bronsky make a fabulous team.

Nance does a very good job of writing the plot in a manner that presents the picture of what is happening.
A great book.
