Nice collection of short stories
This is a collection of different types of stories. They are geared toward men but (being female) I found several of them to be interesting. Most all these stories leave you with something to think about. They are short so if I wasn't terribly interested in one, I knew I wouldn't have to listen too long. Others I would not have minded being a little longer. The narration for these stories was also very good. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
The Story Called Rosie the Riveter Clinched It!!
This collection has something for everyone. My favorite, because I think it is most accurate, is called Rosie the Riveter by Charles Cook.
2 college students 'help' in a senior center ahd by 'help' they (the 2 students) lament the horrible country of their birth [America], evil corporations, the wealthy, etc. They lay the blame on one political party. They commiserate the selfishness of the country especially those who do not believe in their FANATICAL belief in globalization (the planet is doomed) and corporations, evil corporations.
Finally, the crankiest yet quietest old man speaks up, much to everyone's surprise. The 2 college students BEG Mr. McCready to enlighten them (this is done dripping with sarcasm) and he does!
I loved it! All of the stories are good, but Charles Cook knocks it right out of the park with his analysis and links throughout history. I was cheering,'Right on, right on, right on!'
Great book, great performer, wonderful stories and a rousing 4 stars across the board
