    SImply Awful!
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
    No one.
If youve listened to books by Fred Anderson before, how does this one compare?
    n/a
How could the performance have been better?
Different performer. This performance was a case of trying WAY to hard. The performance ruined what could have been an ok. Story. It was so bad, I had to stop reading part way through, even though I kind of wanted to see how the story turned out.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Story was ok. Not great. Different narrator would help.
    Any additional comments?
Worst reading performance I've ever heard on audible.

    a great sequel
I loved this as much as the first. Changing the narrator was a little confusing at first but I preferred Moira Quirk's style.
Go read book 1 first, it'll make more sense when read in order
    Goblins Rule...
Okay I have to be honest I did not enjoy it as much as the first one, I felt there was a lot of repetition of various scenarios and problems regarding the humans reactions to the supernatural, and the missing brother. But saying that the actual characters and storyline kept me going even though it was stretched thin at times. What I do like and looking forward to seeing developed is the up and coming chaos that could break out and how it is going to pan out in the next book. Will definitely be reading the next in the series.. good to see Goblins in the front seat..

    Good relaxing reading.
    Any additional comments?
Reading Sister Raven, a tale of simpler, mystical times, a girl's awakening to her own magical powers and her family's secret, is like walking from a thick forest into a clear, pastoral setting. Karen Levine's simple, clean, honest, narrative soothes, cleanses and re-invigorates. Danielle Daly's complements Ms. Levine's work admirably with a talented, thoroughly professional reading. Kudos to both of these women for their good work. A good piece for those of us who yearn for a simpler times.
    Short but Sweet!
If you could sum up Sister Raven in three words, what would they be?
    Love Conquers All.
What about Danielle Dalys performance did you like?
She did a good job. She sounded like a Native American. She had presence.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I enjoyed the whole book. I am so glad to find a book on which ravens aren't a bad omen. I have Raven on my totem, so I have respect for this story.

    Publisher's Summary:
Ed Gorman, award-winning author of Bad Moon Rising, says: "Banished, by Billie Sue Mosiman, is one of the most provocative and compelling fantasies I've read in a long time. Storytelling that is...stunning."
When the Queen of the Fallen Angels came to earth again she took the dead body of a 10-year-old native girl on an island. It was the 1200s and life was primitive, but Angelique managed to rule the people for 200 years until Columbus arrived. Escaping her island home, the little angel with her malevolent intent, wandered through the world using humans to do her biding as her parents and guardians. Then she brought down Nisroc, an angel she trusted to be her partner and helpmate. The problem was, Nisroc wasn't like Angelique. Nisroc learned to love. And he had to flee from his life with the terrible child before he lost what soul he had left.

Banish Yourself In An Awesome Read
Lately with all these sub-genres popping up, I was weary to try this Dark Fantasy. I had just read the prequel story Angelique and it had sucked me in immediately. It was a no brainier to download Banished, since at the time it was free. The story was no fluke. Banished pulled me right back into the lives of Angelique and Nisroc. It was amazing how truly evil the character of Angelique is, and yet how fragile. The author is able to make us feel for her, at times, and also wishing for her comeuppance. Nisroc, makes the bridge between "angel" and human much easier, and he loves his life, and wants nothing more than to live it. Once Angelique feels betrayed by Nisroc, she wants nothing more than to destroy him.
Mosiman has been around a while, as you can see by the wide breadth of books available. I must say she is an excellent story teller and writer. I am not a fan of Dark Fantasy. I do not read it. Banished blew me away. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the genre, and even new comers who do not like, or have not read the genre. It is time to dip your toe in the water Billie Sue Mosiman's literary pool. Read Banished now, or get banished.
    Fantastic!!!!
This novel starts off strong and stays that way throughout. From the time you meet Angelique you know that this fallen creature will always want the best of everything. She has deemed herself queen and intends to stay that way through all time. She is one of heaven's fallen angels and has been on this earth before but after spending so many thousands of years banished from heaven she could not take another minute in the outreaches and must find life with humans once more. When she makes it into human form it is not what she had wished it to be but she will make the best of what she was given. After hundreds of years spent having humans care for her it was time for her to call one of her kind to help and care for her as only a servant that can live as long as she can.
She calls upon Nisroc, a fallen like she but she knows he can hold his place and care for her. But Nisroc has something she will never have, a love for the human creatures.

Incredible new addition to Joel's horrorific work!
If you had the chance to sit down and talk with death, what would it be about? Would you ask him why he comes? Would you ask him what his favorite color was? Or would you simply sit there, thinking how does he work? Well, in Joel M. Andre's newest short story release, we get a glimpse at what it's like to sit down and have a conversation with death.
In this newest story, we get the eerie, dark humor that Andre's known for, but we get a little more in this one. We get the "how does death really work" side of things, and the what if's and whys. By the end of the story (it's not long...just 30 minutes read time.), the reader is left thinking about changing their way of thinking about things. The man in this story, is full of questions and thoughts. The answers that Death gives him, really make the mind work. The man asked Death to help a "sick" person along with their death, and the ending hits the reader with a whopper!
With an unexpected outcome, and a whole new look on Death, life and the things that happen in between, really blow the reader away! This is definitely a 5 Book worthy short story and one that I think will make the PERFECT addition to your Joel M. Andre horror collection! Don't just sit there....grab this $.99 read NOW! Absolutely incrediriftastic job, Joel!

    Interesting Discussion with Death
If you had the opportunity to meet Death on neutral ground (and not because you're, you know...dead) would you jump at the chance to quiz the being that most people try their best to avoid?
"Tea With Death" is a very short novella that wastes no time getting to the heart of topic: Death. While the story contains sarcasm and humor, it also veers off into pretty serious territory. Our main character decides it's sit down time with Death. The information that is shared with him by Death about the end of a person's life gives the impression of a complex situation; one that isn't easily explained over a cup of tea. We discover that our nameless main character has lost a son to depression in which he claimed his own life. In trying to understand the process of death as it is being explained to him by Death itself our character asks if Death can do him a favor. As quoted from the novella: "A favor from Death comes with a price...." And what a favor it was.
This is a very well written short story. It explained enough back story in just the right order to make this book a winner. It was fully developed, not leaving anything pertinent out, nor was it rushed.
    A couple short quotes:
..."All around you the belief is that the only life that matters is your own.

    Critic Reviews:
"When I want to scratch my paranormal itch, there's nothing better than a book by Colleen Gleason!" (Robyn Carr, #1 NY Times Bestselling Author)
    Members Reviews:
    Great Second Book!
I really couldn't help it. As soon as I finished The Rest Falls Away, I immediately began reading book 2, and literally could not put it down-as in, I read it until 6 am. I am so happy I found this series. If you haven't read the first book, there is going to be a big spoiler coming up. Just a heads up.
It's a year later, and Victoria's mourning is officially over as far as the ton(high society) is concerned. Now she is a very rich widow, and can pretty much do as she pleases. And what pleases her, is hunting vampires on the streets of early 1800's London. As a Venator, otherwise known as a vampire hunter, she has much more strength then a normal woman. As before, she puts herself into all kinds of dangerous situations, involving evil humans, vampires, and even a demon. Lilith's son, Nedas, is plotting to raise the dead in order to massacre as many human's as he can, just because he is the embodiment of evil. With his mother being the ancient queen of the vampires (dating back to biblical times), how could he not be evil? To make matters worse, Max, her fellow Venator, is missing. So Victoria must go to Italy to try and get to Nedas before he can unleash his evil. The Tutela, the human society that is made up of vampire protectors is featured this time. It's a secret society, and Victoria has to infiltrate it as a regular society woman. Danger at every turn.
This book was a complete roller coaster ride of a story. Adventure, danger, blood thirsty vampires, and even a romance of sorts, made this book a non stop read for me. Victoria is really coming into her own as a Venator. She has fears, but you wouldn't know it by her actions. She takes the cake as a Type A vampire hunter for sure. She lets nothing stop her, even when something really should. Sebastian is back for this book as well. As the handsome. sometimes really shady, man most interested in Victoria for his own purposes, Victoria would as soon slap him upside head, as sleep with him. Their sparring banter is fraught with sexual innuendo, and that was one of the fun parts of the book for me. Will they or won't they? I am not telling!
As with the last book, I found this book to be a major page turner, stay up all night read. I didn't think it was possible, but I think perhaps this book is even more exciting then the first one.

    mediocre book and performance
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
A mediocre story and performance with a predictable ending. The narration was poor to fair at best.
If youve listened to books by V. J. Banis before, how does this one compare?
    na
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator sounded like a grade school student reading when called upon to do so by the teacher.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
    No
    Any additional comments?
A better narrator would make the book more enjoyable however the story was also insipid and predictable.
