    Understanding the stars
What did you love best about Understanding the Stars?
The character was written well, This audiobook had a lot of action and so many twists and turns that it kept me interested and wanting to find out what was going to happen next.
    It's ok.
I have to say that this had the potential to be very good, but I felt it lacked debt and character development. I felt like the pacing was fast but the overall story was way too fast and had no flesh on it. I didn't connect with the characters, nor the story. I felt like Alex was too perfect and absolutely hated that she took everything that was happening and didn't question it or didn't freak out! I mean if I found out that I was being monitored 24/7 by an alien race I think i would have freaked!! It was unrealistic and after that I just couldn't connect with her.
Lori Prince was OK. She had a good voice for Alex but she didn't really differentiate any of the other characters. Plus her voice for the evil aliens was a little hard to listen to. I still enjoyed listening to her and know she will become better with practice.
I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
    Good sci-fi alien adventure tale
    Any additional comments?
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Xela Culletto. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
Understanding the Stars is a sci-fi YA adventure, where our main character is literally on the run from aliens. Due to circumstances beyond her control and because an alien species selected her as one of their test subjects, another alien species wants to snatch her and cut some tech out of her head. Fun times. Not.
Alex is a spunky teen who's about to graduate high school when her life gets super scary super fast. Her life isn't all happy sunshine and rainbows with a father dying of the big C and her in danger of having her head cut open. But she doesn't hide from her troubles and looks danger right in the face (er, tentacles?) and stands up for herself and others around her. That's what makes Alex a character you can really get behind and root for.
The plot is fast-paced and there is even a bit of a romance, though not super developed in light of all the running from aliens. I kind of liked our male character, but the focus was definitely on Alex so I can't say I got to know Ronan that well.
The audio narration was excellent. I really appreciated all the creepy sounding voices for the aliens, which really upped their scary and grossness factor. I liked the intonations and how Alex really did sound like a teenage girl with the sentences that sound like a question and abrupt replies.

Is marriage an antiquated relic in the zombie apocalypse?
Michelle Greggs had the perfect life; a loving husband, a nice home in San Francisco, and a belief in safety and security. That all ended the day the zombies rose. Against her wishes, her husband Mitch goes to one last day at his job as a police officer in the chaos of the Z virus epidemic. When he returns home as the undead, she is forced to kill her one and only love. With no safety and security to be had in SF, she is evacuated to the middle of nowhere in Central California. There, she clings to the remnants of safety behind cement walls, allowing others to venture outside to do the necessary killing of the undead.
Teddy Ridgewood proclaims himself the King of Pittsburg, population one. To the survivors he joins, he projects an image of a fun-loving guy, thinking the zombie apocalypse is a never-ending video game. Inside, he dies a little with each undead kill, still seeing the people they were.
Michelle yearns to embrace Teddy's live-for-today attitude as much as she yearns to embrace the man himself, but both things scare her more than the undead moaning outside the walls of the compound.
Can Teddy help Michelle to let go of her fears, to enable her to find the strength he believes she has deep inside?

    Zombies
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Zombie Hunter's Wife?
Good story, very good character development, easy to identify with the principals, and they are likeable. Just a good read. The redemptive power of love is a strong theme in this book, as it was in the first book.
    Book 2
    Any additional comments?
This is the follow up to Love in The Time of zombies. Fast paced, grabs you from the first to the last page. Good story telling, very good character development such that it is easy to identify with the principals, and they are believable as well as likeable. Just a good story.

Daisy Kirkwood has only just escaped her small-town life and run away to New York City, the land of last-minute secret gigs at famous musical venues, when she's kidnapped by aliens. Unfortunately, no one ever writes about how to handle alien abduction in those fancy NYC guidebooks.
Griffin and Dev are supermassively sexy aliens from a politically and environmentally troubled planet who arrive on Earth with very little knowledge about human ways other than what they learned from a wayward "E! News" signal. Their mission is to pretend to be the most influential people on the planet - English pop stars, of course! - and gain the help of a powerful secret society. Upon arriving, they abduct Daisy Kirkwood, a nerdy young woman who loves music but could seriously use a bit of help in the love-life department. Though Griffin and Daisy initially squabble, neither can deny the intergalactic sparks whenever they're too close to each other.
Together, they must face murderous aliens, cultural misunderstandings, bad backup musicians, and the dark side of fame and the media, all set against a tight deadline.
Part High Fidelity, part Bridget Jones' Diary, part Doctor Who, Dating an Alien Pop Star is a sexy romantic comedy.

Number-one best-selling science-fiction erotica author Emily Tilton brings you her naughtiest vision of the future yet.
When 18-year-old Mary Haven goes to meet the woman who will be her senior sister-wife in the household of the elder of the traditionally-minded Assembly of the Concord, she feels sure she has received a great honor in being taken as the elder's fourth eon-wife. But Mrs. Jones quickly makes it clear that Mary's fate has darker things in store: after paddling the girl soundly for disobedience, the matron intends to send her to the Hall of Pleasure, to be enjoyed by the frightening Concordist overseer and his henchmen.
Mark Abbott and his own wives, Heather and Greta, hear of the plan and resolve to rescue Mary, bringing her into the Abbott household as second eon-wife instead. But though Mark, Heather, and Greta succeed in saving Mary from the Hall of Pleasure, she must undergo a thorough inspection and examination by the elder and the overseer even before the ordeal of her eon-marriage to Mark.
When the government of Fidelia colony decides to put a stop to the strange practices of the Concordists, though, can the Abbotts, with Mary under their protection, save their community from the overseer's attempt to bring them all under his oppressive sexual rule?

WHAT ELSE COULD THE PATH TO CONCORDIA MEAN, THAN A FAMILY IN SUCH CONCORD AND HARMONY?
I will admit this is a uniquely written sci-fi futuristic story that will take the reader on a journey into the erotic realm of a new world. One where a select few have decided to create a new and secretive society that allows individual people to declare epiphanies and visions from the Teller. The Triple Senate has an elder, Phineas Jones, the overseer, John Stone and the Prester, Mark Abbott. The Book of Concord was created by Phineas Jones and John Stone and proclaimed to the followers as the Tellers for the eternal kingdom and their eternal thrones. They accept the mysteries of dominance and submission and epiphanies and teach the men that they are to use their wives and then take eon-wives and use them, all for their own pleasure. The people of Concord have banished some of the modern ways, technology, clothing, and have a set standard for the clothing, even undergarments of their followers. They keep them sequestered from the world, so they will not tell others about their lifestyle.
As I was reading this story, my mind was seeing the people that follow cult leaders and start believing whatever they say as the truth. Even Mark Abbott and his senior wife see how obviously fictional it all was, but have even learned to manipulate the system using their own Book of Concord.
The plot of the story shows how easily people can accept the âepiphaniesâ and follow them, and the more the men of the Triple Senate want, then just call it a vision or epiphany from the Teller, using a hypnotic chant, and it becomes the truth and the people willing believe it. The women are submissive, accepting the teachings, knowing husbands will punish for correction and how three ways of using their wives for their pleasure. The women are allowed pleasure if it is granted, but it all revolves around the husbands and their baser desires. Then add multiple wives, because they accept a polyamorous lifestyle.

Bock Gammon is a freedom runner. A man with a space ship for hire. He has heard of Replacements and knows they exist, but he has never personally come across one. In fact, he finds the whole idea repugnant - growing a living being specifically for the purpose of harvesting his body parts. So do the governments in many of the galaxies who have declared Replacements illegal. Which is why he is stunned to discover his latest assignment is to bring a Replacement to one of the wealthiest men in the Chatta Dul system. If he hadn't so desperately needed the money, he wouldn't have accepted the job. It doesn't take long for Bock to realize that Rhea 41070 isn't just one-of-a-kind, she's also unlike any woman he has ever met. And the closer they get to the point of delivery, the more he knows he can't walk away and leave her behind to be dissected. Somehow, he has to find a way to save her, despite the odds and hundreds of well-armed men awaiting their return.

    A breathstealing ending . . . . can't be missed
Honestly, for me, Linda Mooney used to be a hit or miss author. She's written some of my favorite books as well as ones I just couldn't bring myself to finish. With this book she has officially tipped to scales to a favorite author whose website I stalk to find out about new releases.
Bock is the captain of his own ship and merry band of men (one man and one woman to be precise). He's a smuggler with a heart of gold (I kept picturing Mal from Firefly) and is offered a large sum of money to pick up and deliver cargo to a dying aristocrat. When he realizes the cargo he's being asked to transport is a Replacement he and his crew are appalled. They never would have accepted the job had they known but now that they've committed themselves to this course, can they save the Replacement without risking their own lives? As Bock beings to fall in love with Rhea the risk of losing her becomes greater than the risk to himself.
Rhea is a Replacement, a genetically created human designed to be used as "spare parts" for the injured or dying individual they were cloned from with no concern for their one well-being. Unaware that the creation of her kind was outlawed for moral reasons, she is at first unconcerned with her potential fate. Having been brainwashed since "birth" she believes this is her sole purpose and a worthy one at that. As she beings to fall in love with Bock she realize she wants more than to simply be a walking transplant farm.
It's a relatively common Sci-Fi plot line that I must have seen a half dozen times in the past, but Linda Mooney manages to make it emotionally engaging. I managed to figure out the ploy by which they would save Rhea from the first hint in the beginning of the book but the ending of this story literally stole my breath. I'm not kidding, I think I held my breath for the entire last three chapters. I've never read an ending that had me teary-eyed and on the edge of my seat like that. I couldn't read the words fast enough, and then when I finished I went back and reread the chapters because I was sure I'd skipped over words in my haste to finish.
Linda Mooney manages to write in two romance genres that are really hard to find good examples of , Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

    Fabulous
Great story line and excellent reader. Wonderful characters. My first time for this author. Will be searching out more by her. Loved it!!!
Down a long and twisted road. Many lives are just like that, until we get to the straight and narrow.
This is my first experience with author, Patricia Bradley. I really loved the plot and its direction. The characters were so alive and real. I can't wait to check out her other published books and more in this series.
Elise Arsenault was good but at first she sounded like she had a head cold and stuffy. Not the male characters just the female.
    Bad narrator
This book would have been much better if the valley girl had not been reading it. There is a t in Martin
    Good mystery, good narrator...
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Tiny bit gruesome to me, just in the details, not that it's gory.
    Any additional comments?
Enjoyed the mystery, which was not easy to figure out. Didn't enjoy the needless killing, but that's the way these mystery stories are sometimes :(
    First ever review
What would have made Shadows of the Past better?
    Not to have been written
What didnt you like about Elise Arsenaults performance?
    Sad Southern accents
    Any additional comments?
This has To tbe the worst book I have ever read or listened to. Full of cliches, really bad dialogue and poor story line.

Sirens were blaring. They hurt his ears, but he pushed on. The floor in the corridor was shiny and black, reflecting the white light from the pods stacked next to the walls on either side. He glanced from left to right as he ran, searching the screens next to the pods frantically. The markings flashing on them were in the language of his captors, but he'd spent enough time among them to know what they meant. He'd learned early on that if your masters think you're an idiot, they let the reins slip. He was anything but an idiot. After a while, they speak openly in front of you, like you're nothing but a piece of furniture. One slip leads to another, and pretty soon you know everything about their deviant empire.
He didn't have a name, had never been given one. Mostly he was referred to as "you" or "slave", sometimes no coherent word at all but just a grunting sound. His masters were fat and lazy. Well, now their laziness had come to bite them on their fat asses.

    This book simply works beautifully
DN Leo's Multiverse really is an ideal place to place an abundance of stories, and she has taken full advantage of this. Luckily she's somehow managed to do so in a way that's consistently well-written and very very enjoyable. That's once again the case with this new Multiverse series, of which Wolfsbane is the second novel. A great mashup of sci fi, adventure, mystery and romance, this book simply works beautifully. DN Leo really has a great set of leading characters in Dinah and Arik and it was a real pleasure seeing how they played off of each other and interacted in the broader Multiverse that she has created. For those who have been reading other books set in the Multiverse it's also lots of fun seeing favorite characters cross over into this series (for me, as with many, Ciaran & Madeline are particular favorites so it's great having them here).
Highly recommended. One note though: while this book and series can indeed stand alone wonderfully, reading other Multiverse books will definitely increase your enjoyment of this series by adding wonderful background / depth to the Multiverse and key characters. I read DN Leo's Shade of Mind series and her Mindscape 1, 2 &3 books before starting this series, and I'd definitely recommend that route.
Really enjoyed looking forward to next book
Dinah and Arik are back, working more as a team now to save Earths population from our evil characters after Ciran and Arik had been challenged to a âhologameâ. It does not really seem to play out as an actual game, but they are encountering trouble everywhere they go as they do what they think they must do. With the help of technology, smarts and some magic they are hoping to win the game.
Leo has a lot of characters, good, bad and not sure yet and she does a good job of keeping them real and is able to flow well back and forth as we follow multiple story line threads. It continues to be a fast pace story and she keeps you continually engaged to try and figure out what is going on. There are lots of twists and turns so it is hard to make any guesses as to what it is going to happen next. Another one you just do not want to put down and I cannot wait to read the next book. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.
Dang it I want to read the next one now
I'm so hooked on this series. The story of Arik and Dinah continues with Cirian and Madeline and time travel. This one had some more surprises and I wasn't expecting the ending at all.

UGH I HATE CLIFFHANGERS !!! REALLY GOOD STORY
    Any additional comments?
This was a very different romance story. It's not the typical story. It really sucked me in from the word go. The narration was great and the storyline was compelling. It's worth the credit but since there is a cliffhanger I wish I had waited for the complete series to be released.
    Princess of perpetual peril...
Crown of Lies is my fourth Pepper Winters book. I'm a fan of her writing, but I have had issues with the narration of some of those books. Happily, this time I am a fan. This is dual narration at its best. Kylie Stewart handles the female dialog competently, while Eric Rolon is exceptional at voicing all male characters. Bravo to Eric...this is the first book he's narrated for audible and he was fantastic! His voice was just right for our hero - he really made the listen sexy.
The story itself kept me interested. Enter Elle - a girl groomed to run a department store empire from a young age. She leads a sheltered life of wealth and privilege, and then one night she rebels against her golden shackles. This leads her to a mugging and attempted rape in a dirty back alley somewhere in NYC. Our heroine is rescued by a young homeless man. Fate removes the anonymous good Samaritan, and Elle's exhaustive attempts to find him fail.
Three years after that night, Ms. Winters keeps the intrigue going. There's a father with a heart condition, a persistent unwanted suitor, and a wealthy and mysterious man who seems to know an awful lot about our heroine.
I like Pepper's erotica. She expertly builds sexual tension in her stories, and then releases it in the steamiest ways. Talk about sex on fire! Fair warning however: this story comes to a close with one hell of a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that upset.
Time for the gripe, and I've alluded to it in my headline. Poor, poor Elle. She must be one hell of an irresistible beauty because by the end of this book, she will have been threatened with rape on three separate occasions. Seriously, is she putting off some type of crazy pheromone that brings all the rapists out of the woodwork!?
All things considered, Crown of Lies kept me listening - great writing and narration.

    Very satisfying sci-fi romance!
I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.
I've been antsy without new books from my favorite SFR author, Linnea Sinclair. I stumbled on this book, and my worries are over. Fools Rush In was the first I've read by this author, but the book stands alone nicely, even without having read the rest of the series. The world-building was solid, again, even without the first two books, but not too heavy-handed.
Rayna and Sam were strong characters with a passionate determination to do what each thinks is right. Their romance was very much a part of the story, balanced smoothly with a fast-paced sci-fi adventure. The plot moves quickly, but with an expert handling of plot threads and story elements.
The audio added a lot to the story. The narrator was very natural, and her voice, from the first moment, really defined Rayna for me.
I will be purchasing the first two books in the series, and I hope you enjoy Fools Rush In as much as I did.
    Fast-paced and exciting!
Excellent story! Lots of action, humor, and romance. Excellent narrator as well, she really brings the characters to life. I was freely gifted a copy of this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review.
    Entertaining
This was an enjoyable listen with excellent narration. The story had plenty of action and some well written sex scenes.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Loved this book, the third in Donna Frelick's Interstellar Rescue Series. The characters are very appealing, the chemistry between them strong, and the story is action packed from beginning to end. A must read, or a must listen, since it is an audio book.
The narrator really captured the essence of each character. She brought the story to life, varying the intonation of her voice to match the emotion of the moment. I look forward to hearing her again.
    Best performance
If you could sum up Fools Rush In in three words, what would they be?
    Action packed romance!
    Any additional comments?
This was probably the best audiobook performance I've listened to. So many characters and the narrator was spot on with all of them. It has made me go back and listen to the first two books in this series as this book is a "prequel" to them. I want to make sure I didn't miss any details!
