Sifi, fantasy, time travel, and strong family bonds all rolled up into one with this thrilling tale!
I was super entertained by "The Eternal: Guardian of Light" it was definitely not what I was expecting. At first, the story starts off somewhat complex, but then as you progress into the meat of the tale things stretch out and the story unfolds before you. The Eternal, follows the life of a shaman named Auren who can move through time and space, different dimensions. He is after a group of evil being referred to as "Devians" some of which killed his wife and son, and have taken over his brother's body. As the story progresses Auren finds himself in modern times and has to quickly learn to adapt to new technologies. He makes some friends along the way, and some enemies. All the characters were well-developed and likeable, nothing seemed forced. Lozier's writing style is smooth and kept me engaged right to the end. This was definitely a book that I looked forward to its conclusion in complete anticipation, you just didn't really know how things were going to turn out for Auren in this new strange land. Lozier also allowed his different characters to narrate their own stories, which I really liked, it made for different personalities styles coming through to the reader and kept the story fresh. My final thoughts would be that I would highly recommend "The Eternal" to my family and friend, or anybody really who just loves a good "timeless" story. (pun intended) A+ Lozier, keep up the good work!
Time and Space
The story starts somewhat complex and then changes. It is a journey through time and space with many turns and twists which is entertaining. The author has a good style of writing.
This book is fun. A perfect fantasy adventure with the goodies
This book is fun. A perfect fantasy adventure with the goodies, baddies, dimensional beings, twists and turns. I started the book tired, so first I had difficulties with he first chapter, but then it all gets clear, and is wonderfully eventful story. The surroundings aren't very much described, which, I guess, depending on the reader, gives you freedom to create them yourself. It also puts emphasis on the action. Magic, rifts and a bit of romance, I could also imagine this as a film! At some point the plot was a bit too much clarified. I like fantasy and sci-fi because it gives an opportunity to evaluate human beings from an outsider's perspective. Also so in this book, one finds small humanitarian commentaries about our lifestyle, beliefs and limitations. Will read the next one.
An epic masterpiece that catapults the reader through space and time...
An epic masterpiece that catapults the reader through space and time on this memorable journey with Auren, as he takes on Glaxus. His mission is to seek revenge and save the woman he loves, but his story takes many twists and turns where Auren is tested to the limits before he finally meets his fate.
A highly imaginative world, delivered with style.
