'Midwinter Murders'. Written by George Mann. People are dropping like flies in the Warwickshire village of Midwinter Leys, and the number one suspect is Iris Wildthyme. Ruined by music, too loud + intrusive

Iris Wildthyme is a gin swigging, transtemporal adventuress, who travels with side-kick Panda on her double decker bus. Theres three madcap adventures, each 1-hour long.

Ive previously listened to other Iris stories and enjoyed them, but found the music too loud and intrusive so was distracted from the dialogue. Also both Iris and Panda, who are played by Katy Manning and David Benson, are big bold characters and they are fantastic, but their performances highlight deficiencies in other actors/characters.

Also in the last story the vocal recording of Ellie March felt different to the other characters so when she conversed with others it sounded a bit odd. And Sergeant Spartan starting most sentences with Yawl, Yawl, Yawl.. it got annoying.

I love wacky, zany stories so will try more Iris Wildthyme, but am sad this didnt put a smile on my face as Id hope it would.

Creepy and effective but still too short

Like chapter 1, I really enjoyed the story and performances, but it needed to be longer! It felt rushed at many points and I felt like it needed more time to get the characters where they end up.

again great but the ending

why is their 10 minuets of music at the end its nice but it feels like a chip for an audio book of an hour to have 15 minuets of music total with no talking. outside that great story. very true to the adventure path while still doing their own thing. love it keep it up!

Even shorter than the run time would have u think

Okay, so I'm not going to repeat my one complaint about this otherwise good audio drama, jus check out my reviews of the previous 2 installments.

Another annoying facet of this series is that a full 10 minutes of this audio is just music. I don't quite get that. Like a 20 or 30 second music track to get you into this feels like it should suffice, but it just continues to play for just a really long time. It feels like I'm watching a credits sequence but without the credits...

I hate to sound so down on this series because I do enjoy it, but I guess I just want more out of it, especially considering the $22 price.

Too short for the price

This is more like a podcast than an audiobook. Save your money. The performances are good, but its like an hour radio drama.

Fun fantasy audio drama

I have read the adventure this series is based on, and I am still enjoying the radio play.
