Title: Knight of Darkness

Author: Linda Mooney

Narrator: L.J. Hofer

Format: Unabridged

Length: 5 hrs and 27 mins

Language: English

Release date: 07-12-17

Publisher: Linda G. Mooney

Genres: Romance, Science Fiction

Publisher's Summary:

Sorrow Knight knew that at any time the U'Nar would attack Earth, but he needed a few more days to come out of chrystasis before he could fight the deadly enemy. With his soul sword, Rall, he and the handful of other Surge Knights would gather wherever the enemy landed and drive them off this world. A world with so many wonderful sights and surprises. A world that contained a woman named Rachel, who had captured his heart and his imagination but who was forbidden to him by his laws.

Rachel Grohl often wondered about the skinny, dishwater-blond young man living in the apartment across the breezeway from her. His shyness, as well as his clean but well-worn clothes, tugged at her heart. They'd barely spoken a dozen words to each other since he moved in a few weeks ago, but she had to thank him for helping her the other day. Maybe asking him over to dinner would work.

They shared one dinner, one touch, and one kiss that led to one night of love. A love that could ultimately avert the total eradication of the human race.

One of Linda's best of her recent novels

One of Linda's best of her recent novels. The only thing I would add is I thought the aliens would have the technology to fix the hand.

I loved this story and hope there are more with these characters and this concept. The dark aliens were truly unique, scary, and creepy. Her ending is satisfying, although predictable, but getting to that point was a can't-put-the-book-down kind of read.

Recommended!

Unique and another twist to alien romance story. The author seems to be good at finding different twist on each book that she writes. I like almost all of her books, if not all.

Great Sci-Fi Romance!

As a voracious reader, it is not often that I come across something that hasn't been done, but I was pleasantly surprised here. Ms. Mooney takes the standard story of love and adventure, and displays it in a new and wonderful environment.

Good book

Third book in series. I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can't wait for more books from this author.

"This is a Unique and Exciting Alien Romance"

The storyline is exciting right from the beginning. The characters are awesome and unique.

Palzu promises the people freedom only Voland did not not know at what cost plus it was a lie!. So Voland sneaks off the army base. Felicity has run away from an abusive family. She does not have much money so she decides to try her hand at prostitution lol. When she meets Voland misunderstandings her when she asks if he wants a good time lol. As Voland has no money!.

You will so love this funny, exciting, sweet, steamy hot unique Alien romance!. It is a five star plus book!!.

the sexy scenes, I found those to be entertaining

Voland is the third book in the Warriors of Orba series. It is a short story with somewhat of a cliffhanger, even though I do not recommend reading as a standalone, I can say that you need to read the first one first, than it does not matter if you read the second or third in order. This series has a different take on an alien and human relationships, and the sexy scenes, I found those to be entertaining . I did have some trouble with the relationship, I felt the heroine was a little too forgiving and easy in their relationship. I got the impression she can be strong and well, weak at the same time. I do like that she didnât give up too easy on Volandâs strangeness and fought for what she was thinking is hers. Voland is a different kind of male; he is not alpha but not soft all around. I guess you would have to read the book to understand what it is Iâm saying.

I know I'm never going to change. I was born in the darkness, and that's exactly where I'll remain.

And slip that black diamond onto her finger.

Black Diamond

What did you like best about this story?

This book is amazing. Ms. Quinn has the ability to make you feel the passion and pain of the characters. You live and die with them.

What does Michael Ferraiuolo and Lia Langola bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Perfect narrators M Ferraiuolo and Lia langola delivering their lines.

Another cliffy

The cliffhanger isn't bad but I can't wait for the next book. This series is sexy and interesting, exciting and fun.

Michael really stepped it up for this one. His voice was gruffer when it needed to be and softer when the timing was right for that. Lia Langola was perfect.

One of the best series I have listened to.

Calloway and Rome are back but this time trouble takes a hold of them. Their relationship is shaken by skeletons they both are hiding. This is one intense story. I know I screamed No very loudly a few times as the story unfolded. It can take your breath away and make you so angry you want to kick something. Victoria Quinn really can capture your heart and emotions as you struggle right along with the couple.

The narration was impeccable. Lia Langola truly captures Rome and all of her emotions. She helps the reader ride the emotional roller coaster Rome is on right along with Rome. Her voice is exactly how I imagined Rome to sound. Michael Ferraiuolo is the perfect Calloway. His voice melts your heart as Calloway struggles with his skeletons. How either one of these narrators read this book calmly and unshaken is amazing. There is so much emotion in this book, I know I would not be able to keep a steady voice.

I want and need more!!!!

**I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.**

When I first got this book I didn't realize it was # 2 in a series and I hadn't listened to the 1st book. It didn't matter, I wasn't lost, I was intrigued! I loved it! it was HOT!!!! but more than just ear candy, great story, great character development. I want more detail and plan on picking up all the books in the series.

Get this book!

quarter of it is for the drama and the rest... s3x

nothing much on chapters 1-10, s3x of course is essential in the story coz of the SBDM thing but too much is making it slow and you skip some chpters coz well nothings happening but s3x, just until later chapters where the story gets drama, conversations, conflicts... yes it's a series but still the ending was too short...

clarity and emotion on narrators part is superb for me.

USA Today and New York Times best-selling author Maya Banks continues her suspenseful and sizzling Slow Burn series with the fifth book featuring the men and women of Devereaux Security Services.

Raised in a strict religious cult since she was a young girl, Jenna has no connection to the outside world beyond vague flashes of memory that seem to be from another life. Memories she clings to when the cult leaders discover her extraordinary ability to heal - and punish her. As he tries to bring Jenna to safety, she refuses to tell him what danger haunts her or how she healed him, but Isaac vows to do whatever it takes to gain her trust...and her heart. Because with just one touch, Isaac knows he wants Jenna to be his - forever.

Members Reviews:

Disappointing

I usually enjoy Maya Banks stories very much, but this audiobook was not my cup of tea. The story had a lot of potential, but the hero seemed to mostly rant about how he would never let anything happen to the heroine, while everything DID happen to the heroine. I found the storyline a bit disjointed and the phrasing somewhat repetitive throughout the book. The narrator did an okay job of what he had to work with, but it just didn't save the audiobook. Incidentally, I enjoyed the first four audiobooks in this series very much!

Really bad

The narrator sounded like the guy in Dragnet and the story line was really bad. First time I've not finished a book because it was the same thing over and over with slightly different words.

Just One Touch

I didn't enjoy this book as much as previous ones in this series. It's not that the story was bad, but rather how repetitive the prose was. The hero proclaimed his undying love over & over & over again, promising to keep the heroine safe time after time, using the same vows each time. It got annoying, to tell the truth. I was happy when the book ended.

And the narrator was a bit bland; monotone even. I won't be buying anymore in this series or by this narrator. I almost fell asleep listening, lol!

Disappointing...

After having read the other books in this series, perhaps my expectations were too high. The male protagonist appeared too needed with his constantly spouts of 'I love you' and 'I want to protect you' throughout the majority of the story. It was as if the author didn't have enough of a story so she decided to add these to flesh it out. A pity because the story, and the narrator, was just what kept my interest going.

not the best Maya Banks

The story was good but it seems that the characters went on and on with long dialogue lines through the whole book. I wanted to say stop and take a breath for goodness sake.

Title: Keeping Faith

Subtitle: GenTech Rebellion, Book 5

Language: English

Release date: 05-17-17

Publisher: Ann Gimpel Books, LLC

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 2 votes

Genres: Romance, Science Fiction

Publisher's Summary:

Faith is happy for her sisters, but it's lonely on her own. A man piqued her interest, but she ran the probabilities, and the odds of him ever being interested in her are thin. Tough and forbidding, Reginald was a field surgeon in the Middle East. He eats and breathes medicine. Besides, he's married to the CIA. No wives in his past. Faith hacked into the personnel database to check.

Reginald Thomas agreed to run the CIA's infirmary after a bullet nailed him in Afghanistan. He's one of a handful of scientists who produced the original batches of genetically modified humans, and he's lain low since their rebellion. The catastrophe rankles, but he hasn't given up finding a fix for their genome problems.

A permanent bachelor for a host of feeble reasons, he's substituted immersion in medicine and science for a personal life. Easier that way. And a whole lot cleaner. The status quo might be sterile, but at least it's trouble free. When Faith catches his eye, he fights his attraction to her, but it's a losing battle. Loving her fulfills him, and he can't walk away. What will happen if she discovers he helped create those like her? In a radical departure from his normal forthright manner, he buries that fact deep. If she never finds out, it can't ever come back to bite him.

Members Reviews:

The end of a great series

What a great finale! I don't want to give the surprise away so I will be vague. This final installment follows Faith and her chance at love with Reg, the CIA doctor. However, Reg is more than he seems and has a large role to play in the conflict with the Freaks. Loved this series! I am sad to see it end.

Or that the power coming from their union would be the only force strong enough to save Bellac from complete annihilation. Because the law won't even let them touch.

Members Reviews:

The focus is on a perfect paring

I read another book by LInda Mooney and enjoyed it so I thought I'd try another. This is an awesome read. The characters were very real and the love story is powerful.

Grey Dansis is a cadet at the Academy for children born with the gene to become a Synergian, upon graduation the new cadets are expected to look for their pefect mate among the other cadets. They can determine who their mate is from touching, kissing or having sex. Of course with new graduates who have not been able to interact with each other for years, sex is the chosen method of determining who their mate is. Grey has a good idea who her mate is but the difficulty is he is an unmatched Synergian who has passed the five year mark without find a mate and is considered past the time to be able to find a mate. There are laws against their becoming a mated pair and they have to fight to gain the right to their love. Along with that, Bellac is being attacked be an enemy who they are not able to defeat.

Grey and Rowe are up against insurmountable odds, they could die before they can win the right to be mated.

Write another book or even a series about the Synergians.

This a terrific book that I reread on a regular basis. I've always felt that Rowe' s best friend deserved a book of his own with maybe a second chance at Synergistic love. This book, though, is my absolute hands down favorite. The characters, story, everything comes together perfectly. If you haven't read any of Linda Mooney' s books before, definitely read this ! You won't regret it.

Incredible science fiction & romance story in one book

I found this to be one of my favorite of Linda Mooney's books.
