Title: The Power of Passion in Leadership
Subtitle: Lead from Your Heart, Not Just Your Head
    Author: Hans Finzel
    Narrator: Hans Finzel
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 5 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-29-15
    Publisher: Top Ten Enterprises Publishing
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 6 votes
    Genres: Business, Leadership
    Publisher's Summary:
Do you do what you love and love what you do? How many of us are stuck in day jobs that really don't suit us? Has our heart left the building? It is so easy to go through the motions in leadership and management and lead with our heads, while our hearts long to be elsewhere.
In this short new passion-packed audiobook by Dr. Hans Finzel you will learn what it means to work in your "passion zone." Hans explains, from his own journey, how to find your passion zone and what action steps to take if you are far from that place of fulfillment. Specifically you will learn about how to match up your profile and wiring to just the right assignment.
People love following leaders whose hearts are fueled by passion. This book will help you uncover what passion in your work really is, and how to find it, no matter what stage you are at in your career. The advice in this book is especially powerful for anyone in a role of leadership that is experiencing boredom or burn out. Life is too short to settle for less than the best - especially if we are called to lead other people.
Leading from the heart is working and leading from your passion zone. Why does leading from the heart really matter? It can be natural to think, "If I am smart enough, gifted enough, and work hard enough, of course people will respond to my leadership." The more gifted you are, and the smarter you are, the more that this can be a temptation and the easy default. The problem is, that kind of leadership does not inspire people and build deep loyalty. The opposite is often true. People follow people who they know, trust and believe. That trust is built between leader and follower within their hearts. People follow leaders who are operating in their "passion zone." There is some sort of a magnetic loyalty that grows in followers who respond to leaders who lead with passion out front.

    personal, applicable, short easy read
Again Hans puts a personal touch into a complex topic, where passion fits in leadership, and when to go all in, or go on to something new. Most leadership books only tout the successes of life, but Hans shares openly about his successes and failures. Good book, check out the others as well.
    Great read. Above all else
Great read. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23. Another inspiring work by Dr. Finzel. His passion for leadership comes through once more. Highly recommend.
    Great quick and easy read!
This is a great book to read. I picked up some valuable insight on how passion is so important in what you do for a living. Without it you really are just going through the motions.
    Succinct, practical, explainable.
This is a great, quick book for anyone struggling to keep not only their head in the game, but their heart as well.
    Five Stars
Perfect for training people want to be leader

    Publisher's Summary:
Those who give away power surround themselves with loyal and powerful supporters. Far from the quagmire of "blind obedience", today's leadership requires empowerment at all levels. The world moves too fast for one person in any organization to make all the decisions. To compete and excel, entire organizations must move in unison, like well-practiced teams, where everyone is aiming toward similar goals. The old power pyramids of corporate America are crumbling and being replaced with fast, mobile leadership teams. It's a leadership revolution! Elements of which include:
One man who has the unique perspective to observe and analyze leadership, both in corporate America and the military, is retired Air Force Major General Perry M. Smith. As the on-air military expert for Cable News Network (CNN), he was on the scene throughout the peak of the action in "Desert Storm." With his firsthand insights into the leadership style of a cutting-edge communications company, CNN, and the new "manager-style" generals like Schwarzkopf, he fills Taking Charge with the most useful leadership ideas ever He also shares many of the lessons from his long and storied career. You may not associate words like "flexibility" with military leadership. However, in today's high-tech, high-speed, ever-changing world all the elements of the new leadership are essential for survival and success. Schwarzkopf himself drove this point home by emphasizing that to succeed, "it didn't take a hero." It took a special kind of management and leadership.

What enables great corporate leaders to detect signals that their industry, or perhaps the entire world, is about to change? How are they able to place their companies in a position to capitalize on that change? And how can you become one of those extraordinary people? It boils down to one word - vision. Leaders who lacked it have often guided their companies to obsolescence and failure. The rare leaders who cultivated a strong vision have disrupted industries, created new ones, and remade the world. For example, you may never have heard of Ingvar Kamprad, but his vision of design furniture that should not just be accessible to the "happy few" led to the global success of Ikea. John F. Kennedy's 1961 vision that America could put a man on the moon "by the end of the decade" led to just that - as well as new products ranging from LED lights to artificial limbs. The recent economic boom in Dubai has occurred thanks to a sheikh who realized the region's oil supply would eventually run out. So he developed a vision for today's Dubai, a modern city that focuses on service industries as different as high finance and high-end tourism. Fortunately, visionary leadership is never an accident of birth.
This audiobook will teach you the practices that can make you a successful visionary, such as:

  • Moxie Audiobook by John Baldoni

    Title: Moxie
Subtitle: The Secret to Bold and Gutsy Leadership
    Author: John Baldoni
    Narrator: Tim Andres Pabon
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 41 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-22-14
    Publisher: Bibliomotion, Inc
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 2 votes
    Genres: Business, Leadership
    Publisher's Summary:
Leaders today need to be mindful of their circumstances as well as mindful of their own strengths and shortcomings. They need to have the disposition to succeed as well as the inner resourcefulness to persevere. Leaders must be willing to do things differently but also draw on tried and true traits, such as courage and gumption. Moxie is a concept that the modern leader is wise to adopt - one part courage, one part can-do spirit, and one part recognition.
In Moxie: The Secret to Bold and Gutsy Leadership, author John Baldoni uses concrete, tried-and-true steps to bring out the inner leader in everyone. For management and employees alike, Moxie provides a roadmap to inspire innovation and effective leadership. Whether you're already at the helm of your organization or still looking for a way up the ladder, Moxie is the leadership tool you can't do without. Built on the MOXIE framework, leaders learn how Motivation, Opportunity, an "X" factor, Innovation, and Engagement work together for success.
    Critic Reviews:
"...a valuable book for today's leaders... Brilliantly integrating the traditional psychology of self-awareness with the critical need for people skills and resiliency, Moxie proves to be the whole package. Highly readable and inspiring!" (Stephen M. R. Covey, best-selling author of The Speed of Trust and coauthor of Smart Trust)

Easy and fast read. Great Book!
Simple and to the point with references easy to follow. BLUF - Buy, read, and share with staff to better coach, counsel, and mentor.
    A great read!
Sage advice on leadership! Moxie as an Acronym (for Mindfulness, Opportunity, X Factor, Innovation and Engagement) is so interesting and should provide insight for leaders of all types of organizations. This book is very well written with many real life examples and illustrations to drive home the ideas.
    Nice, hardcover
This book feels right. Nice, hardcover, compact format perfect for quickly slipping in and out of a travel bag. Great slipcover design with a compelling title. Who doesn't want Moxie when it comes to navigating day-to-day business and personal challenges.
    The usual management speak
If we were all kind, generous, helpful and resourceful we would have world peace. The book takes a similar approach to leadership. It does not tap into an individual's diverse and unique self but instead creates a template into which any leader should fit in order to be effective or successful. Same as 90 of the 100 books in the topic do. Even if a reader felt inspired for few short minutes or even days, it will fail to bring about a lasting change.
    No guts.
Baldoni offers interesting insights in this book but I had to wonderâ What is the target audience? If this book is targeted at leadership professionals looking to make a difference in their organization this book falls flat. There are some cursory examples, but nothing that will change your philosophy on leadership or engagement. For most of the book I found myself wishing I could get a refund.

Enjoyable; relevancy to boardrooms is loose
If you like this sort of thing, and I do, this is a nice wide-ranging sampler of Analects by Confucius, Tao te Ching, Inner Chapters by Chuang Tzu, Art of War by Sun Tzu, and a few similar sources I hadn't previously read. I find it very soothing and I get into a creative thinking "zone" when taking my long walks and listening to these loose and poetic parables and aphorisms, and imagining how they might fit with my world and time and thinking and experiences. It is a nice decompression and "unwind" mentally from the business and history tomes I am otherwise gobbling up. It is wide-ranging: there is a lot of basic and classical ethical thinking; there was an interesting bit of proto-imperialist thinking, a very stirring explanation of capitalist-style incentives (long before Adam Smith's day), and some very Machiavellian war planning thinking (pointers for using and expending spies, anyone?). Imaginatively, it is easy and fun for me to link bits of it to my own experience. But there is very little real effort at connecting dots to something actionable in a modern boardroom. I guess that is left to the mind of the beholder.
Useful text collection. But is it for Boardroom.
Where does Confucius in the Boardroom rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    About the middle.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Confucius in the Boardroom?
    Quotes from Chuang Tzu.
Which character as performed by Blair Underwood and Stephanie Zimbalist was your favorite?
    not apply.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
    Many individual quotes.
    Any additional comments?
This consists of numerous passages from classical Chinese philosophers. They are excellent quotes, and, given the lack of recordings of some of these classics it is valuable to have them on CD.
However, the title is misleading. I don't see that these quotes were chosen particularly for the boardroom, or for executives. There is at least as much focus on general cosmology (about which I am more interested than politics mystelf). There are numerous quotes in Confucius that would direcly applicable to ruling a country or a town, but the sample of quotes no more focuses on these than on any other aspect of Confucius. Similarly, Lao Tzu has a whole political aspects that was commented on by the legalist Han Fei, but these quotes relating to politics are no more frequent in the selections than any other cosmological, mystical or psychological quotes or Lao Tzu.
The quotes are fine and profound, but they seem selected more or less at random, and not with a focus on managment or the role of the executive. Perhaps the title was added after the fact to sell the CD.

    Publisher's Summary:
Welcome to a very different kind of business book.
Never Work Again shows you how you can build a successful and profitable business without the long hours and high stress that most entrepreneurs suffer from.
Trust me - I've been there and it's not fun. In the months after I started my first business I didn't know any better. My business was making me ill, but I was too wrapped up in what I was doing to spot the signs let alone to do anything about it. That is until the day I found myself on a London tube train begging a stranger to call me an ambulance and thinking I was going to die. That was my wake-up call. Luckily I got a second chance.
That day I realised that life is short and precious, and I made a decision that if I pulled through I was going to do things differently. I decided to restructure my business efforts, so that I could live life to the full.
What I decided to create for myself was:
And now I want to help you do the same.
After all, deciding to start your own business is something you do because you have a vision of a better life for you and your family. It's your chance to take control and live life on your terms. And done right it will give you the financial freedom and the time freedom to do the things you love, when you want to do them and with the people who matter most in your life.
Never Work Again will show you how to create a business that gives you the time to work on your own passions in life.
In short, a business that allows you to work less and earn more.

Do not judge the book by its cover
You will have better use out of the four hour workweek by Tim Ferris and rich dad poor dad. Very obvious that these books were referenced heavily when he wrote this book or should I say just copied the ideas. Also he mentions his website about 100 times, no doubt, using this book to funnel you there in order to buy a more expensive piece of information that probably delivers the same copied ideas...
    Brilliant
Just added"meeting Erland" to my bucket list...it gives me great hope that when I am thinking the right way, the right people show up in my life...thank you Sir Erland!!!

    Great book for investors
    Wonderful Book!
I really recommend to anyone who is interested to succeed and go forward.
A good book, but 4-hour work week in disguise.
I think it's a good book, even though it is kind of a rewritten 4-hour work week, most of the topics and points are the same.
It's some nice tools etc. but it quickly becomes clear that this book is a lead generator for Erlands courses and etc. but he is not trying to hide it.
I think that there are some really strong points in the book, which most people can use, what I like most is the first topics about the philosophy which amazingly very few Entrepreneurs are aware of: you can always make more money, but your time is only once, so spend it wisely and figure out what you love.
    Excrptional book.
There are very few books that have inspired me to explore the world of e-commerce paired with outsourcing as well as this book has. This book inspires one to just want to take action and start. There are many free tesources included in the book and well worth the read(listen)

Technology, global economics, and demographics are colluding to create workspaces that thrive on communities rather than hierarchies. Our industrial paradigm with its roots in the military is swiftly being replaced by a paradigm based on networks that are held together by passion and social connections, and fueled by instantaneous interactions between members of communities. This new paradigm is creating a massive impact on how we think about successful leadership and how we develop leaders. We have found that this shift involves thinking of leaders more as Mayors and less as Generals. The Social Leader structures a new approach to leadership and provides tools for leaders to understand themselves in this new era of connectedness and community. Authors Frank Guglielmo and Sudhanshu Palshule describe and explain the five new imperatives of leadership, the Tenets of Social Leadership, illustrating ways for leaders and would-be leaders to reimagine their personal narratives and their leadership capabilities.
