ANGER, TEARS, & HAPPINESS

I enjoyed listening to this story. It gave me all the feels. I wanted to strangle some characters and at the sane time I wanted to hold them and tell them it would be okay. Story was well written & narrator Becca Ballenger did a wonderful job.

Edge of Seat, Cliffhanger...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I hate unknown cliffhangers, so I advise right from the start that this is a complete set. However, it does keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.

This can become a great book series if the author continues. There are a whole group of well-developed characters that become very real to this listener - almost as a group of friends I just met and then getting to know them.

Narration: Dual narration can be tricky, especially with such a wide group of characters. There were times when I wasn't sure who was speaking and it took me a minute to catch up but overall Stephanie Wylse and Chris Chambers did a fantastic job and should continue with the series if Aspen Drake continues to write.

I was fortunate to have been given a copy of this book to listen to in exchange for my opinion and this review.

Finding Hope!

Amy works in a salon in Menlo Park but after 3 years of working there it closes the door leaving her jobless after finding out her boyfriend has been having cybersex with his ex. She's about to hit rock bottom until she gets a job at the hottest salon in town and owned by ex-model Nate Edwards. Amy tries to keep her distance because she feels like he's constantly watching her and she thinks he's watching her work and is afraid of losing her job. Nate thinks Amy's there for other reasons after he learns she's living at a property his parents own and thinks she's up to no good. Will Nate learn The truth? I love the author Aspen Drakes story. This isn't my normal genre but I could relate to Amy. I love how Aspen writes the story from different POV's from multiple characters. I loved the story but dang, I so hate cliffhangers. This is a quick and sexy story that's written extremely well.

Narrator's Stephanie Wyles and Chris Chambers did a great job with their narrating of this story. They made a great team. The story was fun and witty and these narrators brought it all out, making you feel as though you were there in the story.

Gah! A Cliffy!

Narration - Stephanie Wyles and Chris Chambers - They did a really good job of narration. Both have nice voices to listen to and read at a good easy pace.

Gah! This Story! It took all the way til the end for our H&h to finally get together and then it ends on a cliffy! How long for the Season 2 Box set? :)

There are multiple POV's so it doesn't just go back and forth between Amy and Nate. I got confused on one chapter when all the sudden it was (I think) Olivia's POV. So there's more than just the story of Nate and Amy, although, I'm not sure why the other story line is in there.

Great Expansion of the Universe and Fun!

This story expands the New World Series with a Zargonnii. The Unearthly World series is about the Zargonnii characters and C.L Scholey does a fabulous job of describing this new scary as all get out world. She introduces the differences between the females and males along with creating questions why things are the way they are.

Zane is a warrior who has a young child who lost it's pet. His brother Blu bought Bay from a Tonan thinking she was a pet. Due to injuries and unable to speak their language,thus unable to verbalize her intelligence Bay is treated like a pet. Zane's son figures things out and helps her. Eventually everyone finds out and more issues are created.

This science fiction galactic story is fun and entertaining. I really liked both the story and the narrator. The narrator did a very good job with the voices. You could hear the different voices and they were not annoying screechy or make you want to turn off the book.

I definitely liked this story and wish it were longer. I received this book through the romance package and it was worth it . I do however own the actual ebook already so if it was cheaper I would buy it.

Good and Funny Book in Ongoing Series

I love science fiction romance especially those that have humor in them. There are several points of view which adds to the story telling when all of the aliens think Bay is a pet with her own kitty litter and the only one who figures it out is a child. Bay is a refugee from Earth who thought she was escaping the disaster Earth was becoming and ended up in the fire from the frying pan. Captured by one nasty alien, he mistreats her and sells her to the Zargonni to get rid of her. With a damaged throat, she can't talk and let them know she is an intelligent being and they treat her like a pet. And that's just the beginning of the story.

The world building is great. The auditor does a good job. I've listened to this story on more than one occasion. It's a favorite of mine.

Fairytale Sex-laden Historical Romance

This tale about the love triangleof sortsbetween Anne, Sir Guy, and Sir Nele started out okay but quickly became more about sex, either by doing it or talking about it, than anything else. Too much seemed to center on the sex. In some way, it was understandable because it played a role in describing who all 3 of the main characters were. But, as a result, it made all of them appear to be very shallow characters, when there was a hint of greater depth in Anne and Sir Nele which wouldve been great to explore. As a result, all of the spankingjust basic butt whopping with threats of more-and the sex became boring eventually. And I generally love plenty of sex in my stories. Also, Sir Nele was really the only semi-likeable character. I appreciated having a guy that was likeable. In the story, it worked well being juxtaposed against the bad-guy, Sir Guy, since both engaged in the same sexual act, thus being very similar in some ways, including another important way that wont be revealed here.

One negative is that the authors sentence structure was unnecessarily confusing, though her attempt at being historically accurate in speech is appreciated. Im assuming that was the reason for the convoluted and overly-complex way of stating things. But it didnt work for me and was more of a distraction than a benefit. And the narrator did ok, though his deep voice took some getting use to when he performed the female characters.

Still, overall, the story made sense and held together well, though it felt too much like a fairytale for my liking. It wasnt that it was all too easy or that everyone was perfect, except for the villain, of course. It was more the way everyone acted at such extremes, the way everyone was portrayed and how everything focused on extremely limited aspects of all of their lives and the world they lived in. It lacked any degree of complexity. I guess thats encompassed in the significant degree of predictability of the story, which is largely how fairytales are. Sometimes thats what we like about them. And I didnt hate this story. I guess I just wanted more and saw how it couldve been more.

Mature Erotica - Luv, luv

I have a new author to add to my very brief favorite author list. It was quite enjoyable to listen to this book because it focused on 3 middle-age (mid 30s to around age 50) characters (Joe, A.J./Ariel Jane, Brent) with various life experiences, good and bad. They were traveling farm workers; Brent was a boss farm worker. And the story shared the view of all 3. The story is about all 3 of them getting together, of course. So there was plenty of sex and many uses of the word c*nt. So if you have a problem with that, this is so not the book for you. Though this is erotica, I think the explicitness of the sex scenes were somewhere in the mid-range. Ive heard much rawer (if thats a word), much more detailed sex scenes. As such, the author did a good job of providing a story with the sex. Its not a sex-focused or sex-only story. Thats part of what made this a more mature erotica story along with focusing on more mature people & their experiences. Yes, they want to have sex and seek opportunities to do that, but there are more thoughtful reasons for this, which are elucidated. And all of this was told well. Though the story wasnt new, exactly, its telling didnt seem old-hat or repetitive. There was also no inventiveness in the sex, but the journey to their sexual encounters was a different and more thoughtful journey and struggle, to some degree. The sex scenes include m/m and m/m/f. And details were not circumscribed for those who might be uncomfortable with this form of sex and love. I hope that more books by this author will become available on Audible.

The narrator did a good job, though there was little difference in the male voices. Still, it didnt detract from the storytelling at all.

I love how it shows you can come from a bad life and find something so great. When the plane crash happened I was on edge then to find out what came next was so happy!

At first Carissa comes off as a very loose woman wanting nothing but the pleasure she can get from a man through the art of (lets call it) love making. You get one shot and one shot only so do not disappoint the lady. For most of us ladies once twice a week would be enough but for Carissa once to twice a day is never enough. She will go from one man to the next not counting the hours between nor the men she uses to get the pleasure she craves. Then you learn her background and still think this should not have made you the way you are. As you go along through the book you come to understand her more. Even though I dont agree with her in many areas I was able to come to understand her and her ways. It is all about control, being notice and getting attention as so many young teens do today. When I came to understand this I was able to relate to her very well.

Ms. Langola does a wonderful job of narration given a powerful emotional listen giving the whole audio a realistic feel. If I didnt know better I would have thought she really was in the act of making love. Her performance was very emotional at times.

Alasdair sent his mate Gideon to retrieve a journal from his great grandmother Annamarie. Not only does Gideon find the journal but Alasdair and his mate Rhianna; who is half witch, half gargoyle. Gideon takes Rhianna and the journal back to Florida. Read and find out about their journey.

This is the first book of a new series called "Vampire Lords". I am looking forward to more books in this series. Lia Davis also has other great series: Ashwood Falls, Sons of War, Harmony Springs along with other great books.

This is a must read! Great job, Lia.

I loved all of the characters, but I liked Rhianna the best. She is strong, independent and can take care of herself.
