    Publisher's Summary:
The Past - Graduate student Beth Winslow was sure she was ready to navigate the challenges of becoming a surrogate. But when early tests indicate possible abnormalities with the baby, Beth is unprepared for the parents' decision to end the pregnancy - and for the fierce love she feels for this unborn child. Desperate, she flees the city and seeks refuge at Hopen Haus, a home for unwed mothers deep in a Tennessee Mennonite community.
The Present - As head midwife of Hopen Haus, Rhoda Mummau delivers babies with a confident though stoic ease. Except in rare moments, not even those who work alongside her would guess that each newborn cry, each starry-eyed glance from mother to child, nearly renders a fault through Rhoda's heart, reminding her of a past she has carefully concealed.
Past and present collide when a young woman named Amelia arrives in the sweeping countryside bearing secrets of her own. As Amelia's due date draws near, Rhoda must face her regrets and those she left behind in order for the healing power of love and forgiveness to set them all free.

    Very touching story
Jolina Petersheim has written a very involved story that moves backward and forward in time, and is alternately told through the voices of Rhoda, Beth and Amelia. In some books this can be difficult to sort out--but I found that to be no problem here--it was very clear who was speaking and at which time period.
Beth (in 1996) is a graduate student, studying bioethics, who decides for personal reasons to become a surrogate mother for her professor and his wife. Early pregnancy tests suggest that the child she is carrying might have serious abnormalities. Based only on this early possibility the parents ask Beth to terminate the pregnancy as they do not want to take this risk. Beth, however, cannot imagine doing that, and so flees to Hopen Haus, a Mennonite home for unwed mothers.
The remainder of the book concerns the subsequent unfolding of events--both tragic and redeeming (through the past and present points of view). Beth finds great comfort living with the Mennonites, and decides to become one of them--as well as becoming a midwife who now works in Hopen Haus. She changes her name to Rhoda (who tells her story in present day time). Because she has a great secret to hide, this provides a good protection for her. Amelia's arrival begins to focus the story in new directions--as Rhoda and others in the community must face a crisis that will effect many. The story moves faster and faster as the climax approaches, and there are a number of twists that makes it all interesting.
The ending seemed a little too forced, but it basically was a good read (listen). The narration was effective as well. The story had some religious overtones, but that was clear going into the book and worked with the story. I liked it--but think it might appeal to kind of a narrow audience.
    Excellent!
I thoroughly enjoyed listening this book! I listened in just a few days because it was so good.
A beautiful book. I loved it!
This is the first audio book I've listened to about the Mennonite culture or midwifery. Jolina Petersheim wrote a beautiful story about a mother's love. But, with that came wild twists and turns in the book and I found myself actually taking a day off from work so I could finish this book. It is THAT GOOD!
Tavia Gilbert did an outstanding job as the narrator. Her characters were distinct and easy to listen to.

    Publisher's Summary:
The nightmares have returned. Something, or someone, wants to drag Julia Davidson back into a dreadful conflict she assumed was a distant memory. Was this, like before, the echo of another person's dream? Is she responsible to rescue faces she doesn't recognize but can't forget? Do the murky images suggest she has a part to play in whatever ominous events lie ahead?
Things are finally looking up for Matthew Adams. As the top earner at MedCom Associates he has started to crawl out of the financial hole created during his "dark days". And now, out of the blue, a mysterious woman invites him to join a confidential research initiative. She says it will ease the mounting economic crisis. But at what cost to Matthew's fragile sanity, and his tortured soul?
Pastor Alex Ware faces a serious problem. The honeymoon period at Christ Community Church has ended. The finance committee says they can't afford another year of dwindling income and dismal growth. The board wants action, now! Aging parishioners would gladly allocate a portion of their estate to help. But only if Alex stops condemning the transition industry and starts affirming what the Youth Initiative calls "our heroic volunteers".
In Fatherless and Childless, Dr. James Dobson and Kurt Bruner depicted a time in which present-day trends come to sinister fruition. This eagerly awaited conclusion vividly imagines what happens when God's image on Earth is exchanged for the horrors of a Godless world.

    Inspirational a must listen!
This book is the thrilling conclusion of Fatherless Childless and Godless. This series looks at a scary possibility of our future. This series will make you laugh, cry, cringe, and look at our own beliefs on the value of human life!
    Excellent Story
Seeing how it was written prior to the 2016 elections, I can't help but think that there needs to be another layer of conflict added to a rewrite, namely, the obvious public vitriol that we are now seeing.
    Wish there were more
Wow!!! What an amazing end to a great series. Such powerful concepts! Hoping for more!

Tension mounts as Ms Newport keeps each new episode adding additional suspense and drama
Even though this is my second time reading this series, I still find myself being drawn into the lives and the mysteries of each character. Sometimes I find myself feeling like I actually am friends with some of these intriguing characters.
    good story
I enjoyed Hidden Falls. Would have enjoyed more detail - it seems to have ended abruptly, but I'd recommend it. It's easy reading, however, I will never engage in another serial reading way too frustrating waiting for each installment.

The whole series has been great but I wish it had been written in one book instead of a series. A bit costly overall.
    I love this book

    Hidden Falls - YEAH
The series Hidden Falls is full of mystery, charm, and drama. The characters are believable and interesting. It will be a bitter/sweet moment when the last book of the series is published. I can't wait to see if I'm correct about what happened to Quinn.

    Hidden Falls - the series
I started this series when the first book was offered either free or .99. It was great and started me on the entire series. It wasn't clear, at least to me, that I would be buying section by section until the book finished. I kept going because I did love the characters and was definitely intrigued by the story and what was going on. It was worth the many purchases and the ending was a surprise and pretty believable. I would recommend the book. Especially since it is completed and you won't have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the next section to go on sale.
hidden Falls just keeps on giving
I am reading the complete Hidden Falls series for the second time. I find each episode more and more intriguing. Olivia Newport is my new favorite author. Her books take me back in time to a period of my life when I thought Danielle Steel was my favorite author. Now I look forward to anything Olivia Newport writes. She adds such a great variety of characters.

In all of this, as mayor, business owner, and daughter of Emma, Sylvia has never felt so inadequate, so empty of answers...so lost without Quinn. Shes never liked Jack Parker much, but maybe he can use his connections to find Quinn. What could it hurt?
Laurens past resurges to haunt her. Nicole suffers a setback that might force her off the hunt for Quinn. Ethans future is on the line. And Liams suspicions about the missing money are full of disturbing possibilities.

    Beginning, Middle, End = Story
Not sure what Quandry is. But this is a Quandary for sure. This is not a book or a short story. It needs to be labeled "Soap Opera Quandary." The writing is good and the narration is well done. This might be a chapter. At this rate the book would cost $30 plus to hear the story. However it may be ongoing, like a soap opera. No middle, no end...for me no sale.

    Publisher's Summary:
Pastor Paul is a young seminary graduate called as interim pastor to a small rural church. He is full of zeal, but mostly for self-promotion. He sincerely loves the Lord but his past emotional wounds leave him vulnerable and in need of attention and affirmation. He constantly frustrates his angel, Saldu, who tries to steer him toward a more humble attitude.
Sarah Edwards is a new church member, a recent widow who gets saved at age 71. Unknown to her, Sarah has two angels to help disciple her and she is maturing rapidly in the faith. She is confused by her prophetic gifting, which leads her to offend some church members. She also prayer walks in front of Pastor Paul's house. When his wife sees her pacing back and forth "talking to no one," Paul quickly writes her off as a "wacko."
Through the lives of Paul and Sarah you will see that the really wonderful news is that living a life pleasing to God has nothing to do with gritting your teeth and trying harder (again and again and again). God rewards you for simple, loving, serving actions throughout your days, stepping outside your own concerns to truly see others in His name.
    Members Reviews:
    Boring poorly written
I hate to give a bad review. I am pretty easy to please when it comes to a novel, but the storyline in this was horrible. I felt throughout the whole book like I was in Sunday school and not all of the teaching was correct.
The story has many amateur readers and the demon voices were at times too difficult to even comprehend.
The book was highly predictable except for Paul, and that was about it. The whole book revolves around praying and how prayer effects those around us as well as how our actions or sin effects those around us. But the entire story felt like a sermon and I could go to Mass for that. This wasnt entertaining in my opinion.
I apologize to the author for the poor review but this was just not a good book.
This book has changed my life.
The Lord is using this book to change my life. Thank you, Jackie. Your obedience is changing lives.

I continue to be astonished by Somers's writing talent. He is able to keep my undivided attention with each page, and that is very hard to accomplish since I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). But he has not disappointed me yet with the books in this series!! The constant battle between good and evil is so intense. I love these books so stinkin much! Keep it up, James :)
