Very Informative

This is a great book that leaves no stone unturned. It's a very informative book to help those who have questions about John of God and/or to help prepare those who are going to visit John of God in Brazil.

Good to buy before your trip, I'd recommend it...

I'd say get this if you're making a journey to Brazil. I haven't left yet and am really glad I bought this. It's already given me a few ideas I wouldn't have had on my own; that I believe will be useful. Seems like a worthwhile investment to prepare yourself. She is both a Casa Guide and a therapist by trade, so it's a good reference for thinking through the journey. I probably will bring it along on the airplane to re-read.

I love this book! it is a must read for anyone interested in runes or Norse mythology. very detailed and complete, I am very impressed. it covers everything you need to know about how to get started successfully using and learning the runes. highly recommend!

Lots of history

This book took a long time getting to the runic portion. It covered a lot of Nordic history. the title of the book I felt was very misleading.

Mesmerizing & hopeful

I was hooked from the beginning. I finished the book in 2 days. It is very well told.

From someone who grew up with card readings and "trabajos" being a normal and harmless thing, this book opened my eyes to all darkness I was inviting into my life. Those things now have a different meaning simply because of the fact that the explanation is coming directly from someone who experienced the dark side first hand. Offending Jesus is something I never want to do.

This book is a great read for those who are lost, strayed and even hopeless.

Your story John has even given me a new perspective on parenting. I don't think a lot of parents realize the damage that is done to a child's spirit with a few harsh words. In your case John, pushed you towards the dark side. I will forever think before I speak to my children.

Can't get enuf scientific facts!

I love reading books that show science in its true light and glory- our only method of discovering anything for real! (Or until we find new evidence to real it up a little closer)

I can't get enuf and loved this book!

Well written

I've heard several of these arguments before but there are still additional hypothesis that add to the scientific response to theism. I also applaud the insistence that science does have something to say about God. I've always found it incredibly foolish (and hypocritical) for theistic elements to stomp on science with their money, politics and dictatorial fear mongering but then insist on seperation from scientific fact when those facts disprove their own authority and do so calmly and with a decorum the religious seem to lack. Stenger insists that the nature of the God Hypothesis means it CAN be disproven with science and he does so beautifully.

Decent Book. Failed Performance.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. There are better books on the topic and the narration of this edition is distractingly bad.

N/A.

Would you be willing to try another one of David Smalleys performances?

No. The least this guy (or his producer) could have done is research basic pronunciations. The reading is so distractingly bad as to spoil what is otherwise a competent volume.

Was God - the Failed Hypothesis worth the listening time?

It's essential reading in this field and therefore worth the listen. The performance of the book did nothing for me other than make it so that I could absorb the book while driving.

Any additional comments?

Many of us have waited hopefully for Stenger's volumes to come to audiobook form. I'm guessing that the publisher knew this and rushed the book to audio form.

Hard research only, with little speculation.

Any additional comments?

The Ramseys and Dr. Thayer did impressive research for their book. Their work is completely hard data from mostly first person sources and various records with very little speculation (which sometimes hurts work in this category). Some areas where they openly disagree with "debunkers" can be a little judgemental. Most of the information is correct but one area where they refer to the Army's CID as "Counter Intelligence Division" is incorrect. The Army's CID is Criminal Investigation Division, which is like the Army's internal FBI. Although given the context the CID would still be the investigating group. That one mistake I believe to be the only one in the book and it doesn't hurt the credibility very much. Despite this, I still think this is a worthy read for any serious UFO or anonymous phenomenon reader or researcher.

Most compelling ufo book on the market!

This book was very enjoyable to listen to! I was very surprised about how thorough thorough research was and how well they listed all of their sources! This is by far my favorite book in the field of ufology. I personally think they have shown without a doubt there was a UFO crash in Aztec. I look forward to reading more of their work. I must also mention that they were great at keeping this audience entertained while explaining all the documentation and research that took place.

is it safe to just say the same thing over and over again you summed it up in about 4 hours I struggled with it with an audio book

It is important to understand some of the background information on the people involved, but some of it drug on and on.

Ok book, a bit repetitive.

The author constantly says "I, Scott" seemed like about a hundred times, geeze. I give it a 6, not bad.
