    Great book!
I really liked this book. It is definitely better than the first one. I only wish that it was longer!
    love it!
Just as good as the first book. I'm about to get started on the next one. Can't put it down!
    good book
I was pretty involved to the end even though it was a chick flick.
    Great story
I love this series. I have read it a couple of times, and just got the audio book. I like the mix of so many different species, government involvement, possessive alpha, magic, shamans, and of course, visions of mates by the matefinder. This storyline differs from so many others. It is refreshing.
    fair Were, Vamp story.
I usually turn off stories where the main protagonist gets too powerful too quickly but the human side story of emotional turmoil allowed me to stay.

The legacy of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continues in a spin-off series from the number-one New York Times best-selling author....
Paradise, blooded daughter of the king's first advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood's training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself...be herself. It's a good plan until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it's very clear that the brother in charge, Butch O'Neal, aka the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.
And that's before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated - and left wondering whether she's strong enough to claim her own power...on the field and off.

BDB Spin Off Does Not Disappoint!
I was skeptical about JR Ward doing a spin off of the BDB series, and was afraid it would be more of a young adult novel due to the main storyline being about a training class. However,
I should've had more faith, this was classic JR Ward all the way, and I loved the spin off!
Blood Kiss does introduce us to some younger characters which is refreshing, but I was happy to see there was a strong presence of some of the original BDB characters including two of my favorite Vishous, and Butch. While the main plot is about Craeg and Paradise, the subplot with Butch and Marissa tied in nicely.
JR Ward is my favorite author! She knows how to write an awesome story that's full of romance, action and surprises.
This story was well worth the credit, and time well spent! I can't wait for the next book in the series. :-)
    YES!
I loved this book, truly had the feel of the first books in the series, took you back the start o the first trainees. She explores the psyche of Butch and Marissah. How things in their past has been affecting their behavior in and out of their mating. The new recruits on the scene are dealing with troubles of their own, some have lost their families in the raids and have nothing and no one left. New love is on the bloom or is it, our heroine and leading man are struggling to find their own paths in life. Like most you adults. there is a murder mystery to so and lots and lots of laughter.
    5 Stars
    12/7/15 First Listen
Love me some BDB! This is a new side series in the BDB Series and gives you a nice dose of the brothers along with new characters. I love the new characters too! So glad to see that the BDB World won't be ending anytime soon!
    1/12/18 Second Listen
I am re-listening to this series from the beginning now that book 3 is out. I have to say I think I may actually like this book even more the second time. I love how all of the trainees are very different and I really like that there are females in training too. It'd great how much of the BDB world is in this book too. It doesn't feel like a spin off to me, It feels like a BDB book all the way.

    A Fun Read
I did not want the book to end!
    1. Jessa Labron grows up literally in a fantasy/paranormal bubble. Werewolves, vampires, dragons, wizards, etc.
    2. Her best friends are the Compass quadruplets who are next in line to become rulers.
    3. Her father is one of the governing rulers, Jessa is unaware of her mother and twin sister who are introduced into the story at Jessa's great surprise.
We are introduced to the lifestyle and rules governing the paranormal society. The book ends in a cliff hanger.
There is some language and minimal romantic scenarios.
Fun twist on the alt universe fantasy theme
I continue to discover new writers with twists on the classic themes. This is indeed one of those. I appreciated that the main character wasn't an outcast or misunderstood but instead had solid relationships and friends. It was refreshing. I enjoyed this read. I recommend it for those who like the alt universe fantasy theme. Not a difficult read at all but fun.
    Yas!!!
Fabulous. Entertaining. Warning: do not read if you have a hard time waiting for a sequel.... Grrr.

    Typical NR
Kind of typical for a Nora Roberts magic trilogy. Three women, one kickass, one damaged and shy, one a little fey, and three men. All in a magical quests to find three things, stones in this case, but you could sub in fates or keys or whatever. The narrator does a great job in the women's voices, but the male accents are just kind of laughable and distracting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I found I had to rewind quite a bit because it didn't hold my attention. I'll get the rest when they come out, if I remember.
    Narrator has an irritating rasp
At the end of her phrases the narrator has used a highly irritating drop into a raspy end; it's a v trendy thing among young women but as a affect for an audio book it is most irritating
    Not good
What disappointed you about Stars of Fortune?
I LOVE Nora Roberts and this is probably her worst book. I'm very disappointed. The story is not developed and neither are the characters. I couldn't finish it
Not her best, hope the rest of the series is better
First, I found elements of this story to be a repeat of the O'Dwyer series which I loved, this was a weak copy. Second, I am really satisfied with Roarke's voice and the Irish voices in the O'Dwyer series and I found the narrator's voice for the two Irish men to be fake and annoying. I actually hope they will change narrators, it could greatly enhance the quality of the story.
the narrator is terrible/ story not well developed
What would have made Stars of Fortune better?
the story line is not very developed. I am becoming more and more disappointed by Ms Roberts writing style. There was no development of characters like she used to do. I was barely invested in the romance story. Very disappointed. The narrator was terrible pausing at the end of each statement was so annoying. Nothing like I am used to. Dont care if I read the rest in the series and I own every book in one form or another,
Would you be willing to try another one of Saskia Maarlevelds performances?
    NO

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn't know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.
Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged setup to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In 30 days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman's going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.
Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets....

Loved It!....... It was Clean, Funny, and Sweet!
What made the experience of listening to The Vampire's Mail Order Bride the most enjoyable?
There are three things I really liked about this story.
    1. The characters! I loved how both the main and supporting characters were developed. You also got a glimpse of the different characters that will be coming up in future stories.
    2. Nocturne Falls - Halloween all year long! I loved this town and all the creative shops and holiday's.
    3. The Plot - A funny light romance!
What about B.J. Harrisons performance did you like?
B.J. Harrison performance was hands down one of the best I've listened to. I loved how each character had their own voice and accent and was easily distinguishable between the characters. He was also did a great job projecting inflection into the tone of the characters throughout the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Laughed, Laughed, and Laughed! :-)
I loved Delaney and her inter thoughts, her random chocolate facts, and her cat "Captain Underpants."
    Any additional comments?
This was a fun story to listen to; it was clean, funny, and well written. I could easily listen to this story again and again!
    So much fun!
What did you love best about The Vampire's Mail Order Bride?
I really enjoyed the character development of the protagonists; you feel like you're part of their world and want to hang out with them.
What other book might you compare The Vampire's Mail Order Bride to and why?
The book is really one of a kind (I mean it's like Halloween year round!), but if I had to compare I'd say it's maybe a bit like the Half-Moon Hollow series by Molly Harper
What does B.J. Harrison bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I read the book and listened to it, so hearing B.J. Harrison lend voices to the characters was an added bonus. He has a real talent for inflection and you feel as if each character has his or own voice. I'll admit I was skeptical about the choice of narrator at first, but I was so wrong!
    Any additional comments?
Take a chance, use a credit, and listen to this book... it's light, fun, and entertaining! I loved this first book, and the other books in the series are wonderful also.

    GREAT START TO A SERIES!!!
GREAT START TO A SERIES I can't wait for the next book!! The Narrator did a good job after the 4th chapter! it kept going from super loud to super quiet at first but after the 4th chapter it stopped!
    great
The narrator, which I believe is as important as the story, is excellent. The story has a great plot line and strong characters.
Enjoyed but wish it had a little sex
This is a PG book. The story is good. Not sure if I am going to read the next one but am considering.
    Very good
I was a little worried at first because it seemed like instalove, which I hate, and I almost stopped reading but I am so glad that I didn't. The instalove makes sense and, believe me, they still have issues to work out so it's not 100% perfect lovey dovey all the time.

In the next book in Molly Harper's Half Moon Hollow paranormal romance series, Libby (a widow turned vampire) struggles with her transition and finds out it sucks to be the only vampire member of the PTA.....
Widow Libby Stratton arranged to be turned into a vampire after she was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. It wasn't the best idea she'd ever had, but she was desperate - she wasn't about to leave her seven-year-old son to be raised by her rigid, overbearing in-laws. On top of post-turning transition issues, like being ignored at PTA meetings and other mothers rejecting her son's invitations for sleepovers, Libby must deal with her father-in-law's attempts to declare her an unfit mother, her growing feelings for Wade - a tattooed redneck single dad she met while hiding in a closet at Back to School Night - and the return of her sire, who hasn't stopped thinking about brave, snarky Libby since he turned her. With the help of her new vampire circle, Libby negotiates this unfamiliar quagmire of legal troubles, parental duties, relationships, and, as always in Harper's distinct, comedic novels, "characters you can't help but fall in love with" (RT Book Reviews).

Love Half-Moon Hallow! If you are looking for a laugh out loud book then this is the series for you but start back with the Jane Jameson books!
    Vampire mom
Would you listen to The Single Undead Moms Club again? Why?
Yes i would listen again and again. This book as all other Molly Harper's books really keep me entertained.
What other book might you compare The Single Undead Moms Club to and why?
The Lady is a Vamp by Lyndsey Sands. This is a story about a parent who would do what is needed to help their child. This book was about a father who wanted to save his dying child and chose kidnap a vampire to have her changed to save her.
    Which scene was your favorite?
when Libby first awoke as a vampire and met Jane and Dick. Jane begins to get on to her for advertising for someone to change her into a vampire.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    My mom is a vampire
    Any additional comments?
As always, Molly Harper did not disappoint. Each time i read one of these stories i know i am going to get my laugh of the day. Poor Libby she has to face all types of problems after her change. Her in laws trying to take her son, someone trying to kill her, meeting her sire(who she is supposed to stay away from), meeting Wade( a single father), dealing with the school,PTA and finally meeting her father whom she has never known. Amanda Ronconi brings the characters to life.

Forced into acting as her protector, he finds himself intensely and passionately drawn to the woman who incites his primal instinct to claim. FULL OF ACTION, HEAT & GRRREAT CHARACTERS
After Zeke finds his true mate his long-time lover Seer Ally happily moves aside but her life becomes a living Hell because of the petty jealousies, vicious set-ups and pack manipulation caused by his mate. Ally is a strong female and can handle herself and all the trouble and she walks away from conflict every time but she's reaching her limit of bullshit and she knows it's time to leave.... but where to? Ally's very good and powerful friend Cain secretly hears about the trouble even though he is in prison and calls in a favor from someone who owes him one.... the broody, unsociable and yet loyal Beta from the Mercury pack.
Darren hates Seers and so too does most of the pack (for differing reasons) but he'd given his word and he can't go back on it even though he's tempted but as soon as he sees Ally his wolf sits up and takes notice. Oh, they both fight their attraction but the animal instinct wins over. They both think they can keep their relationship at just sex because misunderstandings are there from the start so they never suspect they will eventually become fierce, loving and protective true mates. But this is what happens..... especially when Ally's abilities as Seer saves lives, when her kickass no nonsense attitude is respected and when the sex brings them closer together.
With lots of different pack action as Ally settles in, there's murder and kidnapping attempts, bloodshed as fur fangs and claws come out and lots of suspicion as to who and why the drama is focused on the members of the Mercury pack. Also Zeke's bitchy mate isn't anywhere near finished with her deadly plans. As with SW's other Shifter books the sex scenes are great and the Hero is a dirty mouthed Alpha type who knows what he wants and loves and fiercely protects it when he gets it.... because nothing stands in his way (and don't you just love em).
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, addictive sexy and action-packed storyline and a great narrator who brought all the scenes and all the many characters to life which made a good book into an awesome listen. It would've been worth a credit but no need to spend one as I just buy books that are under $10 and save the credit for a more expensive (but maybe not as enjoyable) listen.
    Awesome Shifter Story!
This was another great shifter story by Suzanne Wright.

One very bad narrator - Zack Karem
The narration by Zack Karem is so horrible. It is like he is simply reading and not even comprehending the story. He fumbles over words, pauses in all of the wrong places and has no emotion in his voice. All other narrators are great - but I can't believe they put this bad one as the male lead on this audio. Every time it's Zack's POV, I become so distracted!! love the series, though.
    great book
I loved this 9th book..it told how everyone grew up and had kids of their own
    good story, too short.
good story. good revival of characters and nice timeline shift BUT WE ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF. books have gone from almost 10 hours to just over 5. 8 and 9 should havebeen combined.
also not happy about the arbitrary addition of werewolves.

Didn't like one of the narrators.
I think this book was wonderful, showing Sophia and Derek Novak as parents was a wonderful idea, and sharing the story from the point of view from there twins was also a great great idea, but the only thing I didn't like was the narrator of Aiden Claremont, like it was really horrible, did anybody noticed in one of the parts of the story if I am not mistaken the six Chapter when he goes into a throat clearing frenzy??? and also burps, like was that part of the story LOL, anyways I thought that was so disgusting... Like next time put mute on your recording or something and then continue the story please
    Disappointment
Well, I was intrigued in the beginning and even got sucked in but as soon as I started to embrace the story the book was over. This book was to rushed and didn't have enough development. They just started the plot and then the book was over. I get that they want to suck you in but at least leave off on a better cliff hanger.... Or something after more development happens. It was also too similar to the first shade book with just a slightly different twist. I was hoping with a little more of a storyline here. I will read the next one but if it's just as disappointing I will discontinue reading the series.
Great series, but one narrator is horrible!!
I am in to this series and will continue to the end. All of the narrations have been great up until this book when Caleb was introduced. The Caleb narrator is just awful. He stumbles over words and sounds as though is in just reading words off of a page. He pauses and puts inflections in all of the wrong places. It's totally distracting since he is the main male character. I will have to try very hard to focus on the story and not his horrible narration in the future books. Too bad no one really listened to how he sounds compared to a dynamic narrator like the narrator for Kiev who is great in this series. Still a fan but had to write a review on this one.
    one bad narrator; zach karem
great story and all other narrators excellent. I cant wait to listen to next book.
Not as good as the earlier books.
I was disappointed Rose told most of the story in this book. I'm fine with kids growing up and becoming part of the players, but Sofia had very little time in this book. If your using all the narrators, it would have been nice to have had Sophia and Derek's point of view during the major plot line. That made no sense. And while I'm all for the love at first sight, Rose showed no concern for what happen to her because she likes Caleb.
