The reading appeared to be computer generated. I'ts a reasonably good technology, but completely inappropriate for this content.

Honest, Surprising, Insightful, Revelation

What did you like best about this story?

It kept me thinking through the whole book.

What about Greta Christinas performance did you like?

I'm glad she read her own audio book. I like hearing it in the author's own voice and inflection.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I know this sounds trite but the whole book moved me. I have been the black sheep of my family all of my life. At times I felt guilty for being godless. My mother used to say "you are an athiest" but meant it in a bad way. The book made me finally, at 49, feel comfortable with my thoughts and being godless.

Any additional comments?

I kept saying to myself..."that's what I think!"

Where does Why Are You Atheists So Angry? rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

While I find the subject of religion very interesting, I live in one of those Scandinavian countries Greta mentions in her book as being secular, where religion governs less and less of our daily life.

Therefore, much of the angriness Greta speaks about doesn't really apply to someone from Scandinavia. Most of the US-related issues, such as being prevented from certain positions, political engagements, career-paths etc., dont apply for me. Our laws and customs are changing, and religious views no longer play a part in law making. I can happily claim to be an atheist with no risk or retaliation. Religion is losing foothold every day.

In fact, I even refuse to call myself an atheist. I see absolutely no reason to label myself according to a concept I do not acknowledge. To me, it's makes as much sense as if I must label myself as a "hexagonal", because humanity suddenly introduces a concept where we all must be labeled according to the shapes of geometrical figures.

No one flinches or questions your moral upbringing if you claim to be an atheist in this country.

interesting ideas but could be presented better

Andrew Cohen argues that evolution is the expression of a fundamental universal drive in which the ground of being attempts to manifest all of the possibilities inherent in creation. As self-aware conscious beings we are the leading edge of this manifestation and have a part to play in the evolution of the universe.

This is an interesting insight but far from original with Andrew Cohen. These basic insights were first developed almost a century ago in the Process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead and the work of subsequent process theologians, such as John Cobb. The evolutionary aspect of his ideas are similar to those offered by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in the 40's and 50's.

Cohen seems to be trying to apply the insight from these earlier authors (even though he doesn't cite them--at least in the audio version of the book) to the practical level of how they impact one's behavior and choices, individually and as members of a community. He talks in generalities. While I can't argue against the points he is trying to make because I agree with them, he is so abstract in his discussion of his points that practical application of his points is unclear. Less talk about the "one not followed by two" and more concrete examples of what evolutionary awareness looks like in practice would be helpful.

There is a danger as well in the idea that culture is evolving. That same idea was popular in the 19th century as justification for slavery, colonialism and a dozen other forms of oppression, including the Holocaust.

Few, however, know or understand that fallen angels have brought us to this apocalypse, this apex of human history.

The end of the world as we know it is about to take place. A storm is gathering, so terrible as to cause men's hearts to fail them for fear; we must not approach this coming apocalypse unaware and unarmed.

Not the best, not the worst.

I've read a lot of books related to this particular subject. I would say this book falls somewhere in the middle. This was definitely a perspective from the point of Christianity using both the Bible and some of the apocryphal writings. He did site many of these writings, but it did seem that he filled in a lot of the gaps with his own assumptions; sometimes logical and sometimes not. It is a huge subject and the author gave a pretty broad overview starting from billions of years ago to now. I would say this is more of a quick introduction to the subject. I thought he did a great job on dealing with the age and history of the universe, specifically our own solar system. His perspective is not common in Christian circles (but makes the most sense if you can get past the literal 6 day thing in the first chapter of Genesis). However, I did find his explanation of "why" the fallen angels left their original habitation to manifest physically a bit weak. Although I don't think he was completely wrong, I believe that there was a more sinister and vindictive reason that goes back to the curse that God placed upon Lucifer after he deceived human kind.

This was not a bad listen. There are better books out there, but unfortunately they are not on audible.

The Real World

Excellent summation of many books I've read on fallen angels. The authors personal experience was disturbing. I've read of similar encounters but this one is most credible. What lurks in the shadows?

Doc nails down positionality

Clarified how judgementalism creates positionality and how positionality sets up duality. Gave more everyday examples that I could relate to. Also understand better the value of holding oneself as context. Overall, it was ACIM in Doc's terminology. Have listened to and/or viewed about 40 of his lectures and read all the books, and each is invaluable, but this one nailed down positionality and context.

Such an Enlightened Teacher!

Couldn't put it down from start to finish. Anyone seeking another way to truth from conventional pedagogy should find this book instructive. Just one thing is required: an open and humble mind.

This book is a source of inspiration.

This book is source of inspiration in the most challenging time in my life where I have so many questions about things happening around us and most of all in my personal life loosing a love one which no one see coming or expected and this book help me to understand some my question and inner thoughts I have for God on the subject .This is a divine intervention for me achieving inspiration and healing for my broken heart and enhance my relationship with God.
