    Publisher's Summary:
The hilarious ravings of Taniya Sexton, god of planet fruitcake and undercover intergalactic superagent.
Taniya Sexton is an ordinary downtrodden girl with authority issues. Having the working day from hades, she is sucked from our reality and into the fifth dimension when summoned to wage a war. Instantly she's elevated to god status and is worshipped as the almighty god Amrak.
Playing god by ear is challenging enough, but without warning she's dumped into the region of her nemesis, the god Adnachiel. Faced with drooling foamers and alien creatures, scrambling to distill hostility, she falls chin first for the gorgeous man, seduces and overthrows her enemy, and, on returning home when her mission is over, finds herself suddenly in the employ of the Bureau of Her Majesty the Queen, as a secret universal spy.
Hold on to your sides, as this is hilariously sidesplitting.

    Great fun for twenty-something Brits
Funny to hilarious mind ramblings of a London shopgirl with a mind of her own and a solid opinion of herself as she is abducted and hailed as a god by the people of this fifth dimension planer. The publisher's summary will give you some clues without spoilers. Enjoy this gigglefest!
Elan gives a fantastic performance that no book could match.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
    FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!! TOODLE PIP! LOL
Would you listen to Soul Cypher again? Why?
Absolutely!!!! It was great!! I laughed and Laughed...Taniya is hilarious!!!!!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Soul Cypher?
When Taniya realizes she can just think things into existence...and the first time she asked for a bathroom on Planet Fruitcake..I laughed my butt off!!!
What does Elan O'Connor bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
SHE ROCKED IT!! I would totally listen to her again!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes it was...and I would have if I didnt have to carry on with normal everyday life, like work and sleep!!! lol
    Any additional comments?
**I was given a free copy of this book via audiobookblast in exchange for an honest review**
This was such a funny book...its like one big hilarious rant!!! Taniya is just living her life, boring job, rude boss...retail-hell...she has had this odd triangular mark on her thigh for quite sometime, and it is rumored to be an alien mark...then one day she slips on some old lady wee...and poof she is in another dimension! She is considered a God...lol Well she meets Ned...who is supposed to be her nemesis...they end up joining forces to take down the opposition...SUPER DUPER HILARIOUS ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!!!!
    I WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!!!
    Embraces modern British-isms.
I've never read anything from Poppet before, but from what I've heard this is not her usual genre. Still, I enjoyed the story and the characters. I was a bit shocked by how youthfully British the whole story felt, but it really works in the first person perspective of Taniya. While I didn't laugh-out-loud, I did smile at a few scenes and sentences. I just want to point out that this is not the same type of humour that you might find in a Pratchett or Adams book. It is a much more modern type of fast speaking, slang-slinging humour.
Elan O'Connor did an excellent job capturing the essence of Taniya.

Once trained as a LEO (law enforcement officer), Rachel quickly realizes things aren't what they seem while being trained at an accelerated rate with the new and curious technology of the A.R.E.S. Things take a turn for the unexpected when an all-too-mysterious and charming gentleman, David, appears in her life--a man who hides his identity of being a congressman-to-be from her.
But that is only one side of his heavy secret. As trouble catches up, Rachel discovers him to be an Unrestricted--people who she was trained to hate and kill with extreme prejudice.
As they flee to the restricted area for safety, she encounters the choice of joining their cause or dying loyal to her corrupt nation. In an epic journey filled to the brim with suspense, action, and stop-your-heart romance, she encounters two choices: to remain loyal to her nation and live happily ever after, blind to all the injustices and corruption around her, and lose her chance at love, or become an Unrestricted, opening her heart to David and fighting for what she truly believes is right.
Once decided, there is no going back.

    Fantastic book!
First it should be noted that I'm not very good at reviews but I intend on doing my best.
I am not into dystantopia but I decided to give this book and try and let me just tell you that I was very surprised. There's just so much more to this book. The story that unfolds between Rachel and David had my romance interest peaked. (Which is huge for me)
And one of my concerns going into this is that I wouldn't be able to truly grasp the world created by the author but that wasn't an issue at all. The picture painted by Torres has me feeling as if I was right there the entire time.
So in short, I HIGHLY recommend this novel to EVERYONE. It is an awesome read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Seriously guys, five freakin' stars!
    A very good book.
This book was good. Iâll be honest it took me a bit to get use to it being told in first person (Rachel and Davidâs). At times in the beginning I wanted to throttle Rachel but sheâs 16 and being wishy-washy and indecisive is excepted. With that aside I really did enjoy this book once I got into it. I was intrigued to find out more about the futuristic world fully controlled by the government and its technology (Iris). In Restricted Renegade kids are introduced to Iris around the age of 10 and are basically totally reliant on Iris. Its crazy scary how much that mirrors our current reliance on technology and itâs equally scary to think how easily the government can take control over a country and make its own mandates like in this book. Thank god for the Restricted Renegades. I enjoyed watching David and Rachel fall in love throughout the book and I rooted for the RRâs as they fought against the RCC to regain their country. I can't wait for the second book.
    Really enjoyed it!
I usually don't ready many science fiction novels, but I was compelled to try this one out based on the description.
Admittedly, it was a long read, but a pleasant one.

Norse Gods, Nazis, and the Great Old Ones. What more could you want from an adventure story?
Scottish soldier, Ian MacAndrew's mission to kill the Butcher of Prague in the heart of Nazi-ruled Prague teams him up with a pale-skinned titan, Donner Grimm, against the legendary forces seeking to unleash Ragnarok and the end of the world.
Synopsis: Dropped into the heart of Nazi-occupied Prague on a mission to kill its leader, Ian MacAndrew finds himself thrust into a battle of myth and legend itself. With the marble-skinned warrior Donner Grimm at his side, MacAndrew must face off against necromancers, Nazi berserkers, and the power of the demons known as the Jotnar, all vying to bring about Ragnarok and the end of humanity.

Son of Odin Fighting Lovecraftian Nazis...I'm in!
This was a great "read" from start to finish!
Took a little getting used to the Scottish narrator but this is a fun exciting mashup of Lovecraft, Pulp, Hellboy, and Norse Mythology (some of my favorite things). Can't recommend it enough for anyone who enjoys listening to a good fast
    story.
Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.
    Another win for Nastos!
I've become a big fan of the non-stop action and modern fantasy written by Mat Nastos. Man with the Iron Heart is a great 'what-if' story that explores the obsession the Nazis had with the occult. They are battled by Scottish soldier McAndrew, who is thrown into a situation far, far out of his depth along with the mysterious Donner Grimm, a giant of a man imbued with the power of Thor and armed with an ancient blade of power in service to the All-Father.
Vikings and Celts Vs. Nazi necromancers and their unworldly, unholy creations... What's not to love?

Fun, original story and great narration!
This is a fun story with great characters and an original idea and story. It is engaging and will make you think a little bit about how stable our lives and society are, and it is a fun story to read with the family.
The narration by Brandon Wainwright was clear, easy to understand and very fun to listen to. The characters were amazing. Very fun, unique, and consistent. The narration made it easy to get into the story. One of my favorite readers is Jim Dale, who did an amazing job with great character voices for the Harry Potter books, and I would say Brandon did every bit as good of a job with his voices and narrations. Great job to Brandon and Scott.
I'll be listening to this again!
Touching, fun story. Good voice acting
It was fun and imaginative. I enjoyed it. The ending felt a little rushed, and maybe too easy or flowery, but it gave you a good feeling and left you in a good mood.
The voice acting made the story really pop and come alive. It gave the characters more depth and liveliness

    Publisher's Summary:
There is a curse on Point Vestal. Time moves differently in this sleepy Northwestern coastal town, where the ghosts of the past roam the streets as readily as the living inhabitants. It's still the late 19th century, and underneath the quaint touristy allure of the commingling of the past and present is a lurking darkness.
August Starling, a decadent (and dead) crime baron, has a plan for Point Vestal because the magical nature of the town is a haven for sinners fleeing judgment for their crimes. And the only residents who can stop him are newcomers to town: a defrocked Episcopalian priest and a talking cat, who is fluent in seven languages.
The Off Season is an effusive meditation on the nature of the fantastic, by a writer the Atlanta Constitution calls "a lasting voice in modern American literature." Cady, winner of both the Nebula and the World Fantasy Award, has given us "a consummate yarn, told with many digressions and anecdotes that combine with folksy humor to create a tall tale suffused with pathos and melancholy." (The Seattle Times)

    Very Violent - Very Suspenseful
Open Season is very suspenseful and well written. The book is incredibly violent. I had read warnings before reading it about the violence, but the warnings (at least in my mind) seemed underrated from what I had read. SO be warned... it is very very violent. The violence is understood based on the nature of some of the characters. The author is pointing out the true nature of man and what man can do to another human being, Overall, I could see Open Season as a horror movie, but I'll need a few months to let the images in my mind disappear. The last half of the book- I could not put it down!
incredible horror fiction at it's best
Jack Ketcum delivers a home run. i was glad to have picked -up th euncut authors edition. if you have only read the previous (negotiated ending ) edition. do yourself a favor and pick this up. on the strentgh of this book, i 've devloped
a big jones for anytihng Jack Ketchum. including Offspring,Red, Lost, The Woman, and all of his hardbacks and collaberations i 've been able to locate.
I am not Sam also is a tremdoouly disturbig read form the master of horror.
i cannot understand why Showtime when they aired their 2 year series Master of Horrors series, did not include Jack Ketchum to make an episode on one of his short stories.(they'rwe damn good stuff)
Evil Jester comics just released their premiere issue .it includes an illustrated version of'The Box.(my favorite Jack Ketchum short story) that would have made an incredible episode for Masters of Horror)
any new horror antholgy released on cable (FXX,Cinemax, FX, Showtime, etc.) should include Jack Ketchum stories
    they will not be sorry.
Dallas ,i really like the interviews the Lee, and youself did on the special effects on the Header dvd. great stuff.
i can never watch that film too many times at least twice a month.
    Fast-paced Thriller
I'm sorry to say that I only recently discovered Jack Ketchum, who obviously has been around for awhile. He's a masterful writer with a great style. I'm not a fan of over-written books with redundant padding, and Ketchum's prose is beautifully lean yet detailed. Packed with action and suspense and cleanly structured, it's no surprise that several of his books have been turned into films, although most of them are extremely hard-edged and psychologically disturbing.

    Members Reviews:
    So, that happened... I think.
Im not sure what just friggin happened. I mean, I kinda know. There are these characters, and a weird house, and time travel, and god like people, and amnesia, and a cool game of Snakes and Ladders, and I think that one guy is also that other guy or maybe I am thinking about someone else. Oh, and that girl is like maybe autistic, which of course means she has some special ability or perception that will help save the world, or destroy it, or maybe stop the bad guy who I am not sure is really bad because thats thats what mentally challenged people do in fantasies and, well, maybe Im just an idiot who cant follow the authors disjointed train of thought. I mean, I get this way with high brow stuff where I think I am supposed to get it. Like Birdman, which I guess had moments, but still, I didnt get it. Like art or jazz or that weird class of philosophy I took
    But
So really, maybe Guy Adams is a genius who created this beautiful mosaic of a novel, full of complexities and layers upon layers, creating a mesmerizing tale that blends generations and genres and I am just too dumb to figure it all out. I know I feel like this when I attempt to read China Mellville and Paolo Bacigalupi, which people I respect tell me is brilliant, but turns my brains to mash, and, well, kinda bores me at the same time making me want to pull out something with explody monsters hunters or time traveling Nazis.
Or maybe Guy Adams just wrote a book that had some brilliant moments, was fun at brief intervals but was mostly a mess that barely held my interest and often left me confused about exactly what the hell just happened.
    But maybe not
    Im confused.
One thing I like about Paul Boehmer is that he has a unique narrative voice. His voice has a tone that reflects an international feel yet isnt specific to any particular nationality. It reminds me of the subtle accents that many 1800 era American period pieces use, not really modern American or Modern British but somewhere in between. This is why I think Boehmer is excellent in historical fiction and has been underused in the fantasy genre where straight British accents seem to be the preference of audio producers. This is why I thought he was perfectly suited for a book like The World House. But, now I am not so sure he was, mostly because I really didnt care about the book enough to figure it out. His characters were fine. I often found the perspective shifts were not distinct enough, but this may just have been because I wasnt invested enough in the characters to realize that they had shifted.
    Oh well.
Basically, The World House was a book that constantly had me on the edge of thinking,Lets end this and move on to something else but that little part of me said that eventually there would be this sort of AHA! Moment that pulled it all together and made it worth it.

    Nice Surprise
This book turned out to be a lot better, and funnier, than I expected. A giant telepathic alien cabbage worm (not sure what the artist who did the cover with the earthworm on it was thinking) crashes to Earth. It just so happens that it is the future and humans have become comically conservative to the extreme. After a little alien preaching/influence the main chars end up in outer space aboard a cargo/cruise ship and in the clutches of space pirates. Its a brisk fast-paced amusing read and its length of 191 pages suits it perfectly.

When Tristan meets Zoe he finds the girl of his dreams. The only problem? She's a princess and he's impersonating a prince - a crime punishable by imprisonment and floggings.
Unable to tell Zoe his real name, he gives her a special navigation device. One that leads to the owner's true love. Will this magic device lead Zoe to Tristan, or will her true love forever remain a mystery prince?

Mary Waibel is a master of spinning fairy tales
In this reverse Cinderella tale, a ball is held in order for Princess Zoe to find a prince to marry. With all the princes of the nine kingdoms to choose from, she finds herself most interested in Tristan, who unbeknownst to her is a mere bodyguard standing in for Prince Rand. Unable to give Zoe his real name, Tristan must settle for giving her a magical device that will lead her to her true love. Will it take her to Tristan and what will the consequences be if it does?
Mary Waibel is a master of spinning fairy tales, and THE MYSTERY PRINCE is no exception. I love how the gender roles are reversed in this twist on the Cinderella story. I'm not always a fan of when characters fall in love at first site, but there is such a sweet scene between Zoe and Tristan when they first meet that they had me buying into their instant attraction. As the stakes rose, I was rooting for these two to find a way to truly be in love and to find a way to make it work. Another winner from Mary Waibel!
    Like I said
I was so full of hope when I picked up this novella. The gender-flip promised to be an interesting spin on an old tale. I wish it lived up to my expectations.
My issues with this novella stem in part from the writing and in part from the plot itself. The writing holds nothing new or interesting. Word choices are cliche and the language used doesn't set the tone for a fairytale. In terms of plot, there are a few interesting pieces here and there, but those are rare gems.
Like I said, I truly wish I could say I enjoyed this piece. It just didn't click for me.
but it was really predictable and boring. Extremely simple plot
I was excited for this book, but it was really predictable and boring. Extremely simple plot. I was disappointed.
A Light Read for a Good Sigh
This novella grabbed me with the concept. It's a sweet romance with a fairy tale feel and a couple great characters. I was reminded of Ever After's Leonardo da Vinci by Nor, and loved Princess Zoe's tenacity. Clean, sweet, and short.
A short and sweet twist to the Cinderella tale
Tristan is uneasy about impersonating Prince Rand during a masquerade, but since the prince is ill, the king commands him to do so in order to win the hand of a princess. As a bodyguard, Tristan does not think he'll make a good impression, but Princess Zoe falls for him as fast as he falls for her. Though he cannot give her his name, he gives her a device that will allow her to find her true love.

Annoying Pauses when the Narrator changes- not the Performer's fault. John's sister interjects with her point of view, but the pause before her voice is cut in kills the effect.
