Angst-free romance read by a passionate narrator

PERFORMANCE:

I'd feel confident betting a lot of money that the narrator, Pamela Peters put a LOT of time and effort into preparing to record this audio book. I suspect that she thoroughly read Booty Call at least one time before actually recording her performance and probably has been trained as an actress. I say this because it's impossible not to notice the amount of emotion exuded in her words; the tone and pitch of Ms. Peters' voice changing to perfectly fit each character, adjusting to conform with the character's mood or situation. Ms. peters did not just read a script or a book; she put on a performance. Ms. Peters is unlike any narrator I've ever listen to listen to probably 50 audiobooks. I feel grateful that I had the opportunity to listen to this book in audio format, certain that my perception of this book would have been very different had I read the ebook where I would have, "heard" the voices in my head instead of through Ms. Peters voice. My feelings about and rating of Booty Call were positively impacted by this narrator's voice.

STORY: Booty Call is not a terrible book yet there is nothing about it that makes it extraordinary or unique either. I understand that some readers like books that do not contain a lot of angst and drama yet I felt this book was a bit too, "safe". For me, the premise behind Booty Call is a typical and predictable one.

For Ruby

In For Ruby's Love, we meet Calhoun and Daniel two years into their relationship. They have a good relationship but have their hands full Calhoun with the ranch and Daniel with his business. I guess, it's called the post-honeymoon phase. Calhoun has a problem with one of the horses in the ranch and need a horse whisperer. The person he booked to attend never showed up instead he got Ruby, the horse whisperer's daughter. When she shows up days later, Calhoun is in a bad move and things don't start out too well for her. Ruby is still mourning the loss of her father who'd always been in her life. She feels lonely but knows she has to get on with the job. If only she can get past the brooding cowboy and her attraction for him.

When Calhoun finds out he is attracted to Ruby, he fights it. How could he be attracted to someone else when he loves Daniel? Daniel also notices the attraction between Ruby and Calhoun. He knows Calhoun hasn't been totally settled recently. Is Ruby what his lover needs to complete him?

I enjoyed this duo of stories especially watching as the relationship between Calhoun and Daniel got deeper. Calhoun was always abrasive and I was expecting the introduction of Ruby to mellow him down. But it only seemed to make him even more defensive. I always liked the way Daniel handled the situation. And Ruby was a strong character. She needed to be in order to deal with Calhoun.

I listened to the stories pretty much back to back. They are at a reasonable length that you can listen to both in one sitting.

Amazing Sweet and Sexy Romance, a delightful book by Emma Andersen

This was a sweet and sexy story, the third in the Orphans Series. The well written storyline is a cross between Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. Annabella escapes the dreadful orphanage where she grew up and becomes the Ward of her friend Violets husband, The Marquis of Havenshire, who plays matchmaker to have her introduced to Owen, The Earl of Worthington. This book has a bit of everything including romance, mystery, danger, violence, spanking and sweet sex. I loved this book and found it to be an amazing read.

I hate these books where their is nothing but punishment

And the women let the men do whatever to them and it DOSENT matter to them because they l I've them.no sass or spunk just brainlessness. He allows his son to see everything while her husband whips her mercilessly over fresh cane welts, with her c completely exposed the son front and centre(because he cont to insult her in front of said husband) but she loves him so much she could . Care less .duh!!! Oh he wants to rape her . Now he cares???? Extremely dumb women, extremely dumb story. Not much story poor plot. Hardly worth the money.

Story with hard edge

A typical Emma Andersen book. Very well written and executed with the usual hard edge. This is not a book for the feint hearted. The punishments are sometimes harsh and sometimes deserved. The characters are well rounded and believable. There is love, fear, Jealously and despair. I think that Ms Andersen writes a more realistic story of Victorian times. It is not all fluffy and light.

Entertaining well written with a good plot . I love the ending . Has action page after page . Emotions are high and annebel gets firm hand but her husband loves her. There is some violents and blackmail but is a good story to read.

Not Entertaining Enough

Would not recommend this book. The plot was very weak, characters not likeable, even the heroine and, it was not very interesting.

Just lots of descriptive sex. The storyline overall is non-existent. The author keeps changing tenses which is mildly annoying. But that's not why most people will be reading this, so critiquing her writing style is pointless.

I liked the story and did not expect the ending. The story is short and I did not really connect with the characters. This was a different perspective on BDSM.

Joey gets a new stepbrother Ryan, who just happened to be popular in school. They go to a party and things happen by chance and they realized they had this connection.

Joey was a little immature esp. toward her mother. Over all I enjoyed this short story.

Veronica Heart is either a hit or miss for me, I really liked how she narrated this book. Only a few times did she drag the endings of the words when she did the male voices. I liked the female characters voice the best. :)

Horrible narrator

What disappointed you about Taken by His Touch?

I couldn't even get through the book and it was under an hour due to the narrator, her voice and tone were not pleasant to listen to and made this story odd.

BLECH! Not sure what was worse

The writing was poor with short-clipped sentences with very little description or interest. The narration was like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. She dragged out the last word (syllable) of each sentence. If she thought this was 'sexy,' she was wrong! It made the listening irritating and from the first paragraph, I wanted the story to end before it had even begun.

Episode 4

This well-written continuation of the Flesh serial takes the story a bit further. Narration is excellent.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

The short book series continues...

Although this short read/listen is way too short, it is well written and interesting. I'm going through the books quickly and enjoying them quite a bit.

The narrators do a great job bringing the story to life. The author really keeps me hooked all the way through.

I cannot get enough of this series. This episode brings us to the next day and Amy talking to Derrick. There is some discussion of not touching Lucian..let's make this relationship totally professional. When the email comes for Amy to come to Lucian's that night to review furniture choices, Amy is shocked to have Lucian show up at the door fresh out of the shower, dinner made and the seduction begins. Their evening is filled with the push and pull of their relationship and Lucian's ability to control her.

Can't wait for part five. This narration team is perfect.

Interesting concept

What made the experience of listening to Flesh: Part Four the most enjoyable?

The progression of he story

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lucien. The woman mentioned his "pantie-dropping smile." She should mention his "pantie-dropping voice." Wow!

It's getting good!

This is a serial series, so you must listen to books 1-3 prior to this one. Flesh is a BDSM club and Lucian is a dom. Amy is curious about the lifestyle and came across Lucian not only through exploring the club but professionally as well. There is chemistry there, but Lucian is holding back.

I am steadily becoming obsessed with this Flesh series. I really want to get inside Lucien's head because he is coming across as such a jerk but I just know that in due time things are gonna switch and combust!

Great story, great narration, very enjoyable.

This was my first book by J.M. Witt and I really enjoyed it. I loved all the characters and there were enough twists and turns to keep things interesting. Oh and don't forget the super hot sex scenes!!! Letting Go had a element of BDSM but not so much that it takes over the story. Even if you don't tend to be a fan of the genre, I think you would enjoy this book. I found Cassidy to be a very relate-able character and if you love a good Alpha male then look no further than James! J.M. did a great job in creating a character that is totally alpha without being a jerk. Hugh Bradley did an excellent job at narrating Cassidy and James's story, transitioning between male and female voices so seamlessly it felt like to distinct characters. Very well done.I look forward to reading more of this series and from J.M.!

Romancers! What can I say about this book! This book had me on edge the entire story. J.M. Witt writes a steaming hot sex scene. As many as there are she never failed to bring the heat. All of the characters are very lovable and easy to relate to. Although I did not cry this book makes your heart goes out to so many of it's characters. This story is unfolding Beautifully!

Cassidy has experienced so much loss and pain in her life. She meets up with James b.k.a. JB3! JB3 is smoking HOT and is known as a ladies man. Cassidy didn't know that until it was to late. I loved all the secrets and how everything unfolded. I love that J.M. Witt ended this story very nicely and unexpectly to me. She gave you a non cliffhanging ending, but at the same time you want to know what is going to happen because we still have some unanswered questions out there.

I can't wait to see what happens with Jane and Cal in Hiding Away: Anchored Hearts Vol. 1.5! I also wants to know what happens with Cassidy & James! Great first novel! What are you waiting for click the button! Let me know what you think!
