Give up his dream, or go for exactly what he wants?
Sam Grau never planned on seeing his former best friend again. One-night stands worked well enough to ease his heartache and loneliness... except he wanted more. He has a choice: chase his dreams or the man he loves. He can't have both.
Josh Thomas never gave up on finding the one man who understood him down to the cellular level. He walked away once, but not a second time. He's willing to sacrifice his heart and pride to show his quirky friends the men they've both become, all in the name of saving Sam.

B- rating.....
My Review:
This is a friends to lovers book...but it's been a relationship that's been on hold for ten years. Ten years ago, they were best friends and now they don't even keep in touch, although they both had deep feelings for each other at the time. Neither one ever told the other how they felt ten years ago, but those harbored feelings are both really still there. I liked that set-up and would have liked the book better if it had been left at that.
But there's a lot to the story. Honestly I think it was too much detail/too much conflict for such a short book because none of it felt quite right or adequately explained and resolved.
*There's the history between the men.
*There was a bit of discussion about Sam's (I think it was Sam) emotionally charged upbringing.
*Sam is also in the middle of trying to establish a new career...and there was some real confusion to that part of the story because Josh lives in another town, but he talks with someone about Sam's ability to work at this center with someone in power, but from what I understood, Josh is new to the area, is an air traffic controller, and lives in a whole other town. Why would he have anything to do with the hiring at a youth center program?
*Sam is a man-whore, but wants a real relationship.
This could have been a really amazing book, but for me, it just fell a little bit short. The bond that should have been there between the two men just didn't translate emotionally for me on the page. I kept feeling like there was a little something missing to all the many layers of the story.
Why does Sam need saving?
In the second of the Zero, Ohio series a promiscuous man who has thin apartment walls by chance has his former best friend walk into the bar he now works at. He is so different he's sure his friend won't recognize and that's fine by him. Why? This was a very important person in his life. Tattoos, dyed hair, and piercings he has changed himself. Created a shield. But he has a lovable Rottweiler and a career dream. Is he going to allow his friend back into his life and heart?
simple and easy read
This book was so refreshingly nice. It was really simple and easy to read, but also had a good deal of depth and kept my attention the entire way. I have to say it was so simple that I actually missed a few things and had to go back and re-read sections to catch up, but that never took away from how good the book was as a whole.
Meh!
Not my taste at all. Mostly instant sex, and after one blow job in the bar, he's calling him lover? Right. Lots of piercings, some tattoos, guy liner, multi-colored hair and, oh who cares? I didn't at that point and returned it.
