    Publisher's Summary:
She was suddenly far from the underwater world, in a place that existed only in fire. The pressure was exquisite, crushing the breath and life from her. Magma spewed from roaring fountains, cascading all around her, touching the hem of her simple white dress and crumbling it to blackened ash. Soon, the shoes that had been on her feet were burned away, and only her pale skin was left behind. She stepped unflinchingly into the largest of the magma rivers, and waded out into the very center. Magma rose up from just beneath her, moving slowly up her skin as though a force greater than the center of the earth pulled it. It continued to rise until it covered her whole body, then it cooled rapidly, encasing her within smooth, black stone.
There was no air anymore. No thought. No light.
    Only instinct.
Golden-white light shot from the tips of her fingers downward into the magma, cracking the black stone, making the bubbling fire glow with radiance. It spread quickly through the river that she stood in, then traveled outward, rapidly transforming the entire network of rivers and streams, firefalls and oceans, until all were lit with her golden-white light.
As the winding up days of the great and final battle commence, old alliances come to the fore, new alliances are strengthened, and their world of shifting light and dark becomes more hopeful as the numbers of the Luminari and those that follow the Dragon-King Cerralys continues to grow stronger.
And then suddenly the unthinkable happens, and Auri discovers a secret so brutal that it shatters everything she knows. Everything she is. Before the end is come, before the final battle-horn knells and the fire of the Rebel Dragons descends, she must somehow find the courage to be the White Queen of elven prophecy, the strength to face the darkest shadows of Terradin, and the graces to heal that which seems irreparably broken.
For herself, and for those that she just can't live without.

    Totally captivating!
I have been a fan of this series since I stumbled upon it on Amazon. I loved this book from the moment I picked it up, and found it very hard to put down. I have been a fan of all three of Dusty Lynn Holloway's books, but I have found this one to be the richest and fullest by far. Suspense, romance, love, adventure, fantasy, it's all there. Great books, all of them, but I must say book three is by far the richest, fullest of them. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be a dragon, lol? I believe that as the characters in the story line have matured, so has Dusty as a writer. She draws you in and doesn't let you go. I could not bring myself to put this book down, unless absolutely necessary. In fact, after the first reading, I turned around and read it again. I can hardly wait for part two of Dragon Light.
    Dragon Light
Beautiful writing. I've read all 3 books in the last week. Book 1 was interesting and captivating, book 2 was sappy and lacked focus, book 3 finally came together. I was really hoping that this would be the final book in the series, but it is not the case. I hope book 4 comes out soon...

The Patterns & Parallels Saga - Book 3
I have not read book 1 & 2 from this series but have found that book 3 did not captivate me that much. Perhaps, it would have been better if I had read the previous books.
IMO the book was not as interesting as I thought it would be. Most of this book is written in Donnie's POV. There is a bit of Olivia's POV as well.
Donnie & Olivia are in different places throughout the book. They are both dealing with major issues where they are and when you think they might have a chance of reuniting something horrible happens. It ends in a major CLIFFHANGER!
The narrator was a bit monotonous for my taste.
**This audiobook was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.**
    Good...but read in order
    Any additional comments?
    Creative and interesting story.
While I like the concept and I did like this story, it was a bit confusing in the beginning .I think the series needs to be read in order to be fully enjoyed. This is the 3rd book in the series. Many times you can pick up a book in a series and it has no effect on the story, that is not the case here.
Parallel worlds that can communicate with and travel to each other. There are explanations given reguarding the travel and communication between the worlds. Metalworld sounds somewhat like a Victorian Steampunk.
The story itself is interesting and told in dual POV's. Donnie is in Metalword and Olivia is in Paperworld. Both are trying to find a way back to each other.
Johnathan Johns did a good job with the narration. Nice pleasant voice ,easy on the ears. Nice even pace.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.
Jonathan Johns did a very good job narrating
This is the first in the Patterns and Parallels Saga I've read, but I like the concept of the series. There are multiple worlds that you can travel between and communicate between. Like I said, this is the first I've read, so I'm not sure if the other books have as much explaining in them as this one. It seems like we find out a lot about how the traveling works, how communications work, and the different worlds. I wasn't that interested in the relationship between Donnie and Olivia, but I think most of that could be attributed to the length of the book.
Jonathan Johns did a very good job narrating.

    Five Stars
Very FUN stories. Love this book
    Small stories with big impact.
A great collection of short stories, some of which have extremely interesting and intriguing characters and worlds that would be great to see fleshed out more fully in longer works. I look forward to reading more.
Lifting the Veil: Tales of Discovery and Magic
Lifting the Veil: Tales of Discovery and Magic
Lifting the Veil: Tales of Discovery and Magic is a collection of five short tales of fantasy from author J. H. Fleming. As it is often suiting for individual stories to be reviewed on their respective merit, each story is rated below.
    The Clockman ***
The action begins with The Clockman, a tale featuring multiple characters and depicting the political turmoil of a world wherein the balance of magical power is regulated. There is much happening here, almost too much for a short story, some readers may find, and while the writing is sound, the concepts and characters might have been better explored in a longer work. Three stars.
    Child of the Wood *****
Child of the Wood is the story of an orphan-turned-priestess within the confines of her culture and the transformative experiences offered by the vast world outside. In its depictions of the aforementioned world, and in the characterâs development throughout, this story is quite engagingâsolid gold, in factâand accommodates everything the previous story may have lacked. Five stars.
    The Mirror of Time *****
The Mirror of Time is the story of an ageless woman and the secret that occupies her many years, a mirror with remarkable properties. This is a simple tale, but a shining and imaginative one evocative of classical mythology and fantasy tales. Five stars.
    The Phoenix ****
The Phoenix is a story with a darker, rougher turn than the previous offerings. In this story, a woman who experiences violence and tragedy escapes to discover a new life and a transformation via a magical mask. Also, this is a tale of vengeance. Four stars.
    The Dream Contest ***
In The Dream Contest, a master and his pupil, Dreamers they are called, attend a special tournament in which battles are waged through a dreamscape of imagination. I found the characters less memorable than the setting and phenomenon, which are well-described, so the ultimate effectiveness of this story will hinge on the readersâ personal tastes. Three stars.
All in all, this is a solid debut effort from J. H. Fleming. Not everyone writes this style of fantasy in such fresh form, and perhaps this is a hint of whatâs to come.
    J. H. is one of the best ârookieâ authors Iâve ever read.
    Maybe the best. Seriously. Wow.

Rough Start: Didnt realize it was a part 2
    Any additional comments?
The narrator has a good clear tone, and consistent flow. A little more inflection between characters and pauses would be nice to see in the future, but not bad.
The book it self, the writing felt a bit choppy and was hard for me to get into. Would probably of helped if I had realized it was a sequel. Definitely not a stand alone book. lol

Now the manhunt begins to capture Jim Slate...dead or alive!
    Members Reviews:
    A Fun Diversion
This book, based in the Vietnam War era, pulls us into the slimy underworld of the New Jersey mafia and the ongoing war between two of the mob families, run by Michael Monzo and Martin "Mardi Gras" Stubbs, respectively. But that's not all - Stubbs has gotten hold of a werewolf that he uses to kill his enemies. His werewolf bites one of Monzo's men, making him a werewolf too.
Enter John Slate, former mercenary and current construction worker, who happens to be in the same dive bar with Monzo and Pegg, the wizard who controls werewolves with an amulet. A biker gang comes in and starts a fight, and Monzo is so impressed with Slate's fighting skills that he kidnaps him and turns him into a werewolf to add to his arsenal.
The mob wars escalate with the addition of werewolves, needless to say. Slate is a little too smart to be held captive for long though.
Although this is not the type of book I would normally pick up, I can truly say that I read it from cover to cover in practically one sitting. There is a lot of gory violence, but since it is fantasy it didn't really bother me as it might in another genre. The characters are interesting and well-developed, and the story moves along at a rapid pace with a cool ending. This book will not disappoint!
    Smart and Fun
Very much enjoyed this read. It was fun and very well written. Will be recommending this. Thank you to the author for a unique story!
    Moonrise... Manhunt... Hitwolf...
Thinking back, I hesitated over giving 5 stars or 4 stars but I lean more toward having loved the book than just liked it. Intense and fast paced and quite interesting, great cultural wisecracks. Spartan writing to the point of one and two word sentences, but well used and placed. The only thing that I wasn't too keen on is a few times it seemed like there were a few too many characters and I became confused and had to go back a page or two and reread.
Slate reminded me of Jack Reacher, only I liked Slate better, another reason to go with five stars. Reacher got on my nerves pretty quickly as he seemed too prone to gratuitous violence just for the shock value. The violence in Hitwolf seemed more justified and was at times even more fantastical and brutal, but was just more fun. And yes, I will admit to being a little squeamish and skipping over gruesome details occasionally.

    Publisher's Summary:
Ireland, 1911. After encountering a faery in the woodlands near his home in Tralee when he is a child, Professor Emmet Brehon spends his life pursuing the belief that faeries are more than just elements of mythology. While teaching Irish mythology and folklore at a university in Dublin, he receives a note from a stranger who claims to know where faeries can be found. Following the map that the stranger gives him, Emmet travels to a faerie circle and mound near Lough Leane in Kerry, where he encounters two ghostly little girls and a faery light. Snapping a photograph of the girls and faery light with his Brownie camera, Emmet's life becomes twisted when he discovers that he can't rid himself of the photograph, and disasters occur whenever he is present. He soon loses all in life that it is precious to him, including his sanity.
    Members Reviews:
Fun & interesting Irish ghost story.
Starting off in 1911 Ireland, Professor Emmet Brehon is on the hunt for fairies. He believes they are more than simple bits of folklore. He finds a secluded place that is rumored to be visited by fairies and surprisingly, he sees two young fairy like girls and a mysterious light. He snaps a photo, intending to use it as proof of the existence of fairies. Alas, one misfortune after another falls upon Emmet and those close to him. He starts to suspect the photo may be more than a simple picture.
The story took a little while for me to get into. Things start off quaint and cozy. Once horrible things start happening, the pace picks up and things are much more interesting. First, theres this mysterious photo and Emmet is the only one who seems to be able to see the fairies and the ghostly light in it. Then he notices that when he sees nothing but the background vegetation in the photo, bad things happen. First, theres a car accident and the mother of his fiance is killed. At the funeral, there is an awful storm and the open grave fills with water and the coffin floats off, perusing Emmet and Katherine (his fiance). It goes on from there the spooky and misfortunate and disfiguring and sometimes deadly events pile up.
Emmet eventually learns that he cant destroy or bury or pass off the photo to be free of the troublesome spirits that inhabit it. Unfortunately, he also can no longer get stinking drunk and forget about the photo. Poor dude. Emmet tries to the flee Ireland, hoping to leave the magic that powers the spirits behind. However, this proves very difficult. I really enjoyed that it was not easy or simple for Emmet to be free of these spirits. It becomes the thing that drives him but also the thing that gets him in trouble with friends and authorities alike.
The story spans 4 years and the author threw in some references to famous people or events of the time, like Houdini and the Titanic. I like that he did this, giving me reference points to other things happening in the world at the same time that Emmet is struggling with his spirits.. or a mental illness? Indeed, as the story moved forward, I had to start wondering if Emmet was all there, as some characters in the story wonder. The author doesnt push the reader one way or the other and its up to you to decide.
Over all, it was a fun tale of classic horror. Theres not much gore, as the story relies mostly on the psychological terror of the events Emmet is party to, or at least a witness to.
