    In my opinion
Would you try another book from S. A. Archer and S. Ravynheart and/or S.A. Archer and S. Ravynheart ?
I will not buy another book in this series.
Has Cursed turned you off from other books in this genre?
This is a Genre that I enjoy reading I will continue to explore new authors.
How could the performance have been better?
This story needed professional story tellers, the authors inexperience showed. The male author sound a bit tinny but that may not have been his fault, I don't know the particulars of producing an audio book.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was disappointed in this story. The over all concept was fine but the story was too short to really allow you to get to know the characters, and while the story told the basic history the relationship of the different factions they didn't really take the story anywhere and the set up for future stories fell short. I'm curious to what happend to Ricco and the other fey with him but not enough to buy the next story to find out. Also, this story begins as though they will have a strong female lead but she doesn't show enough experience in her field and is quickly enslaved which isn't interesting in and of itself.
    Any additional comments?
The authors seem to be inexperienced writers and would benefit from a (possibly new?) editor/representative.
    disapointed
    What disappointed you about Cursed?
to short, just stopped. the authors knew the story but I think if they had an actor read/act, I could have gotten into the store more
What didnt you like about S.A. Archer and S. Ravynheart s performance?
to flat didn't sound like they were the people, or different people

This audiobook compiles: The Church of Infinity and Infinity Rising. A demon hunter becomes the hunted when an unstoppable assassin from Hell comes to Earth on a mission to kill...
Earth is heaven for demons... According to the prophet Ranajee, demons live among us in human form. They exploit man's vulnerability to place everyday people in a condition of suffering that exists right here on Earth. As more demons enter our world, this condition will never end until all of humankind is enslaved. Ranajee, however, is the pen name of a mysterious and seemingly ageless leader of a cult of demon hunters known as the Church of Infinity. It is their chosen task to eradicate, with extreme prejudice, those who endeavor each day to hasten the end of mankind.
And when Ranajee gets his hands on a powerful artifact that could allow him to breach the borders of Hell, an unstoppable demon assassin is sent to wipe out all the members of the Church of Infinity once and for all. Now one last surviving demon hunter must escape from prison and go on the run. With the help of a conspiracy-theorist punker named Rachel, he goes on a search to track down this artifact in order to trade it for his life and save the human world from certain doom.

    Another Grand Slam by MYN
Infinity is another fabulous read by author Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff. Not only has he crafted a mind-enthralling, hell ride of a thriller with this story but there are layers in this book that give it depth many thrillers do not have. This work also pulls elements of his other great works together that reside in the Angel of Death or Shadow Falls series. Giving definition and scope to the world he has masterfully created. I highly recommend this read. Nor does one have to read the other works for this to be enjoyable or make sense. The content is there for those that have but this is a tremendous stand alone work as well. Once you take the ride you will get back in line for another again. And again. Welcome to Hell on Earth. Or should I say Heaven?
Can't wait for the next installment
I really enjoy MYN's work. Both his fiction and his motivational books (Check out "Go Forth and Kick Some Ass"). This one reminded me of "Number One With A Bullet" with touches of "Badlands." Very fast-paced, totally engrossing story and characters. Not for the faint at heart - but it is about demon-hunters, so you have been warned.
    Awesome, as always
Do not buy this book! Unless you have some time blocked off for reading. I could not put this down. Nemcoff has yet another page turner in his collection. This is another novel that grips you from the opening page until the finish. I thought Shadow Falls was great, and then this came along. Wonderful from beginning to end.
    Roller coaster of awesome
This is a fast-paced story which still takes the time to develop the world and characters. Its a page turner and feels like a big budget action movie. Mark draws you in and holds you in place with a fantastic world that still feels real. Don't blink... no character is safe in the telling of this amazing story.
    Mark does it again!
Infinity is another great book by Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff.

    Brilliant.
If it wasn't for the emotional scenes towards the ends in Cap's chapter Vines then this would probably be a four star book for me. The goose bumps I got from that were 5 star worthy.
    A good second book
I really enjoyed this book, I found the first a little off in places but this one flowed a lot better, there were a couple of things which I thought were odd but overall this read really well. It was fantastic seeing the relationships blossoming and there were some references back to the old times which kept it realistic. I do feel that there was occasionally too much time focused on inner thoughts and feelings but then events and other characters were rushed to fit in and that was a shame, but that said I could not put this down and was desperate to find out what was going to happen next, am looking forward to the final book.

    Mixed Feelings: Great Story but...
After falling in love with the SyFy show I had to get this book which I thought would be a continuation of the series. However, I was in for a few surprises. Here is my take:
    1. This book is a two layer alternating prequel to the SyFy series. The first story, told in the even numbered chapters, occurs in the past when Riese is 16 years old. The second story, told in some of the odd numbered chapters, takes place in the present time, 10 years later, leading up to where the SyFy series start when we meet Riese on the run. This works well in giving us a broad view of the back stories involved in the development of the characters. Riese at 16 years old living in the Palace is a totally different Riese than the 26 year old we meet during the SyFy show running thru the woods. Those buying this book for a continuation to the SyFy series will not get that here. However, as a prequel, the story is still really good and pulls us deeper into the world of Riese. If you like the SyFy series then you will enjoy the story in this book.
    2. This book is written for Young Adults (12 years+). I was not expecting this. As a result the writing style and dialogue bits are tremendously simplified to cater to preteens. I'm upset that they decided to do this since the subject matters of genocide, war, famine, racism, religious extremists, beheading of children, torture, etc... are a big part of the story. The simplified preteen writing style does not match at all and, by keeping the storytelling simple, many character developments are not properly conveyed in the writing. Antagonists, much like on the SyFy show, remain one dimensional as a result. I especially wanted more development of the Herrick and Amara characters since their back stories and motivation are the driving force in the SyFy series.
    3. Dreadful dialogue! This follows from the writer dumbing it down. I am not sure who he had in mind for his audience but most 12 year old kids in today's world of iPhones and school shootings can comprehend adult situations without the need to over simplify every verse to them. The dialogue, or rather the scenes with extensive and expository dialogue, are generic and cardboard-ish. In one scene Riese is talking to her mother and Amara and it literally reads like 3 of the same personalities. There is no dialogue distinction between the 16 year old Riese, her 25 year old cousin and her 40 year old Mom. They all sound like bickering teenagers.

Mr Mclaren takes us on a wild and hilarious ride.
Would you consider the audio edition of Buck Johnson: Dragon Wrangler to be better than the print version?
I am on the go and loved this audio book. I have not read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
Wyatt Mclaren takes us on a wild and hilarious ride with characters who feel like people from the old west. I smiled through the whole thing and laughed a few times as well! this book left me feeling like I had just spent time with some old cowboys on a ranch out west. I can only hope the next installment is as good.
Which character as performed by Joe Roark was your favorite?
I loved the Buck Johnson character. He sort of reminds me of Tommy Lee Jones character in the Good Ol Boys.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A short story long on laughs.
    Any additional comments?
If you love westerns of any kind and are also a fan of star trek, firefly or star wars this will be an enjoyable listen.
Entertaining Western with some funny characters!
Would you listen to Buck Johnson: Dragon Wrangler again? Why?
I was a little hesitant at first to buy this as I could not quite grasp a western that featured cowboys riding dragons. After listening though it really was quite entertaining and well written. The author has a good grasp of the life of a cowboy and how things work "out west"even if out west is way out west!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I have to say it was a toss up between the main character "Buck Johnson" and the terulian lizard guy carposh.
Which character as performed by Joe Roark was your favorite?
I thought the carposh lizard character was quite entertaining. Since this is a series i would like to see how this plays out in the next story.
    Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Buck Johnson is my new hero on the planet Terul!
Space Westerns have been a favorite of mine for a long long time. Search google and there are not many results. I loved the show Firefly which only ran one season because again why the fans of this genre are dedicated, there just are not a lot of us.
McLaren does a superb job of taking the rodeo/ranch hand cowboy and placing him in a setting identical to so many ranches. The "ranch" just happens to be the planet Terul. Terul has 2 suns and a native class of people that are reptilian and speak with lots of sss at the end of their words.

    Publisher's Summary:
Professor Piers Knight is the Brooklyn Museums very own Indiana Jones.
His specialties include lost civilizations, arcane cultures, and more than a little bit of the history of magic and mysticism. What his contemporaries don't know is that in addition to being a scholar of all these topics, he is also proficient in the uses of magical artifacts.
Knight receives a chilling message from Tian Lu, a former lover and an agent for the Chinese government. Years ago, they made a frightening discovery at an archeological dig when out of the depths rose a living, fire-breathing dragon. Now, the dragons are waking from their slumber before their scheduled time. And one particularly diabolical dragon is set on eliminating the others and taking over the world.
As civilization plunges into panic, Knight, Lu, Knights 17-year-old techie intern George Rainert, and an untrustworthy dragon ally must use all their resources - magical and otherwise - to stop the destruction before its too late.

    Worth Reading At Least Once
It's a great book. Certainly entertaining. It definitely made me feel a whirlwind of emotions for the protagonist.
    fast shipping

    fun pulp fiction
After he saved the world twice, the Men in Black abduct Brooklyn Museum curator Piers Knight, his former girlfriend Tian Lu, and museum intern George Rainert. They are taken to Washington DC where agents are putting together a defense plan against an expected dragon invasion.
They already have an assortment of weapons, mundane and magical to throw at the ancient menace. However, whether they use magic powders or missiles, the enemy is extremely powerful soaring through the skies while tossing fire at targets. Thus the Feds added Brooklyn Knight to the team as he has a proven success rate against impossible odds vs. invincible adversaries.
This is an over the top of the Coney Island Cyclone and the Brooklyn Bridge pulp fiction in which readers, who ignore plausibility, will be caught up in the frantic pace to save the world several times in one thriller. In fact boomer fans will sing the theme song to Mighty Mouse as Knight "comes to save the day". Faster than a subatomic particle in a super collider, readers will enjoy Central Park Knight as the hero and his two cohorts struggle to prevent global extinction.
    Harriet Klausner
Professor Piers Knight, a dowdy and somewhat eccentric scholar
The cover and back copy of C.J. Henderson's Central Park Knight can be boiled down to a simple equation of awesomeness: Indiana Jones + Dragons = YAY! Needless to say, I go fairly excited. Unfortunately, the story did not manage to reach my hopes.
You've got Professor Piers Knight, a dowdy and somewhat eccentric scholar who works at the Brooklyn Museum and, in addition to having nearly limitless access to arcane artifacts from past cultures and untold knowledge of their every facet is also quite proficient at the use of these sometimes magical artifacts. After saving the world twice in not quite so many months, the good professor finds himself faced with the reemergence of Dragonkind in the world.

    Publisher's Summary:
Strange things have always happened in Seavy County, the most rugged stretch of Oregon's coastline. Violent storms spring up like magic, even when the rest of the state enjoys sunshine; unearthly beings are sometimes glimpsed in the twilight; and those who live there understand that a rare enchantment still lives in the world, although they seldom speak of it.
For Seavy County is home to not just animal life, but to fantasy life as well: mythical creatures long vanished from the rest of the planet. The last survivors of a bygone age, they lead a precarious existence, skirting the fringes of modern civilization.
The Buckingham family has protected the hidden wonders of Seavy County for generations. Forty years ago, Lyssa Buckingham's father lost his life doing just that. Lyssa fled from Seavy County, searching for a more normal life, but found tragedy and heartbreak instead. With her 10-year-old daughter, Emily, in tow, she has come home at last, just as the malignant forces that killed her father are gathering strength once more.
Now Lyssa must make some hard choices. About the county, about Emily - and about the fragile fantasy life that surrounds them all.

A somewhat SF twist on an alternate, magical universe
I think Kristine Kathryn Rusch is one of the more interesting authors to snag my attention so far this new millennium. Her earlier Sci Fi works have some original concepts and good pacing. This is her first foray into the Fantasy realm that I'm aware of, and it's a worthy addition to her bibliography.
The coast of Seavy County, Oregon, is a reservation of sorts for all of the world's remaining magical water creatures - the "mythical" mermaids, sylkies, water sprites, etc. of legend. For over one hundred years the Buckinghams, a resident family of Anchor Bay, have been stewards and sworn protectors of these various beings. Now mysterious deaths are threatening this special coexistence, and four generations of Buckingham women must forget their internal feuds and pull together, using their psychic powers to discover the source of the threat.
I love Rusch's take on the disappearance of magic from our planet, her explanation for the steadily declining lack of sightings that goes hand in hand with our steadily eroding environment. I can also see a distinctly SF bias in her characters' reactions to the supernatural events surrounding them; they almost seem detached and unsurprised at the paranormal, as if astronauts expecting to discover and explore strange new worlds and all the attendant alien species therein. This is something I have noticed in the writings of other crossover novelists, and I can't decide if this rationalistic flavor is a refreshing twist on the Fantasy genre or a detraction from it. Perhaps because Anchor Bay's residents are so pragmatic about the otherworldly beings that they coexist with, the author never gets around to delving into the fascinating creatures, their relationships, their cultures, their intimate interactions with humans. Where then is the wonder and awe that so poetically defines Fantasy?
As a novelist, Rusch did live up to her own standards. The plot was a very good blend of action, character development and steadily unfolding mystery. Rusch does seem to have a good handle on human psychology and she uses it effectively.

    My favorite fairy tale
I dearly love this book. It's the punch line to the joke that starts" I caught a talking frog". It has some wonderful things to say about middle age and about self help.
The performance does some very odd things with volume that I really found distracting. Once I got used to that, it was still the book I loved.
    Well written and sassy
Would you consider the audio edition of Fair Peril to be better than the print version?
For a mostly lighthearted fairy story this is well written, funny, and relatable.
