    Publisher's Summary:
Modern science and ancient wisdom agree - everything is in a state of vibration. Pioneering sound healer Jonathan Goldman brings these two traditions together on Vocal Toning the Chakras, teaching listeners to harness the power of their own voices - and to bring each chakra humming to life, resonating and aligning these energy centers for health, wellness, and higher consciousness. Since founding the Sound Healers Association in 1982, Jonathan Goldman reaches thousands of people every year through his books, recordings, and seminars presented all over the world. On Vocal Toning the Chakras, he brings decades of research and experience to the task of balancing the seven energy centers of the body. Each chakra impacts a different facet of overall health - when these centers are properly tuned, listeners will experience improved circulation, respiration, digestion, and state of mind. With Vocal Toning the Chakras, listeners will learn how to attune their minds to get the most out of these time-tested acoustic practices. For as Jonathan Goldman teaches: When the right vibrations are matched with the right intent, there is no limit to the healing power of sound.

Just sing joyfully and your chakras join in.
What would have made Vocal Toning the Chakras better?
Original content. Less repetition of basics. More depth and finesse on aspects that truly ARE important in chakra toning.
What do you think your next listen will be?
    I don't know just yet.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jonathan Goldman?
He should read his own material. However, I detect pretense in his very own voice, as if Jonathan is aware that he repackages ancient material.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Vocal Toning the Chakras?
Part 1 and 2 are too similar. The electronic background sound in part 1 is awful in combination with his own, not so good sounding.
    Any additional comments?
I recommend listening and chanting with Swami Kriyananda, who, without pretense, places his voice exactly right, because by chanting he does channel the Highest. Everybody who listens to his chanting (of Mantras) hears this quality immediately. A wonderful tonal chakra awakening sequence is practiced at Ananda Village, accompanied with a gong. There I learned the real thing.

    Language: English
    Release date: 11-11-14

Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
From the New York Times best-selling Author.
Can God be revived in a skeptical age? What would it take to give people a spiritual life more powerful than anything in the past? Deepak Chopra tackles these issues with eloquence and insight in this book. He proposes that God lies at the source of human awareness. Therefore, any person can find the God within that transforms everyday life.
God is in trouble. The rise of the militant atheist movement spearheaded by Richard Dawkins signifies, to many, that the deity is an outmoded myth in the modern world. Deepak Chopra passionately disagrees, seeing the present moment as the perfect time for making spirituality what it really should be: reliable knowledge about higher reality. Outlining a path to God that turns unbelief into the first step of awakening, Deepak shows us that a crisis of faith is like the fire we must pass through on the way to power, truth, and love.
Faith must be saved for everyones sake, he writes. From faith springs a passion for the eternal, which is even stronger than love. Many of us have lost that passion or have never known it. In any age, faith is a cry from the heart. God is the higher consciousness that responds to the cry. By itself, faith cant deliver God, but it does something more timely: It makes God possible.
For three decades, Deepak Chopra has inspired millions with his profound writing and teaching. With The Future of God, he invites us on a journey of the spirit, providing a practical path to understanding God and our own place in the universe. Now, is a moment of reinvigoration, he argues. Now is moment of renewal. Now is the future.
    Critic Reviews:
"Dr Chopra's work will be talked about for a long time to come. (Hans Peter Duerr, Scientific Member and Director Emeritus Max Planck Institute for Physics and Astrophysics)
"As Deepak explains, Dawkins materialism is the delusion, not God. Eastern spiritualists, Western constructivists and quantum physicists agree - the mind shapes, if not creates, the world." (Stuart Hameroff, M.D., Professor, Anesthesiology and Psychology Director, Center for Consciousness Studies The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, www.quantumconsciousness.org)
    "
The Future of God is a brilliant exposition for the need of consciousness-based reality." (Menas C. Kafatos, Fletcher Jones Professor of Computational Physics at Chapman University, and co-author of
The Non-local Universe: The New Physics and Matters of the Mind)
    Members Reviews:
    Very heartfelt work
I had long considered Deepak Chopra as bit pretentious. But this book is solid as a scholarly and inspired work. I also recommend watching his pbs video on the same topic. Both clarifies so much about the concept of god. I have started daily meditation practice inspired by this book.
    Intriguing perspective of God
I was captivated by the way Deepak so clearly put forward both sides of the divide. Listening to The Future of God, through Audible, allows me to listen while visualizing the concepts presented. This book is a gift to me, my loved ones and my coaching clients.

    Publisher's Summary:
Have you ever had an experience where you felt particularly aware of God? If God is real and we are created in God's image, then it makes sense that our minds and bodies would be designed with the perceptive ability to sense and experience God.
Scientists are now discovering ways that our bodies are designed to connect with God. Research shows that our brain systems are wired to enable us to have spiritual experiences. The spiritual circuits that are used in prayer or worship are also involved in developing compassion for others. Our bodies have actually been created to love God and serve our neighbors.
Award-winning journalist Rob Moll chronicles the fascinating ways in which our brains and bodies interact with God and spiritual realities. He reports on neuroscience findings that show how our brains actually change and adapt when engaged in spiritual practices. We live longer, healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives when we cultivate the biological spiritual capacity that puts us in touch with God. God has created our bodies to fulfill the Great Commandment; we are hardwired to commune with God and to have compassion and community with other people. Moll explores the neuroscience of prayer, how liturgy helps us worship, why loving God causes us to love others, and how a life of love and service leads to the abundant life for which we were created.
Just as our physical bodies require exercise to stay healthy, so too can spiritual exercises and practices revitalize our awareness of God. Heighten your spiritual senses and discover how you have been designed for physical and spiritual flourishing.

Common sense tells us that we are beings made up of physical matter, that we have no special powers other than those granted by the laws of nature. However, one of the most important recent discoveries in science tell us we are capable of changing our physical world across dimensions of time and space simply by using our minds.
This is a program about accessing this incredible power by reaching within yourself. About accessing it in a way that mankind has used since the beginning of time. Accessing it in a way you may already be very familiar and comfortable with. Through prayer. The Power of Prayer is a personal journey exploring the link between science and spirituality. Recounted by a medical doctor, Larry Dossey M.D., he leads you through the same realizations that have profoundly changed his own life, and his understanding of the natural world, and what our role as humans is in it.
Through an examination of the scientific experiments, anecdotal third-person accounts, and stories about his own experiences in the practice of medicine, Dr. Dossey will bring you to new assumptions about yourself and the spiritual nature within you. You'll discover:

Finally, science finds evidence that prayer works
This is an amazing set of audio tapes. These tapes are perfect for those of us who no longer know what to believe about the religions we were raised with and the place of prayer in our daily lives. What is the purpose of prayer? Does prayer work over a distance? (yes) What is the right way to pray? (Your own way.) This is not a book about religion, but a book about how science has proven the effectiveness of prayer, regardless of our prayer style or religion. Many different experiments are cited, and Dr. Dossey makes the case that prayer deserves a place in the spectrum of the healing arts. The author's style is straighforward and very interesting.

The first effort of the Council was Sacrosanctum Concilium, the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, promulgated on December 4, 1963. This document was the result of the work of the Liturgical Movement - decades of liturgical scholarship, research, and renewal. The implementation of this document changed the course of the Church in history.

    What Vatican II Really Said
EVERYONE needs to read this. So many people have false notions of what Vatican II called for with regard to the Liturgy. Everyone needs to read this and understand what Vatican II really called for, thus putting to bed the false teachings of far too many. Read this and then have a conversation with your parish liturgist and pastor. The people deserve what Mother Church in her wisdom, inspired by the Holy Spirit, says is authentically good for her children. Too many people are being robbed by the implementation of false ideas and the personal preferences of liturgists and clergy. Read and hear directly from Mother Church.

If you caught a glimpse of heaven, would you choose to comeback to life?
Investigative journalist Judy Bachrach has collectedaccounts of those who died and then returned to life with lucid, vivid memoriesof what occurred while they were dead, and the conclusions are astonishing.Clinical death - the moment when the heart stops beating and brain stem activityceases - is not necessarily the end of consciousness, as a number of doctors arenow beginning to concede. Hundreds of thousands of fascinating post-deathexperiences have been documented, and for many who have died and returned, lifeis forever changed.
These days, an increasing number of scientific researchersare turning their studies to people who have experienced what the author callsdeath travels - putting stock and credence in the sights, encounters, andexciting experiences reported by those who return from the dead. Throughinterviews with scores of these "death travelers," and with physicians, nurses, and scientists unraveling the mysteries of the afterlife, Bachrach redefinesthe meaning of both life and death. Glimpsing Heaven reveals both the uncertainty and the surprising joys of life after death.

    Well written and good Narration
I'm fascinated by the NDE. This book is written by someone who was very skeptical about the whole idea, but went to work in a Hospice, which started her on this journey of trying to find answers.. Also, her mother had dementia, and I assume she needed to be assured that there was something better waiting for her mom.. My parents both suffer from different forms of dementia, so I would guess that attracted me to this particular book. It's well worth the listen (or read).. Lots of fascinating stories as well as theories from professionals, both pro and con.. I've listen and read a number of NDE books.. some were just a little too religious for my taste, while others just felt true.. This is one of those true ones..
Best "death experience" book I've read
Where does Glimpsing Heaven rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    In top 5.
What did you like best about this story?
The author having started out very skeptical and unenthused about her magazine assignment and ending up wanting to write the book.
Which character as performed by Susan Boyce was your favorite?
Excellent narration of all the characters.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
    More than one.
    Any additional comments?
I read most of this book a couple of times and ended up doing online research afterwards because it was so fascinating.
really liked the book good narration. wanted more
although I did like this book I really wanted to hear more from the individuals.
    wanted to hear more specifics
I would have enjoyed more specific details of interviewees experiences instead of the general overall picture of what a death experience is.
    Very Interesting Research
I purchased this book due to the recent death of my son, though I had read many near death books 20 or so years ago. This was well researched and revealed a great deal about the unknown masses who have had near death experiences.

Title: unSpirituality: Permission to Be Human
    Author: Christopher Loren
    Narrator: Jonathan Waters
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 33 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-06-14
    Publisher: unSpirituality.com
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
Unspirituality removes the delusion of the spiritual self and its story. Childhood suppression is at the seat of religious and spiritual delusion, which becomes the arena for the retrieval of a shamed imagination. Unspirituality strips away centuries of delusion.
The spiritual story was once an answer to the anxieties of the natural world, but now has become a colorful cage in which humans are trapped. It is an insidious trance that has perpetuated needless suffering for our species up to the modern day.
We have been led to look in the wrong direction. We have been bamboozled, beguiled, betrayed. We have been cheated for far too long. We have been led to believe our enemy lies "out there". We have been led to "believe". Our plight lies in the emotional investment of our identification with the image. I predict an awakening on this planet of epic proportions, where the realization of this conspiracy will spring to life. I see the long hardened road of religious and spiritual delusion coming to an abrupt end, like a domino effect, cascading across the globe.
Our species is angry on a deep level. We know something has been wrong for a long time. We are tired of being thrown the scraps. This is primal, guttural; the scream of an exhausted humanity who will not take no for an answer. Who refuse to be duped any longer. It is the voice of reason and the shout of change!
This audiobook is a reminder of who we are in the natural world and a call to stand up and be proud to be human without the spiritual story.

Good quick read for thought expansion
I bought this thinking it was or would be an intellectual stimulus for my own beliefs and challenge my perception of life. From the start it's quite well written even though very narrow in view point. He seems to lose interest in his own writings towards the final chapter's and kinda gives up after a very wonderfully charged attack on duality. I liked the book, even if i don't agree with all of it. Check it out but beware it's Different.......lol
What an amazing book! This is a welcome change to the ...
What an amazing book! This is a welcome change to the modern perspective on "spirituality" and the self-serving predators that lie in wait for their next victim. Chris takes a no-nonsense approach to the human experience, without the need to attribute anything to a fantasy figure that always seems to be watching. I wish this kind of writing had been around when I began my own seeking. Instead, I got wrapped up in dreaming of fantasy states of existences that were nothing more than endless rabbit holes.
unSpirituality deals with direct human experiences. There are far too many books, teachers, and new-age thinkers that are telling those that are looking for the answer to their suffering to shun the sensations of the body and the thinking mind. These physical, mental, and emotional hard times arise due to our evolutionary survival mechanism telling us that something is amiss. Instead of rushing into a feel-good story about some non-self state of non-existence, Chris invites us to look into the matter at hand. Directly.
You won't find any talk about needing to be saved, how to get into Heaven (or who isn't allowed), heart-wrenching stories about the Void/Absolute/No-Self, or mystical powers.

    Garbage
This is the most poorly written book I have ever heard ... In no way does it explain Dinosaurs or anything else
Let's hope no one else has to listen to this!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I have no issue with the quality of the reading, but the content is criminal.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    No.
    Any additional comments?
This book is designed to build a firewall between truth and the bible. It's about two hours of nonsense, claiming dinosaurs are a couple of thousand years old, and then four hours of literally reading all of the references and quoted sources.
    Good
Very nice, answers alot of questions. Listeners may want to know that the last audio chapters before the outro is the apendex.
    AWESOME BOOK!
This book should be distributed by every church. If this book were taught in schools, this world would be a very different place.

    Publisher's Summary:
A series of vignettes describing Amish people and customs
Pauline Stevick has visited more than 50 Amish homes in numerous Amish settlements across the country. She has attended weddings, viewings, school sessions and programs, family gatherings, and more than a dozen church services. She has ridden in Amish carriages and has even slept in Amish homes. Through her close association with the Amish, she has gained unique perspective and is able to provide keen insight into a culture that is misunderstood by many.
Beyond the Plain and Simple reminds listeners that although the Amish dress in almost identical clothing, they have distinct personalities and convictions. In vignettes and reflections she reveals the ways in which members of the Amish community live out their faith against the background of their communal culture, all the while emphasizing their individuality. Topics range from Amish family values to women to a retirement community in Florida to an Amish intellectual. Stevick's eloquent narration is descriptive rather than expository as she often draws comparisons between Amish society and mainstream society, sometimes preferring the Amish ways and at other times questioning them. Beyond the Plain and Simple portrays the Amish as dynamic people who experience struggles, failures, and successes not unique to their community.

    Great Friday night tub read
I savored every chapter in this book Friday nights in the bathtub. I felt refreshed by the read, as if I had taken a break from my frantic busy life, to bask a while in a simpler time and place. Pauline Stevick views Amish Life through friendships and associations made over the years with these unique, gentle people. Instead of observing them as odd, or strange, she helps us to see them as people like ourselves, with joys, sorrows, struggles - and, yes, questions. And she takes an honest look at the pros and cons of their way of life - neither romanticizing nor criticizing. I was especially impressed as I came to grasp the significance of the interconnectedness among those of the Amish community. I've been able to make more sense of my trips to our area "Amish Country" after reading this book.
    Five Stars
    Very Good Book.
Loved it! Super interesting reading-very well written.
Pauline Stevick's series of essays which appear in this book are based on her first hand experiences with the Amish people. Her visits with the members of this religious community are clearly written and quite engaging. Highly recommended for light reading and/or serious students of this culture.
    plain and simple
your book was good.I enjoyed reading it.It brings the people to life and was a quick read.Nadia Rehmani
    Fair description
Unlike most books that describe or outline the unique differences or practices of Amish vs English, Pauline Stevick shares how attitudes and background impact the actions of the Amish. And with this sharing, English like myself are better able to understand how the Amish are able to live in a lifestyle that is so countercultural to our current society.
