I love Paisley and these characters

This is the fourth book in Dawn's Hers Series and it just keeps getting better. This is Paisley's story and let me tell you it's heart breaking but happy. The things she went through living in Florida before she ran away to Seven and Levi's and then back home to Woodstock with her sister Star was pure hell.

Dawn blew me away when I discovered the truth about what happened to Paisley. Yes I knew from the previous book a edited version of what she went through but this book blew me away with the knowledge and information gained from the discovery.

I went into this book not reading the back just knowing I had to read it to know how the characters were doing and what was going on in their lives. I actually had my preconceived notions about it from reading Kink the Halls imagine my surprise to discover things aren't what I thought.

Diesel is down right sexy as hell and another member of Hell's Renegades MC. We met him in Finding Willow but he doesn't do anything to particularly make him stand out but that changes in this book. He's got a very sensitive side that doesn't fit in with his biker image and I find the way he's so protective and caring of Paisley endearing.

Paisley doesn't have it easy in this book she's torn and has a decision to make. Things aren't all black and white though. There's circumstances and details she needs to think about. Such as what's gonna happen if and when her past catches up with her.

Seven pisses me off in this book. She's running and I just want to knock her upside the head but it won't do anything because that woman is so dang hard headed.

Great escape

If you could sum up The Cop in three words, what would they be?

Great escape, funny

What did you like best about this story?

I loved listening to Simone's latest dating adventure (or should I say, misadventure, LOL). This book is about a sexy cop who becomes a little too possessive for Simone's liking, but the way it's written is so dang funny. Very realistic in some ways, but also so funny in how the whole thing gets resolved. There were scenes in this book that had me in stitches. One of the funniest books in this series. I've recommended it to all my friends. It's now our book-club selection for next month.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Really fun book to listen to with lots of humor. A great escape from life's worries.

I loved all the books in this series, but this one was my favorite. It was outlandish in places, funny, well-written, and just plain good entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook.

Hilarious!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was one of the funniest books I've listened to in a long time. The main character, Simone, is a riot! She's trying to find a great guy to take to her best friend's wedding, but she keeps meeting these duds (as we all do when we're dating). This book about the cop took the cake. Sooo funny. The scene at the restaurant had me laughing out loud so much that I had to replay it. Very funny installment of a very enjoyable and humorous book. Highly recommended.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cop?

The scene in the restaurant with the elderly women. Hilarious!

What about Elizabeth Powerss performance did you like?

She really brought out the humor in the book. Plus she narrates steamy scenes well. As Simone would say, "Ooo-la-la!" ;)

Awesome Short Story

This short story had it all. Vampires, sex, mystery, betrayal and bad vampires. Ms Amy, a vampire, owns a bar in a tiny town in the desert. She's very careful to not expose herself. Hard to do in a town of 50. She gets by just sampling most of the men. She does have a special man. An evil vampire stalker shows up from her past. Read the story yourself to find out what happens in the climatic conclusion.

An enjoyable read

It was quite an unexpected turn of events leading to the climax of this book. A quick and enjoyable read.

Virginia Nelson brings on the heat

I loved this book. I wish I could stop there because it really speaks to how I felt reading this story. Ms. Nelson has real knack for writing characters that stay with you long after you've put the book down. I highly recommend this book.

Absolutely Amazing

I LOVED this novel. The world was interweaved so mesmerizingly. If there was one thing i would change i would want more books written in this world that interlaced with the background of prior visits of the princess. Maybe not her story but another's. The romance is very well written. I personally would be over the moon if there were a trilogy of some kind waiting to find its merry way into our waiting hands. :-) Virginia you never disappoint with your spectacular imagination.

Kayden needs you to read all about his love for Emily

Almost a home run except. Let me tell you all I did not like about this book. 1) The profanity was continuous. 2) This book had homosexual references which made me very uncomfortable. 3) The intense fighting scene was weak, I expected Kayden to have way more of a save his girl role. Other than that I thought Kayden was super attractive and he loved Emily pug and all. Super hot also.

Good Reading

Enjoyed these two erotic short stories!

What did you love best about Sizzling Shorts?

I liked both of the stories in the collection. The first featured a married couple where the wife wants to spice up their love life. I appreciated that she took a gentle approach to introducing new things in their marriage and gave her husband time to get used to the new ideas - and he clearly enjoyed the changes! It was nice to see an erotic story featuring a married couple. In the second story, two people who've worked together for a while are finally going for it and giving into their attraction to each other. The love scene between them was great, and there was a real sense that this wasn't just a one night stand but had the potential to turn into a long term relationship. So both stories were enjoyable to me.

What does Ian Murray bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

The narrator did a good job of conveying the different voices in the story. The male and female points of view were clear and easy to tell apart. The pacing was very good and the erotic scenes were well done. This was my first audiobook by this narrator and I would definitely look for more of his work.

Another trip back to space

Have you listened to any of Melissa Husos other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the 4th book in Stardust series that Ms. Huso has read. After listening to them all, I can't pick one over another. I love the consistency that Ms. Huso has with both the characters, emotion and pacing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At just a little over 2 hours, this book is easily listened to in one sitting. As there are 3 stories/parts it can also be broken up into smaller time frames.

Any additional comments?

When I first started this series, I wasn't sure what 'space erotica' was. Have no fear, there aren't any aliens in these books. What these books do have is passion, strong characters and a story line that keeps you coming back for more.

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy a good romance story. I hear the author is working on another book in this series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Went weird at the end

I had some issues with the last quarter of the book; for one, there are some definite whacky politics going on with the circumstances involved in the apocalypse. Not to get into spoilers, but there're more mentions of the "evil UN" and how anarchy is completely preferable to any sort of organization (even democracy? really?) and how wonderful "being a 50s housewife" and "having lots of babies" are. I was a bit tenuous to begin with because the "heroine" of this one was portrayed as a sex addict in the first book -- not because that's in and of itself /bad/, but because it's very difficult to portray that sort of issue with sensitivity. Unfortunately, this is held up; the main character frequently refers to herself as "whore" because of her behavior.

SPOILER SPACE:

The fact that she has a sexual encounter with someone who isn't the "hero", seemingly enjoys it a great deal, and then feels guilty when he confronts her about it and lays down an ultimatum -- well. They'd never once had a conversation about being monogamous or committed to one another.

By the time they got to the "free town" of Letliv at the end, where there's no rule of law except shunning and how "an armed society is a polite society", my "uh oh, conservative whackadoos ahoy" alarms were ringing full force. The fact that the "UN World Government" is supposed to be the bad guy and invading? The way that literally any sort of government is painted as either totally evil or totally incompetent? The way women are happiest when they're barefoot and pregnant and "kept" by their big strong heroes?

Yeah. I'm not interested in reading the third. Shame -- I find apocalyptic stories to be interesting, because you can tell very powerful stories about what humans do when the rules of society go out the window. It's just that in these books, the humans are basically morons. Alas.

An amazing second book to a great first one!!!!!!! Had me hooked!! I could not put it down!!!! Can't wait to read the third one!!

What can be better for a husband and wife to pick up other then âHis Wife.â It will definitely make for some hot and steamy nightly reading. I know that we throughly enjoyed some of the games played out in this book. This is one quick fix (only 30ish) pages that will definitely get the imagination and senses flowing. I read it only about an hour, but the impression it left on me lasted for a few days after reading. At first Joshes wife plays the innocent but at night her inhibitions take flight in a world filled with wild wicked pleasures that are not for the faint of heart.

Reading this from a male POV!

Well this is a first time reading in this genre from a male author. Wow! Hoping for another. The descriptive writing was amazing. Not much down time between sexual encounters. Be careful what you wish for!!!! I sure hope this brings them closer together.

Unbelievable couple

I really hate writing bad reviews almost as much as I hate reading unbelievable characters in a story. The writing wasn't bad but the content and how the characters were presented disturbed me (and not because of the porn-like scenes). Conflict is good to keep a story going but out of character behavior just for shock value is a turn off.

Holy hotness is all I can say. My mind was in imaginary mode all day. So much happening in such a short story combined together makes it so pleasurable. I enjoyed every bit of this book. And I only hope for more.
