From underdog to Green Bay's top QB

Aaron Rodgers has been a quarterback worth watching in his NFL career. There was still a lot I didn't know. "Aaron Rodgers: The Inspirational Story..." showed that he was not a "jock", but an athlete with a passion for sports, a mind that was academically strong, and the motivation and determination to achieve dreams such as playing for top colleges and the NFL. While he did not get his first choice of the San Francisco 49ers, he has made a name for himself through his leadership and team approach with the Green Bay Packers. As one of the most notable quarterbacks of these era, he is an ideal role model. When I share this book with my teenage son, he will know that more as well. This book is full of stats and facts, but definitely interesting!

Not a thick book, but great amount of material for my child who dislikes reading. Kept his interest!

is it legal to publish a wiki?

I can get more from his wiki article, and for free. I imagined reading this in the microsoft Sam voice. Billie, if you can make money, even $2 a pop, off this crap, I should start publishing Wikipedia articles as e-books, too.

Lastly, read like a bad high school essay. If you weren't going to go into any sort of detail, you could have a least been entertaining.

Learn Who the "Real" Aaron Rogers Is

Well written but very short book on the life of Aaron Rogers. Finding out who Aaron Rogers was has really changed my opinion about him. The book has shown me that the press doesn't always portray a player as they really are.

Are you kidding? This is barely a pamphlet. ...

Are you kidding ? This is barely a pamphlet...you are calling this a book ? There are fewer than 20 pages to this and 8 of those pages are blank on one side. Two other pages have two lines on the page. Unbelievable.

This is not a book!!

Shame on me. I normally read reviews and comments. Please know this is a pamphlet. I have never been more disappointed in a purchase in my life.

Perfect read for my 3rd graders biography project!

This was a great book for my 8 year old to read for her biography project. It had a lot of interesting facts that she never knew about Dirk and it was informative about his personal and career lives.

This is a great book. Bill Redban does a remarkable job of enticing us with the unique and interesting story of such a talented athlete. This book is a must read for any basketball fan. You won't be disappointed.

I treat addictive illness for a living. It is an illness with a COMNUNICABLE REMEDY, AND its treatment must be INTENTIONAL.

I lost my brother to suicide after head trauma; the addiction PRECEDED his head trauma. He was a terrific athlete, and I miss him every day.

A must read/listen for every football fan

Living in Oceanside now for 16yrs I never really in the life of JR. This book takes you on a journey of his life. The ups, the downs his family and the community he touched.

Mr. Ortiz finds a fountain or should I say needle of youth and strength. wacking 50 + homer 125 + RBI...40 HR seasons common...NOW into his 40's and still one of the best HR hitters....go figure ?

Yes he was named in a Major league report that he was a steroid user but don't let that ruin a good fictional story.

A LITTLE DATED---BUT---INFORMATIONAL

A nice little, quick read. The bad news, is, any time that you write a book about someone who is still living, it is, most of the time, dated by what that person is doing NOW. That said, being a Red Sox / Big Papi fan, I did manage to garner a couple of things about Ortiz that I hadn't realized. Quick read, fun book.

At first I was not sure, but he does a very good job, in fact he was really good and his various accents were brilliant...

No, not at all as there was so much going on and I had to re-visit several times

Marco is a great character, full of energy (Well he was then) with a great sense of fun and humour as well as his determination which was manic.

Good but missing some things

The book was only 10% about him and basically random other shit, He promised to show why he fell out with Gudjon but i couldnt find it anywhere. Also he kept referring to things like below this and pictures even though it's an audiobook. Alright audiobook, would of been great if I bought the actual book.

Lovely narrator, but a dull hagiography

There are two reasons I did not like this book. First, the author does not appear trustworthy, including rank speculation that there might have been secret communications between the government and the court in a spy case based on nothing more than the judge having imposed a harsh sentence when Hutchinson requested a lenient one. Second, Hutchinson is lauded for his lofty rhetoric, which is extensively quoted. Thankfully, the legal profession has mostly moved past flowery language to focus on the facts, but either that was not the case when Hutchinson was practicing, or the author decided to take the easy way out and quote lengthy arguments rather than explain the strategies and investigations that led to them.

Teeny tiny font.

I'm sure the content is good, but I can't read the font size! The font is horrible. It's such tiny print I tried to read it, and stopped. I'd recommend reprinting in a larger font.

I'm only 38. I read books all of the time as a third grade teacher. I read on my phone, and kindle too. I have never stopped reading a book before because of font size.

Enjoyed this book about Annie Oakley. It is well written an easy read that was hard to put down. I now know a bit more about this little powerhouse! She was definitely more than just a sharp shooter. She hit the target in life where it matters most. A woman of fine character and integrity!

A fine journey into the mind, body & sporting life of possibly the most impressive - and proud - racing cyclist... ever. Splendidly written, this book is a must read/listen for any cycling and sports fan. It offers a deeper than usual insight into winning with panache. Highly recommended.

Well written appreciation of France's greatest male cyclist

Only very slightly marred by the mispronunciation of key names, e.g. Koechli. Fotheringham, who lived and raced in France for 2 years, and has reported on cycling for more than 20, is informed, perceptive & witty.

A good tale told well

An interesting story filling in the many gaps of my knowledge. Just wish there had been a bit more of a wow factor but then Hinault Isn't a wow type of guy.

Not what I wanted

I got this to read a bio of Rita Hayworth. I knew some details about her life because it was well publicized when her career quickly declined after the early 1950s. This was the first biography that I had purchased about her. I was not disappointed in the information but rather the way it was presented. I don't feel that the "editors" of this book have any idea how to write a biography. It was too cut and dry with a good amount of unsubstantiated information. The text reads like a paper from a film student. It was like sitting down to dessert and being served a stale muffin. I plan to avoid their bios on movie stars unless I'm taking a test on cinematography.

This was a ripoff--not a real book,more a pamphlet edited by a hack. I will be more careful of Amazon in the future.

I've been looking for a good book about one of my favorites. I found this one interesting, but wish it had had more personal info. To me it was more factual, but I did enjoy the read.

Too factual. No depth of emotion or quotes from her. Very basic. Fill in the blanks, writer. Thank you much.
