Great book but....

I enjoyed the story, I did not enjoy the narration on the audiobook. I actually stopped and bought the eBook to finish it.

The story had a very different direction and I liked that. I didn't really like Raphael but honestly I think that may have stemmed from the narration too. He's a comedian but he was never really funny to me. I enjoyed Daisy, I loved her job and the way she reacted to Raphael. I think she needed to get better people in her life, her BFF Nari was mean and bossy.

The story was very well written, and I did like it, I just know I would have like it more if I had read it. I do not want to seem like I'm bashing the narrator because his Rafe voice was good, if a little dry. The problem was when he read the female parts, men should not try to sound like women during narration, it never works. His voice for Daisy's mom was so bad that was when I finally couldn't listen anymore. I think this would have been a lot better if it had dual narration or if the story had been read by a female. I was surprised by the male narration because I think the story was told more from Daisy's POV then Rafe's.

In the end I give the story 4 stars for the good writing, unusual characters and fun subjects. I would recommend reading this book.

âOf Yesterdayâ by Author Alta Hensley is truly an astounding book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Gripping and Captivating with a wickedly devilish plot theme is how best I can describe this story that has certainly kept me up for two nights on end.

In short, this is the story of three main characters that live in a world of long past. The 1800âs set the timeline of this journey in which Jason, Mandy and my personal favorite, Taylor McKnight form the backbone of this tale. Jason and Mandy are siblings struggling together after the death of their parents. Taylor is a healer or witch as some call her. All three collide as their paths cross in a unique way that is not for the faint of heart. I felt that all three of the main characters were written to perfection with uniqueness and personality that places you alongside them the entire time. Romance, adventure, a few hot spankings and some needed discipline make this a nail biting page tuner. In closing, I loved it, enjoyed it and will certainly be checking out more books for Author Alta Hensley. 5 Stars!!!

How simplicity and hard work can bring wondrous love and hot sex!

From the beginning I loved and connected to Taylor, a single woman trying to make her way in the world the best way he could. But "the cowboy" Jason's arrival in her new age shop was a obvious complication. Everything about Jason was pure man, pure sex. I cried out in joy when she agreed to move into the ranch in the planned community, ostensibly to run Jason's home and help with his sister Mandy. Through fits of spankings, sex, and arguments, it was beautiful to watch Taylor and Jason fall in love. A truly beautiful happily-ever-after.

Great, Strong Characters

If you have a tolerance for domestic discipline meted out by a strong alpha male, then you will love this story . I was concerned that it might be about a cult compound, but I never sensed a control being held over people but more of giving people a place to live a simpler life of their choosing while maintaining control of their own lives. The sex in this book is very intimate and vivid. It was similar to watching it take place on a screen...very good writing indeed!

Old Fashioned Romance in a New World

This was a compelling read. I did not want to put the book down! Fiery hot tension between the hero & heroine. They made turning each page irresistible. The sexual tension and spankings got better and better as the book went on. I loved the back story and really wish the author had given more details about the town, fleshing it out more.

Lucky Charms may do wonders

Emma's New Year

This is a very quick read. I think it took me all over 30 minutes. The main story line is simple, as it should be for a short story. The characters were independent of each other and had personality that rang through the writing. The writing itself was well done and easy flowing.

Iâm not a huge fan of the âgay for youâ trope, but it works in this piece. It has to because thatâs the point of it. Emma hasnât ever been in a lesbian relationship or even questioned her sexuality. Iâm also a little perturbed by the fact that Emma being bisexual never came into thought or mind. Itâs something often missed in books/stories like these, and something that should be thought about. Emma has never been attracted to a woman before, thus it makes more sense that sheâs bisexual with a very limited profile of what attracts her concerning women.

I enjoyed reading this piece. It was nice to read language in a story that concerns the LGBT et al community thatâs not often shared by straight writers. That language makes this story an âinâ story and gives it a different type of characterization and meaning.

The ending of this story was definitely fitting for the rest of the plot. Albeit a bit quicker in resolution than expected, it fits and completes the story. I wonât spoil it for those who want to reads it, but itâs good and gives warm fuzzies.

I loved this book!! I loved the characters and of course it was nice to read a book where the setting was in my home St. Croix. The author pulled you into the story and kept me interested. I could not put the book down. I also loved how she infused the Crucian dialect. I would recommend this book to anyone. It was an amazing romance with interesting twist and turns.

Really Good Read

If you enjoy Caribbean reading this is a book for you. I got into it really fast. The accents was on point and you have to be able to switch it up really fast to enjoy the book! I love the romance they both shared. Storyline was well developed. Kudos to the author and excited for more books :)

An Author to Watch

A surprisingly good book, especially from a new Author. The science fiction element is subtle, in a way that makes it seem as if the story were actually written in that world. It is a natural part of the story, not emphasised in any overt way. As it evolves, the society the characters live in becomes increasingly solid and reminiscent of other attempts in the past to create the perfect race.

The passion of the two main characters is intense, as is the love that rapidly develops between them, lending them more depth and humanity than most science fiction characters.

An intriguing book. I am looking forward to the next instalment. If the Author continues to develop the society as she has begun, it bodes well for her next book.
