Whispers, rumors, and horror stories abound about The Barrens and the strange creatures that lurk within them. Determined to find the remaining vampires that stood against his father in the war, Braith knows that its dangerous to enter the inhospitable land, but that they must if they are to have a chance at gaining allies to help overthrow the king.
Though he once knew the powerful vampires that are rumored to reside within The Barrens, he is unsure what to expect if they succeed in finding them. He will do whatever is necessary, though, to ensure a future for himself and Aria. Aria is fearful of entering into the land shes heard nothing but cautionary tales about, but shes determined to help Braith locate the vampires that may help them with their cause. She is fascinated and amazed by the world they uncover within, one that is unlike anything she has ever seen before.
However, the more immersed they become in a world that she doesnt entirely understand, the more she realizes that it wont be the war, or even the king that will eventually tear her and Braith apart. It will be her.

Ahhhh, I want book 4 on Audible!!!!! :(
Would you consider the audio edition of Refugee to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version but apparently I will have to with book 4.
What does Luci Christian bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She does a great job with the different accents and helps to mark the female characters from the male. Her voice increases the characters personality and the readers experience.
Book 2
Aria & Braith's story is full of love and caring but also heartache and pain. Unending adventure and struggle to be free people and a united people. Good character, storyline, and plot development. The narrator did a nice job.
Refugee
Would you listen to Refugee again? Why?
I would absolutely listen to Refugee again as well as the other audiobooks in the series. I loved them. The story, the characters, the voice, everything was perfect for me.
What other book might you compare Refugee to and why?
There is no other book I can compare Refugee to because this series is absolutely no other series out there like this one. I have never read or listened to another audiobook like this series and that's what makes it so enjoyable.
Which scene was your favorite?
I have a lot of favorite scenes within this series. I enjoyed the scene when Braith was fighting and Ari was in the house and he burst in the door ready to tear into Ashby. I enjoyed the scenes between Ari & her brother William, and the walk Ari and Braith took in the woods.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The great thing about audiobooks are that they can be listened to while you do housework and while you're on the go. I wasn't sitting but I listened to it all the way through and I'm ready for the next book in the series.
WOW! I LOVE IT!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Braith and Aria, but I am getting a kick out of Ashby.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
