Entertaining and Fun

Would you listen to The Cycle of Arawn again? Why?

I might go back and listen to the first book again, this trilogy is so long I've forgotten some of the first book already!

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that it never dragged over 65 hours!

Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynoldss other performances before? How does this one compare?

Reynolds may have even improved since he narrated the Riyria Chronicles!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Ha ha. 65 hours is too long for any one sitting!

Any additional comments?

I don't agree with people complaining about so many of the characters being smart-alecks. I enjoyed every bit of the wise-cracking repartee and just accepted it as a cultural thing common to this fantasy world. This "Cycle" reminded me a lot of the Riyria Chronicles.

Great story that keeps your attention

What did you like best about this story?

Compared to many audio books which are just narrated, this one has an entire cast of voice actors, sound effects, and moving music. I really enjoyed it.

Any additional comments?

I only downloaded this audio book to brush up on my German while driving before moving to Austria, I was pleasantly surprised and now want to listen to the next one, but I don't see it on Audible.

There are some people who hate everything and feel the need to share their hatred. Then there are human beings.

"Kindle Customer", you must be joking, right? Have you the attention span of a brain damaged gnat? Looking at your past reviews, you pretty much hate everything you've ever read. How sad. Oh, and by the way, you should learn the difference between "to" and "too".

Sojourner is a solid book and a great follow up to Mayhawk Rising. So far, I have loved every book by N.K. Schlaudecker and look forward to the next. I also LOVE the audio book narration. Wonderful job. If you like stories based on the King Arthur story, you will love this book as well as Mayhawk Rising!

Gauntlet of hardships and triumps

After reading Mayhawk: Rising I had to follow it up with Mayhawk: Sojourner. Was so glad I did. N.K. Schlaudecker writes so smoothly through the era of King Arthur. This book has characters that you will hate, despise and fall in love with. I laughed, I cried and I was in awe at the pace of the action. Definitely looking forward to more of this author's writing. A must read, BOTH of the Mayhawk books!

Thrilling read!

Sojourner is an amazing second installment to the Mayhawk story. The raw beauty of each scene is captured with such depth and clarity that it's impossible to put this book down. The characters inspire both love and hate, and the plot is riveting and fast paced. It tugs at the heart strings. I both laughed and cried while reading it. This series has quickly become one of my all time favorites. Definitely give it a read.

This is a wonderful followup to the first book, with the same attention to characterization and well paced plot.

Plot?

This book as the first is really without plot just a continuous progression. It has a title implying it is about Arthur, it is not nor even is it a complete tale.

The first book was way to short and together truly make one book if even then there is no real closure. Could have been so much more. Thus I gave it a two because she did not complete the book nor hold true to her own title.

Hard to understand

I listened to 5 chapters and have no idea what I heard or what the story was about. I could not understand 90% of what the narrator was saying it was almost like I was listening to a foreign language. I honestly wish I could have given a better review but I can't give a good review on something I don't understand.

Books 1 and 2 in this series by this author were wonderful, well written and fun to read. I enjoyed listening to both of them.
