    Fantastic
Once again another fantastic story about the teenager spy Alex Rider by Anthony Horowitz. Brilliant narrative who knows how to pack a punch, brilliant a definite must for anyone of any age.
    A Great Second Instalment
This second installment is a great representation of Hororwitz thinking bigger and exploring different experiences for out favourite teenage spy. Still in its early days the book reflects the gripping and compelling story telling that is later found in the future books. This book a great example of how his villains are always larger than life and sometimes almost comical in their absurdity but at the same time believable in their convictions. It also explores Alex lives though struggle between the action filled world where he belongs but hates and the mundane everyday which he craves but is always the outsider for is experiences has began to distance himself from that life he left behind; a struggle that is further explored and is the main theme for Alex's character journey in the whole series.

    100% yes
To be read once, and then again, alone or aloud, with your children or with your partner. See through the eyes of 11-year-old Eldon, as he describes with poetry his life on a Minnesota farm and discovers his Uncle David through magical tales on winter nights.
    Good purchase.
    Everything I expected.
    I liked "Hatchet" better
Read it at the request pf my 9 year old grandson and passed it on to another of my grandsons. I liked "Hatchet" better.
    Good book
Purchased as a gift for a 10 years old boy in advanced classes and he like Paulsen books. Found it is also good for older readers who have difficulty w/Jack London.
    Too slow for a 9-year-old
My wife and have been delighted reading other Gary Paulsen books to our 9-year-old. While "The Winter Room" was satisfied for us adults, our son was quickly bored. Paulsen does a wonderful job activating all five senses as he creates his scenes, and his parents were being drawn into the story and historical setting. But our boy needs a good deal more action. My guess is that a girl may find it more interesting.

    Thrilling from start to finish
I got this book to listen on commutes with my twelve year old. I'm so glad I did! It was phenomenal! Thrilling, exceptionally witty and enough tween attitude to keep my child on the edge of her seat. The narrator did an amazing job with the voices of each character and performed his parts in a very entertaining manner. We wound up finishing the story on our bluetooth speaker at home because we wanted to know what happened next! I can't wait to pick up the next in the series.
    unique story,
great characters, loved the narrator. live near DC so fun to hear the story wind around the city
kept me on the edge of my seat
This book has great writing and the narration is crisp with no error this is a book you will enjoy.

    Persephone from Athens, Georgia...Classic!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would...the narrator's voice was pleasant to listen to and she emphasized emotion when it came to situations of stress, excitement and sorrow.
What other book might you compare Persephone to and why?
I haven't read that many YA books pertaining to Greek mythology, but I would compare Persephone to the Percy Jackson series.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Persephone met the musician, Orpheus. I thought it was brilliant to bring in that character and his wife, Eurydice from mythology.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
As an avid reader of Greek mythology, I was giddy with delight and joy to see these deities come to life in modern time.
    Any additional comments?
I love the author's take on how the Underworld is ran and that Hades is not the bad guy, everyone makes him out to be. A great story overall and would love to see this on film. One quote I would add to my Goodreads favorites, "Hades has the ability to kill you then torture you."
Amazing take on a classic tale!
Would you listen to Persephone again? Why?
YES. I would definitely listen to Persephone again and I plan on doing that many times. The story was wonderful and the characters were deep. I was able to get into the story very easily.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Persephone?
Hades kissing Persephone and marking her as his bride, omg. *chills* Didn't even know him yet but I fell in love right there.
What about Kaitlin Beviss performance did you like?
I loved how she added tone and snark to her character's dialogue. I didn't have to squint and figure things out myself, because Bevis let me know exactly what was going on at all times.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, of course. But how am I supposed to share these moments without spoiling the whole story?
    Any additional comments?
I loved the new take on the classic Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. Bevis did a wonderful job of taking a fairly-well-known story and turning it into something new and exciting!
    I loved it!
The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I loved this audiobook! When I saw that the author had narrated her own book, my first thought was "this is going to be an awful book to listen to." Boy, was I ever wrong!! Kaitlin Bevis is amazing! Not only is the story good but she is an amazing narrator to boot! I loved the underworld and Hades and want to explore the relationship between him and Persephone more.

    FIRST AUDIBLE BOOK
My first but not my last. I this book and the performance. 5 stars all around.
    9th grade required reading
Loved it! We (my son & I) thoroughly appreciated the subtle rural and urban life comparisons. Myers touched on so many significant points, e.g. the wisdom young folks can glean from elder engagement, the modern pattern of grandparents as single parents, repeated cycles of disjointed father/son relationships, the sense of hopelessness felt by incarcerated individuals, etc.

    Quite a story!
Being a sci-fi lover from way back, this little series was quite a surprise. Great characters- though irksome at times, for their immaturity-great scenario, great read. Thank you, sir, for your work.
    I loved the other two-but.
    The climax
was different than I imagined and some ends were not completely tied.
there is a twist to the story and it is hard to except, however, not bad just different and original
so I'd have to say although I liked the first two books the best this was also a decent thrill ride.
    Five Stars
    Good stuff.
    nice conclusion
It started off looking pretty bleak and taking shots in the dark but it turns into something else all it's own - sometimes tense sometimes sad but overall real good!
    great book
this is a great si-fi book. lots of action and great story. I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone who enjoys si-fi action.

    Character driven suspense
What did you love best about Hysteria?
The way the author dropped a few clues here and there along the way but still kept us in the dark about what happened right up to the end.
What about Holly Fieldings performance did you like?
She did a good job throughout the book.
    Any additional comments?
Megan Miranda has written a suspenseful story, focusing on the main character's inner journey. The secondary characters are three dimentional and interesting.
Good story. Narrator is kind of annoying
The story was good. Keeps you guessing. The narrator swallows allot and is nasally in some parts.
    what a poor read
What would have made Hysteria better?
A decent story would have helped but I regret that this was not the case
What will your next listen be?
    Vicious circle
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Holly Fielding?
    nothing wrong with the narrator

Young Sherlock's friend and her father have vanished. Their house looks as if nobody has ever lived in it; the neighbors claim never to have heard of them. Sherlock begins to doubt his sanity, until a clever clue points him to Scotland. Following that clue leads him into a mystery that involves kidnapping, bodysnatchers, and a man who claims he can raise the dead. Only the budding detective Sherlock can untangle the mind-bending - and dangerous - puzzles that ensnare his friends. Think you know Sherlock Holmes? Think again!
    Critic Reviews:
"Narrator James Langton portrays 14-year-old Sherlock Holmes, ably capturing the qualities and quirks that the famed detective became so known for when he grew up. Langton demonstrates a genuine understanding of every character's motivations and deftly portrays their various foreign accents and class distinctions. As delivered by Langton, the voice of the criminal mastermind, Scobell, exudes such malice it makes one's blood run cold. This series is a must for Sherlock fans and will undoubtedly attract new ones." (

    Young Sherlock Holmes
Truly enjoyable books, with characters that seem as believable as Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved consulting detective
    Good series!
What did you like best about this story?
The story was engaging and moved quickly. It completely caught and kept my interest. I listen to audio books while I do the daily five miles. These stories find me laughing and sometimes gasping out loud as I walk. These are fun and exciting stories! Hope we get the chance to listen to the other three stories that are not yet available on Audible!
What does James Langton bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Daniel Weyman read the first two and James Langton read the other two. While I think that Weyman did a much better job, Langton does a good job. I'm just not fond of the American voice he uses for the American characters.
    Any additional comments?
This is a really good series that I thoroughly enjoyed but only four of the seven books in this series are available at Audible. There are three published books that are not available. Snake Bite (September 2012), Knife Edge (October 2013), and Stone Cold (September 2014) are the three titles not available as audio books. I am hoping that Audible produces and releases them soon!
    My thoughts
I really liked how the whole story blends the different parts together. I would recommend this book to my friends because they like the same kinds of books that I do. I can't wait to read the next one.
    Wanting more early Holmes.
I look forward to Lane's next book!
Each development is a precursor to Holmes emerging personality. I say, It's Elementary !
Another well done young Holmes story
Entertaining story and well written. Much recommended. Could have done without the 2-3 instances of cursing.

The third novel in David Stahlers Truesight arc, Otherspace follows series protagonist Jacob, a Seer who came into his powers late in life, as he strikes out in search of others like himself. Hes heard of a colony where he might finally find a home...but as the journey there proves deadly dangerous, and Jacob continues to manifest new powers, he begins to wonder if such a place even exists for him.
Voice actor Macleod Andrews is a surefooted performer with a quick, sometimes clipped style that will keep listeners captivated as the action unfolds in this captivating science fiction thriller.

    Found, not lost in space.
I'm not a skilled reader, but this book and the two previous in this series, I found mesmerizing. The creative mind of the author is remarkable. You finish a chapter and want to go right on to the next. It's great to have a book that you can just get lost in the adventure. I shared the first with two of my colleagues and they can wait to read the next two.
    Picturesque finale
Adept with lexical dexterity, Stahler ties up all the loose ends of the trilogy with both grace and surprise. While other sci-fi writers leave you with a pit in your stomach, Stahler leaves his readers with a deep sense of inspiration, hope, and adventure. "Otherspace" is a very satisfying conclusion, indeed.
    Otherspace (Truesight Trilogy) is awesome!
I love this trilogy! And you should read all three books to really get the full picture. This writer is so creative and gives you a new perspective on things. I hope it gets turned into a movie - Hollywood, are you listening?
    cool reads for teens/young adult
all three of my girls liked these books. the youngest couldn't wait fot the sequels!!! the key to keeping them reading is finding books that interest them...
    Seeing Stars
Otherspace, the exciting and satisfying conclusion to the Truesight Trilogy is a sensational wrap-up for a very inventive science fiction thriller for young adults. I was ambivalent about starting this third installment because although I loved the first book, book two didn't totally thrill me. Seer, book two, was a good story, it just didn't go in a direction that I enjoyed that much. However after just finishing Otherspace, I can see now how the second novel ties in for a perfect trilogy blending.
This finale for me was the best book of the three. Combined, these three interwoven stories of the adventures of Jacob Manford, a boy born blind who in his early teens begins to see, are adventurous, certainly thought provoking, and creative.
