An intelligent, sexy piece of writing.

I was enchanted with this story the instant it first appeared on the author's blog. Even though I have read it in it's entirety, I have since purchased it for my Kindle. Yes...it's that good.

There is a quality about the storytelling that is a fresh take on the traditional girl meets girl tale. A wonderful, intelligent use of words and images kept me impatiently waiting for the next installment when the story was written episodically on the author's blog. Now that it is available as one unit here on Kindle, readers can enjoy it at their own pace.

One of the many good things that struck me, is how the chemistry between the two main characters was slowly and carefully crafted to unfold at the perfect pace; much like unfolding a treasured map that will lead to future adventures.

I can not recommend this story enough. Enjoy the word play. Enjoy the images created. Enjoy the intelligent, sexy writing.

The Art of Mapmaking review by Susan

The Art of Mapmaking is written by Thalia Fand as a seduction of the mind as well as the body. The writing of the story intrigues me as much as the story itself. Fand manages to weave a very clear scene of lighting, shadow, colors, patterns and textures, and use them as a draw between Sara and Casey. The setting is an improv club. Casey is a performer, and Sara is an anonymous fan until she calculates the perfect way to get through the groupies to really get to Casey.

The book is short, and a quick read, but one that drew me in and held my attention through to the end.

Fantastic

Short and sweet, but I really wish the author would write longer stories so I can have more of her work to read. I sound like a total fangirl here, but it's sometimes rather difficult for me to find well-written lesbian romance that doesn't involve solving mysteries/crimes or healing shattered spirits (not that those aren't fun at times!). It was a quick, fun and hot story and well worth the money.

Romance with mild erotica

This series follows the steps of the heroine over four continents, where she mates with different men under different interesting circumstances, ultimately finding THE man, she can live with, happy ever after. The romantic story might be interesting enough, the description of the different countries and places quite accurate. But for an EROTIC story, the explicit part is rather standard. So recommended for fans of romance and travel, fans of hardcore erotica need to look elsewhere.

The art of writing the short story comes easily to this author, and its impressive, this was an interesting and sorta sexy little tale with a bit of mystery intertwined...Lord Henry Waynewright is a funny character...and all and all this was a good listen...narrated and written well..and very much worth your time!!!

Steampunk-ish Erotica Noir

This was a neat and kind of funny story. It's a little hard to describe. Yes, it has s.e.x. in it but it's early 1900's meets steampunk noir. Lord Henry Waynewright is in a funny and interesting situation. This was very entertaining. Snyder Sturgess wrecks the train for gold and Wainwright meets Wanda and Charlotte. The story is rather adventuresome while they attempt to save themselves.

This was a good story and it really showcases Karl Michaels voice talent. He was masterful with his different characterizations. He's a great narrator. I quite enjoyed this story and especially the telling of it.

Confused

If you're going to write a story that's this short, please, please , please PROOFREAD! Good Lord, are the characters names Ben & Beth or Katie & Copper. It kept going back and forth it was so confusing. This one's really not worth your time; sorry Rachel Pierre.

Strange book

This book was way to short and had lots of errors. The main characters were being called the wrong name multiple times. I believe an editor should have notice the errors. The story just stops and I would not buy a second book.

Enjoyable

Beth loved her husband and she was preparing a special week long second anniversary for him. He worked such long hours that she hadn't seen him in days so she went to his office one evening and found him kissing another woman. She leaves, stopped at home to pack a bag then drove away. She didn't have any idea where she was going but while driving in a rain storm a few days later, she went off the road and got stuck. Ben scared her silly when he found her but eventually took her back to his house to dry off and warm up.

This short story tugged at my heart strings when Beth saw her husband with someone else. The plot was enjoyable but the characters names changed at times. Beth and Ben changed to Katie and Cooper. This was very confusing at first then just annoying. I liked the story right up to the point that Beth willingly had sex with Ben just days after leaving her husband. I didn't find that believable.

Ummm super short read

Ummm super short read. Not enough time for character development. So much kind of happens with no explanation. One moment she's stranded then next they're in love, if that? But no writing of how and when that happens? I don't get the reference to why he calls her Katie. And then it just ends. I wouldn't have read it if it wasnt on my kindle unlimited.

Huh?

I was so confused. She was madly in love with her husband one day and then in love with someone she just met a week later? And are their names Beth and Ben or Katie and Cooper? Ben/Cooper doesn't seem to mind that she's crying over her divorce while staring a relationship with him. That seems weird. The ending seemed abrupt and the story moved way to fast but I did enjoy the sweet way Ben took care of her.
