Theyre back!!! The Pirate Captain and his irascible crew of scoundrels return in their soggiest saga yet.
Fresh from their mishaps with Charles Darwin and the evil Bishop of Oxford, the Pirates set sail in a bouncy new vessel - purchased on credit. In order to repay his debts, the Pirate Captain is determined to capture the enigmatic White Whale, hunted by the notoriously moody Ahab, who has promised a reward.
Chaos ensues, featuring the lascivious Cutlass Liz, the worlds most dangerous mosquito, an excerpt from the Pirate Captains novel in progress (a bodice ripper, of course), whale ventriloquism, practical lessons in whale painting, a shanty-singing contest in a Las Vegas casino, and a dramatic climax in which the Pirate Captains prize ham saves the day! Move over, Herman Melville.

Perfect for reading aloud to kids.
More pirates! Bring on the glorious workers' utopia!
We've read all but the "Napoleon" book in the Pirates series, and that one is next on our list... but "Ahab" is our favorite. "Twas a whale that gave me this," has become a regular joke around our house. Thank you, Gideon Defoe! Keep them coming, please!
looking forward to new titles by this author
from beginning to end, the priate captain and ahab was a great read; a fun read and someting i'd recommend to readers who sometimes find little time to really read for just plain fun.
Is There Anything These Books Cannot Do?
"There were several reasons why the Pirate Captain and Black Bellamy didnât get on, but the main one was that Black Bellamy was the Pirate Captainâs evil nemesis, which obviously put quite a strain on the relationship."
These books aren't for everybody. But they should be.
If, for some unimaginable reason, you find yourself not liking these books, immediately schedule a therapist, or a hypnotist, or possibly an exorcist until you do. You owe it to yourself.
More Pirates!
The pirates are back, but it seems that their piratical escapades may be in jeopardy. Their boat is rapidly falling apart, so they pay a visit the boatyard owned by the fearsome Cutlass Liz, the most ferocious lady pirate ever to sail the seven seas (who once ate twenty babies just to prove how ferocious she is). She also is one of the most feared loan sharks, and when the Pirate Captain makes a typically extravagant gesture and buys her most luxurious ship on credit, he only has a limited amount of time to come up with the six thousand dubloons he still owes her before she dismembers them all (as outlined in the contract). Fortunately, Captain Ahab has just placed a bounty on the head of the white whale who ate his leg, and the reward for the capture of the beast just so happens to be six thousand dubloons. Now all the pirates have to do is find a way to catch the whale in time to save all of their skins -- and the Pirate Captain's wonderful beard -- from certain doom.
This took me about a hour to read, tops, (as did the first book in the series). It was, of course, very entertaining and I snickered all the way through. It makes a great beach read (incidentally, that's where I read it myself) or for when you just don't want to have to devote a lot of brainpower to something.
