Laughable bottom-rung juvenile semi-erotica

This story is the best indication that anyone, and I do mean ANYONE, can get a book published (including through self-publishing) and in audiobook form too. This book is so bad it seems to be a joke. A small example of some of the ineptness within include these statements:

"I can kiss good when I feel like it."

"No I think it will be I who wins this time."

"Took Lucas' penis by the mouth."

"It reached all to the back of the throat."

"After he was done sucking her chest."

And the author actually refers to vagina as "snatch." Does any ADULT still use that term except in jest?

So the story is about college-age characters Eric (gay; serious social anxiety), Luke, & Laura (both age 20). Eric and Luke are step siblings. Laura is Luke's girlfriend. Both Luke and Laura attend college. Eric still lives at home and pays rent to their parents. There is 1 sex scene between Luke & Eric and 1 between Luke & Laura.

The story included daily minutiae like what Laura had to buy for her sorority sisters, though it added absolutely nothing to the story. And there were several other parts like that, especially some of the conversations between Luke and Laura including her talking about how he should eat better and visit his mom more. And those moments were more than just a 1 sentence note.

The narrator's voice for the female characters is whiny and nasally and vastly, unbelievably irritating. She sounds like she's trying to act instead of being the characters. There's an air of unnecessary and unappealing exaggeration in her portrayals. Add that to the severely juvenile writing, and you have the mess that is this "story."

And the little supposed twist in the story couldn't have been more obvious. It along with the ending, which the twist help manufacture helped support my belief that this author is no older than 17 and not an A English student either. Maybe a C.

Story seems unfinished, Narration annoying

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. It had potential.The writing is good, but there isn't enough of a plot in the story. Characters come in and out, perhaps for just one scene without apparently contributing to the development of a story at all. Then the story just suddenly stops, and hasn't really gone anywhere. It's a bit like flicking through someone's diary and just reading the odd section here and there. Great description, but no real plot. This is also leads to boredom with the narrator, and his introspection. He also becomes less likeable as the book goes on, and as there are few others that we get to know in detail, this is irritating.

What did you like best about this story?

Some of the description was very evocative, and really captured the mood of the lonely traveler absorbing a new city.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The style of narration was very odd. He inserts very frequent, rather long pauses, not only between but within sentences. It's so strangely slow, sort of like the weird style of some of the WWII radio propaganda. Eventually, when the protagonist is mostly conversing with non-native English speakers, this slow style with frequent pauses is more appropriate. Or perhaps I just got used to it.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

I would have liked the author to have elaborated on many of the plot points that were introduced along the way. They had potential to lead somewhere, but were just dropped. The narrator's lack of curiosity about other people's lives means that conversations in which they begin to tell us something interesting are stopped too soon. I am not sure why it was published at this point. It seems cruel to the author not to allow him time to develop the book before it was wasted.

Heart-breaking

I think I broke my personal record when I started crying on page 2. The topic is close to heart and it's written so realistically. It even has an uplifting ending. I'm so happy for Avery. /when will I stop crying tho?/

One thing that put me off a bit was the sex scene. It was understandable and expected in the story but I was still crying and I felt there should've been a slower change of mood. Although the story is literally 25 pages long so I'm just being picky.

As I said the story is 25 pages long but it made me cry for Avery more than for some characters in 6 book series. I definitely broke my record in getting attached to characters so fast. Avery is so relatable.

Also I liked the writing and the composition of the story with several well-placed flashbacks.

This was a beautiful story

This story made me cry. The deep love Avery has for Michael is beautiful. I can't imagine losing someone I love like Avery lost Michael.

But it was also a very good one, with a sort of happy ending, which, while not as good as a happy ending, is better then no happiness at all! :)

Great read

This story was something you may wish for and it is so sweet you want see if the wish will come true. This is a wish we all like to have when we lose someone we love and can't live without.

Sad but touching

One More Day is a story that more people can relate to. The death of as love one is a hard thing to deal with. Chance and Bella did a wonderful job portraying the emotions of Avery, who, after six months, is still mourning the loss of his lover Michael. You can feel the love he had for him through the words of the story. It made me remember the death of my sister. Still, I wish I could spend one more day with her. One More Time is a good read. Just prepare to feel the feels.

Tortured souls finds mates

Trask and Riley are hot on there own but there is a missing piece...Jade is Trask's "obsession" but he feels she will complete their family. Riley trying to see if Trask is right sets up to meet Jade and immediately realizes Trask is right but...can they get beyond the walls to each other's hearts. Can they make it work? It looks like maybe...but damn wth is going to happen with Will/Mr. Parks...summit I can't wait for the next book...I already preordered it.

Two lovers and a stranger find room in there hearts for one another, but there is more than meets the eye to this story, great charecters, unique storyline, and yes major cliffhanger!! Can't wait to see what developes in the next book.

New author great story awesome debut.

UBER CLIFF HANGER

CAUTION: UBER CLIFF HANGER!!! I wish I had know for certain if this was a stand alone when I started. Where to begin.... To start with, this manuscript reads like a rough draft. The grammar and spelling errors are really bad. I didn't highlight all of them, but in the end, I found at least 20 instances where I marked an error on my kindle. There is no fluidity to this story. It was kind of like driving a clutch for the first time. The characters are interesting, and it seemed this story could have gone somewhere, but there really is no intro to who these people are and the reader is asked to work way too hard to piece everthing together. I get it that you learn a little along the way, but it made getting into the story difficult. And you REALLY have to like M/M/M scenes, as that is what most of them are. I don't mind it, but it should have been listed in the description more clearly. You may even draw a more appreciative audience if you do! Jade seems so out of place in this story. I gave 3 stars instead of two because of the potential. I would have given it 2, only because it kept me just barely interested inough to finish. I really don't know if I'll read the follow up. I wasn't that absorbed in this group or this story. Again, what "could have been" with this work seems pretty good. But I wouldn't recommend it to highly - unles you are really into M/M/M, and not much more. Sorry LP Lendeman. It just didn't work for me.

Binding Cause is not my normal kind of read. But I like to try new things and go outside of my comfort zone. This was a good story with a great plot. I can not wait for the next book to find out what will happen. The relationship between Riley and Trask was awesome and then they brought Jade into the relationship.

Made a mistake purchasing this short story. Begins with gay cross dressing and ends with lesbians. No thanks not for me. Storyline mildly interesting. Narrator excellent. Intimacy lacking.
