Smokinâ Hot Read!
Wow. What a ride!
Letâs start with the things that bothered me and tried to take away from my enjoyment of this story. Iâm very surprised that the editors didnât catch these!
There are some minor formatting and/or grammatical issues. These were a little bothersome, but didnât really interfere with the story.
There are some minor continuity issues that I caught which threw me out of the story and caused me to backtrack several paragraphs to figure out what the problem was. For instance, he fists the sheet when he was actually on the desk, sans sheet - things like that. (Did I mention this is one HOT story?)
I can get over these types of things if Iâm reading a good story. But the main issue I had was trying to figure out who was saying what. A good portion of the time I was backtracking, scratching my head and trying to figure out who was talking. Along with this, there were a lot of âhe did thisâ and âhe did thatâ but which he? Sometimes I could figure it out, sometimes I couldnât.
Having said all of that, letâs get to the important part: I LOVED this story! I loved the characters and I loved seeing how the relationships progressed. Ms. Malcolm did a good job of showing me her characterâs personalities. This was hampered a bit by the unattributed dialogue and action, but enough came through for me to get a pretty good idea of what each person was dealing with and how that affected the decisions they made.
Oh, and did I tell you that this story is HOT? Yeah, if you donât like sex in your stories - in particular true m/m/f - then this one isnât for you. For the rest of us? I can highly recommend âPursuing Fantasiesâ both for the hot factor AND for the story. Itâs that good.
I give âPursuing Fantasies 4.5 STARS, rounded up to FIVE because Amazon doesnât do halvsies. The story and the characters overrode most of the issues I had with this book, which is why I only took away 1/2 star. This one is going into my âread again and againâ pile.
About my book reviews: They are written based on what I would want to know about a book that the blurb doesnât cover, and what I think was good and/or bad about the story and/or the writing. I do not give away plot spoilers, unless I feel it is essential for a reader to know (i.e., warning about a potential trigger) and I donât rehash the storyline.
Note: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
