A Strange New World

This stories opens with a ship full of young women and one old man. The women have been kept young. When the girls are allowed to mature things become even rougher. They end up crash landing and find the men they have been waiting for have had to raise themselves and have a lot to learn. Starla ends up with Leo and while it's rough at first they turn out to be well suited for each other. The men are an interesting mix because they are strong and capable of survival despite having no education. The fantasy element is fun and enhances the story. Can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

Great story

This is a really good sci-fi/fantasy book with a good romantic angle. There are plenty of spankings to go around considering the girls only start to grow up once they hit the planet. These girls sure do know how to cause trouble. Great start to a series.

A Lot of Action in This One!!!

Suzi plans a party while her parents are long gone on vacation. Her stepbrother, Rick, shows up to break up the party ... but that is where the sparks start to fly between them. As wild and adventurous as these two are, they are perfect for each other. Wow, this story has a ton of action, including a lot of toy play. If you like your books of this type heavy on the descriptive/graphic stuff and a bit lighter on the plot line, then this book is for you. And there is a part where Suzi is on the phone and Rick is ... well, let's just say it's pretty hot!

Ms. Quinlan wrote a great short story that shows a woman discovering herself and learning that itâs okay to go after what you want without settling. That is a hard lesson to learn when, at the same time, you donât want to be alone. But it definitely is a good lesson that everyone needs to learn. I loved everything about this book and give it a HUGE 5 STARS!!

Cougar's Rock!

I received this book for an honest review.

Fresh off breaking up with a guy she'd been seeing Ava is off for a ski weekend with her girlfriend and her friend's. Looking forward to the getaway but afraid of feeling like the old lady (40 to their twenty-somethings) in the group she doesn't expect to hit it off with sweet sexy but oh so young (23) Harrison. Can she look past their age difference to relieve some pent up frustration or will her fear of being the cougar again keep her from letting her guard down?

Insert cougar grown here! This was a fun, short, sweet read! Ava is strong witty and comfortable in her own skin and how can you not adore Harrison?? I know I wouldn't turn him away :-) This book had laugh out loud moments as well as plenty of heat to melt the snow. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone and I for one am looking forward to Ava's next journal entry!

Exquisite Reviews - Boy Toy

In this book Ava the 40 years old cougar goes on a skiing trip with her younger friend Bree and his friends after three disappointing sexual experiences with Grant the guy sheâs dating. During the trip she meets Harrison 23 year old Boy Toy and God what a toy. Heâs fun refreshing and everything she wants with the exception of his age. During this trip they have an adventure that goes beyond the ski slopes.

The book itself is a short read, perfect for those that are looking for a great story to read in a short amount of time. The plot is well developed to give you what you want and more. You will be begging to be part of the group in the cabin were sex, fun, love and much more are as expected as your daily meals.

Big Letdown

It seems to me that, somehow, Ms. Armstrong is letting the promise of this wonderful series ride right off the rails. She is such a confident, assured, talented artist, that It's breaking my heart to feel myself pulling away from these amazing characters and her brilliant prose.

First, this is not Book 3. It is Book 2 1/2. Unlike the earlier books, this one is a relatively short novella. With its limited runway space, it would be foolhardy to read this one without reading both prior books. You'll be lost.

Second, this book has only the thinnest of plots, and what little plot it has is totally lacking in originality. Two men who have been through much turmoil and pain to become both professionally successful in the movie industry and deeply, and publicly, committed to each other, decide to get married. That's not all that easy, since it's 2003, and there is no legal same-sex marriage in America. All there is, is Civil Unions in Vermont, and that's where they're headed. On the way, they stop at their hated Alma-mater, where their sexual orientation and their love were openly despised, to give a keynote speech at an auction to raise money to build a performing-arts center on campus. With all the alumni there, they'll be face-to-face with the same boys (now grown up) who made their lives hell. Good move that one, right? Oh yeah, they hope to get "closure".

Still no plot, that's just the setup. The plot doesn't require even a sentence to explain: lovers go to Alma-mater, one lover gets terribly injured, lover recovers, lovers marry. That's it. The rest is, to a great extent, a rehashing of their past at the school, the same past that was rehashed in the award-winning movie Greg made about it - and the previous two books.

Third, the relationship between the two men, deeply explored in the last two books, is devolving into third-rate BDSM. It's so inappropriate to the characters and their relationship that, I fear, it has soured me for the next installment in the series, which I'm pretty sure I'll take a pass on. There is such a thing as good BDSM. There are BDSM books that explore widening that thin slice of sex that lies somewhere between pain and pleasure, and enhances the latter. There are good BSDM books about pushing your limits and learning about yourself in the process.

Very fun, sensuous and playful all at once

This is a very enjoyable read, sexy and playful with a strong undercurrent of romance. The characters are carefully drawn, from the girl-posse to the hunk-o-licious chef. I thought this was a clever, funny book, and I look forward to Berry's future efforts.

I am not crazy about this new trend of buying a book in installments, however. I would far rather wait until the book is complete and get it then. I will look for the next edition and see how it goes from there.

There were two word-usage issues that were annoying. In the gazebo scene, the heroine describes herself as being exacerbated. I don't think, based on context, that she meant exasperated. Exacerbate means to aggravate or worsen an already unpleasant situation. I am not quite sure what the author was intending to convey here, since the gazebo scene was a very pleasant one. The other word choice that was just plain wrong was the h describing her connection to the H by describing how he had entered the abscesses of her mind. An abscess is a pocket of flesh that is filled with pus. To say the least: Eeewww. I am fairly certain she meant recesses here, but that sort of error tends to pull me out of a story. Not a good thing if you want me to keep buying your stories. So, pay attention to the words you choose, don't let spell check be your only check, and Ms. Berry, you are off to a good start.

FLIPin' taking it to the max again MaXXX

Another great work by Maxxx this one has everything mystery, romance, intrique, ghost hunting, voodoo, the supernatural & of course abit of hot sex. I enjoyed reading Haunting as i love ghost hunting and the paranormal and this certainly lived up to expectations. It follows the story of Connor and the mystery behind his wife Karolina's death with abit of intrique and ghost hunting thrown in to help solve the mystery. Maxxx manages to throw in his usual humour in the sex scenes tho instead of a military throw this time its of the ghost hunting genre.I recommend this book as i really enjoyed it, though one will need to have the kleenex handy for obvious reasons. Haunting does have the mystery solved but another mystery has been revealed so there will be another paranoramal romance book in this The Hexed series by Maxxx so looking forward to the next book in this series.

Voodoo,Hoodoo,love and hot sex...oh my! ;0)

This is not the first book I've read by Max but it's totally different as in the paranormal aspect. Follow Connor falling into the depths of despair as he loses his one love Karolina,brought back from the brink himself he learns secrets his family have kept..even Mama D. Connor discovers something about his wife's death and why,how, she has returned. Come take a journey with Connor,his brothers,Mama D and some interesting characters and discover Who? What? Where? Why? I will say no more than...Max you've outdone yourself with this story,I loved your characters,the storyline and the hot sex....well worth reading. Looking forward to the next book, can't wait.
