Kylee has another mission and a new ally, but will it be enough to battle the desert heat?
Virtue and devotion. Who would have thought those two qualities could get you killed? When a bicorn starts terrorizing Las Vegas, that's exactly what this murdering beast targets.
Kylee Paradox is given the mission to bring this monstrosity to justice, but the desert does not bode well for a siren. In fact, it could be just as deadly as the monster she is hunting.

This Book Will Most Definitely Surprise You
Waking the Siren by J.E. Taylor is book 2 in her The Paradox Files. In this book we are reunited with Kylee ten years after she was sent to destroy her brother, a fellow siren, who had gone rogue and started killing innocent human beings. She still has not regained her voice but she is still in a relationship with Alex. A few things have changed though since last we met. A new Fate is in charge. Sheâs new and hasnât been in power long but she must be strong, sly and smart because she took out the old Fate and took over her job. She comes to Kylee with a new job but this is one is just as dangerous if not more so than the mission of when she had to go after her brother. For this mission she must go after a bicorn. This creature is targeting men who are virtuous and devoted to the ones that they pledge their lives toâtheir brides. Kylee has been chosen to take on this monster but itâs in Las Vegas and Vegas is in the middle of the desert and Kylee does NOT do well in dry conditions and when gone from the ocean for too long (more than 3-5 days) she stops being the beauty that she is and it takes months to fully recover from the havoc that being separated from the ocean creates. But go she must or more lives will be lost. Since she is the only one of the creatures under Fate who has a binding contract she is the one that Fate will be leaning on heavily. For the moment Alex is out of town visiting his children but will she be able to get gone before he gets back so that she doesnât risk his life or will he come back to complicate things for her?
I absolutely love that in essence Waking the Siren picks right up where things left off. Kylee is still silenced from the former Fateâs punishment and she is still dealing with the pain of having to kill her own flesh and blood. When she is told her new mission and that is a bicorn I honestly let my imagination conjure up a two horned unicorn. Yeahâno such luck on that one. Itâs a hideous monster with no face and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth and it can take on any form that it wants. This new Fate wants Kylee to go to Vegas, find it, kill it and then come back but unlike her predecessor she is willing to work with Kylee to help her get in and out so that she doesnât suffer from being gone from the ocean long. So for now one will be inclined to like this new Fate. Itâs very obvious that she is new on the job because she doesnât know much and she has a large lack of experience but she seems kind so thereâs hope.
In this book we really see some drama and tension between Kylee and Alex but itâs because of the fact that his ex-wife is a real demon herself. Not literally mind you but figuratively.

The final book from a sexy new series for adults who loved A Game Of Thrones, Hunger Games, and Divergent....
I was a shy orphan girl living in a dystopian world controlled by the WereDragons. My life was changed forever when Prince Eli became the new dragon king and summoned me to be his mate. Now I am in love and I have a place on the throne next to him as queen. However, life is not yet perfect and evil still lurks. If me and Eli are ever going to be able to have a normal life, then we need to go to New Hope and put an end to Marissa, once and for all....

    Four Stars
Thoroughly enjoyable story, kept turning the pages!
    Loved it!
I loved the story line of this series. I gave it four stars because some of the parts from the ends of the books did not match the beginning of the next.
We Can All Use A Little More Cake In Our Lives
This is the final book in the series and brings to a conclusion quite a comprehensive and engaging story that was an enjoyable read.
Kate didnât know how or why, but she has to protect Lucy at all cost; something is driving her, calling her West. While Kate has never believed in predestination, now she isnât so sure; she recognises the place and the child from her dreams. It is part of the reason Kate took this assignment, but Eli doesnât trust Kate and even worse he didnât trust Lucy. Lucy is so worldly and mature at times, but she is still just a 12-year old girl, though headstrong and determined. Kate herself might not be a threat, but she has brought dangerous things with her and change would follow. It becomes clear to Kate that she has to do whatever it takes to keep Lucyâs existence from being made public, so when she leaves without saying goodbye, Lucy sneaks into the chopper and hides; she is chasing a dream and has no idea of the danger she is putting herself in. All she wants to do is see New Hope for herself. Lucy knew she could trust Kate, but not Caleb. No one had wanted Caleb on their team, but because Kate and he had history, she was giving him a chance to redeem himself. Lucy recognises that the First Lady, Marissa, is a WereDragon; this will only put President Pearce and everyone else in New Hope in danger, but would Kate be able to prove that before it is too late. Meanwhile, Caleb is worried about saving his career and his city in that order and has no qualms about using Lucy as bait. President Pearce is just a pawn Marissa has used to get Kate to find the child for her. Marissa knew that Kate would go to Aman even without the Presidentâs orders, but she never anticipated that Kate would bring the child and her family to her. Marissa had chosen her own Fate and was proud of the fact, even though she had to know she was fighting for the wrong side. The book has a few twists to make it an interesting and pleasant read, but it needs to be read in conjunction with the other books in the series to get the benefit of the whole story.
    WOW
I hate that this is the last book in the series. The entire series is excellent writing with strong stories, great characters, and enough twists and turns to keep the reader's interest. But, I want to know how Lucy and Kieran finally get together, finally fall in love, and hopefully get married. Please, Lucy, find it in your heart to write one more book to answer my questions, Please, please, please! I definitely recommend this book to all.

Exciting story and loved the characters
This is the 2nd book of the three part series, "Warriors After Dark." I read the first about Larian and Princess Lizbett and loved the story and especially the characters. Maggie Carpenter has quite a way with writing and her stories usually have great, exciting and very imaginative plots. Also she is able to bring her characters alive and make you care about them and what happens to them; I also like that the chemistry between the couples is always erotic and very sensual. This 2nd story about the witch, Angelica and warrior Darius is also good and I liked that Larian and Lizbett were part of the plot as well. This one was full of spells, incantations and dangerous events and kept me reading to see what would happen!
I can't wait to read the 3rd book in this series!
    A Real Page Turner! Erotic!
Fabulous sequel to The Warrior and the Petulant Princess, the first warrior book. I was happy to see the Larian and Lizbett return (from the first book), but I simply loved the new characters, especially Darius, the hunky warrior with a hurting heart. Angelica (what a name!) is a mischievous witch. They're working together to help Darius back in his home of Zanderone.
Angelica is both naughty and vulnerable. As a witch, she thinks she can't have love in her life, but wants to meet Larian and Lizbett because she's heard they are madly in love - just what she wants to find! She wants to figure out how they do it. Angelica is happy but lonely - so she casts a spell so he will want to take her to bed (wouldn't you like to do just that!!). However, it didn't go perfectly.
The story is full of adventures, excitement and a real page turner. Don't figure on reading this one just before bed and expect to sleep! Erotic spanking, romance, passion and discipline fill the pages. This was terrific, and I really enjoyed it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the first book, and this one is even better
Lord Larian and Princess Lizbett come back about a third of the way through, and of course Lizbett was being her usual petulant self, but she was more grown-up in this book.
The mischievous witch was certainly mischievous, and the warrior sent to find her, Darius Dunworthy (love that name) puts her in her place. He is a warrior with a sad past when it comes to women. It's nice to think of a hunky hero having a vulnerable heart.
There's a lot of excitement in this book.

    Book 1
    Which scene was your favorite?
Fallen angels have mated with humans and created a race called Nephilim. Because of this, the world is changing. Both the human race and the angelic race are dwindling and archangels exist only in stories. However, legend says that a half archangel born from fire will save the world.
    Whiplash
What did you like best about The Chronicles of Fire and Ice? What did you like least?
The storyline was amazing! The narrator wasn't.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Chronicles of Fire and Ice?
I wish this question wasn't asked! How can I tell anyone that without spoiling the whole book?
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I got whiplash listening to it! There was no pause between scene changes! It was like I was rushed through the story, or rather dragged through it. The narrator has a pleasant voice but doesn't give the reader a chance to take a moment to process what has just happened.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
The romance was irresistible, BUT the audiobook would have been better if the narrator had taken a pause between the scenes.

    Wow, I wasn't expecting that.
Alice in wonderland meets Peggy Sue got married.
The narrator does a bang up job. She might turn into a favorite for me.
This audiobook was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this voluntary review.
    Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Original, Page-turner, Romantic, Twisted, Unpredictable Witty, Wonderful characters.
    A very pleasant audio surprise!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely. Although paranormal romance is not typically my chosen genre, this book was recommended to me for the narrator's performance and I could not be happier! The narration absolutely made the story come to life and the character choices were extremely entertaining; that coupled with Brynn Myers's sweet but poignant story of finding yourself in spite of yourself makes this a recommendation I will surely give in the future.
What did you like best about this story?
Strong female characters that also have a genuine vulnerability to them is a difficult tightrope to walk and Myers does so beautifully. The narrator does such an amazing job of personifying the proud and self-assured but undoubtedly broken Novi, you can't help but identify with her. There is a subtlety to the writing and the portrayal that makes the story itself is so relatable. Novi chooses to leave behind everything she knows to pursue a dream that falls apart, explained through "flashbacks" in the book. It takes time for her to come to terms with letting go of her shame and the guilt caused by her choices so she can truly find herself, in an extremely unlikely place.
Which character as performed by Andrea Parsneau was your favorite?
Character-wise I greatly enjoyed Lithia. The dripping venom in her words made her a solid villain without being too over the top. The characters in this book in general are just a treat to listen to across the board.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. It's a short enough length that it was easy to listen to in a day without feeling like the story was rushed.
    Any additional comments?
The writing and story are beautifully done but this title really shines with the stellar work by Andrea Parsneau. I cannot find more work by her right now as it seems she is a newer narrator, but I hope to see more from her soon (and maybe in other genres as well, I can only listen to so many romance novels ;)).

    .Delectable Destiny
Some have called the ending "cliffhanger," but I wouldn't say so. (I absolutely hate them, and I did not have the desire to throw my device when it ended, so) It does end with more of the story needing to be told, but I would say it's more of a "To Be Continued," WHICH is OK with me because: 1- Part 3 is out soon and 2- Part 2 is long enough that it's worth a credit. (These are MY criteria, based on MY peeves. If you're cool with one book being broken into pieces of less than 6-8 hours and waiting ages for some resolution, bless you. I'm not down with that.)
so all in all I really enjoyed this story but beware it's a cliffy. Not a terrible cliffy but it does feel like it kind of cuts off abruptly. This book was sweet and twisty with lots of secrets and misdirection. I liked most of the characters a lot but I will definitely be listening to book 3when it comes out on audio!
It's a whirlwind of emotions. Quite probably, the best in the series.the stories, the souls -- everything combines with a well-built plot, an expanded universe and realistic, flawed portrayals of characters in order to deliver the best kind of chills. Lesley Parkin was a true delight to listen to and was very enchanting.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. As always this is my honest opinion
    Great series
Would you listen to Blair's Destiny again? Why?
Yes I would as I really love the characters and the series
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jamie. I just loved how much she grown into this timeframe she had been dropped into
Have you listened to any of Lesley Parkins other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, It was wonderful as she also narratored book one and I loved hearing the same voices I fell in love with in book one
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
yes when Jamie and Jack were searching for Blair to help her overcome the darkness
    Any additional comments?
This is part of a series so we are left hanging in the end. It wasn't a horrible way to end it but it does leave us wanting more of the story. I love these characters so I can't wait to read/listen to more of them.
    Well worth a credit
    Blair's Destiny
    Any additional comments?
Good second installment. While the story was entertaining and overall very enjoyable it just didn't hold my attention as completely as the first book did. Not sure why. It had every one of the same elements that the first book did and it is a really good story.

A fun, easy, yet still thought provoking read
This high school English teacher loved the pacing, characters and structure of this Teen Lit book. While we have seen the outlines of this story before (after all, how many ways can a troubled but determined group of kids fall in love?!) what sets Aqua apart is the twist that mixes science and supernatural forces. There is great subtext about our responsibility for what we create, for what others choose, for taking charge of our hardest hopes.
AQUA (The Arydian Chronicles Book 1)
AQUA grabs your attention from the first line and takes you on a daring and wondrous adventure over land, and in an underwater sea world. The story weaves its love triangle seamlessly amidst a colony of sea people called âArydiansâ trying to save their species. This story I amazingly well written and you will devour the book in just a few hours like me, or keep you reading late into the night to know the end of this exciting tale! I can definitely see this book becoming a movie someday
Canât wait for the sequel!! You will not be disappointed - such a good read!
Great read for teens and adults alike!
I generally don't read a lot of fiction because it's either contrived or trying to hard to be edgy. Aqua is edgy without trying and doesn't give itself away like a lot of mainstream novels do. Kathy Walters is an extremely gifted writer and a talented storyteller. There was plenty of substance for me and enough "teen appeal" for my 14-year-old stepdaughter. Highly recommended!
    Leaves you wanting more!
If a book doesn't appeal to me in the first few pages I usually don't finish it. This book grabbed me right away and never let me go! The characters were fresh and believable and immediately took you into their world. Not sure who the intended audience would be but I am 68 and enjoyed it immensely but my 16 year old granddaughter would love it too! Kathy Walters allows us to enter into the world of her imagination and escape our own for awhile. I am looking forward to more from her!
    Aqua review
It was overall a good book. I thought that it started out a little bit slow, but after the first few chapters I couldn't put it down. Some of the dialogue seems a bit unnatural, but overall the characters and their relationships were well developed and believable. I look forward to future installments in this series.

    Any additional comments?
This was a fun story but too short. It has some action, a little mystery & suspense. There are some twists of this paranormal world.
Great New Installment to this Series!
I love where this story is going! This was a fun story with a little bit of everything. It has a lot of action, a budding romance, a little mystery & suspense too. I really enjoyed the twists of this paranormal world that made this stand out from other books in the genre. The only complaint I have is ... the length! It was too short, the story ended just as it was getting going. I can't wait for the next book in the series! Loved the writing and the narration! Jessica Reiner-Harris did a great job of the voices for all the characters, they were all different so it was very easy to follow.
    Great sequel
If you could sum up The Marked One in three words, what would they be?
    Romantic, captivating, interesting
What other book might you compare The Marked One to and why?
I really have not read any other stories like this. I've heard a couple by Geraldine and now I am stuck waiting for the next.
Which character as performed by Jessica Reiner-Harris was your favorite?
Sara, she seems to be the lead sister and the one that is most in control
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Journey of the Shapeshifters
    it was good.
the book was good. the story was going well but as with most books this short it seems you are just getting into it and it's over. it seems more like the first 2 chapters. I listened to the first book as well and it seems that the two stories have nothing in common except the bear shifters. this book was much more entertaining than the first book. I would listen to the next book if the story continues.
    Amazing story!
I absolutely loved this audiobook and highly recommend to anyone that enjoys this genre of books.
I just wish it was longer and cannot wait to read more work by this author. I will also listen to more work by this narrator too. She was amazing!

    Immortal Queen
Will Taylor ever stop the werewolf curse or will the war Ivan waged rage on? It seems when she and her friends finally have a chance to relax and find peace, something drastic happens and another battle rages. Then the King of Immortals swoops in.
After battling her way through Hell and back literally, it seems another hell is awaiting her in another dimension. Will it ever end? Will Taylor find her way back home to her loved ones?
This series keeps getting better as the stakes rise.
    Amazing
The book started off with action and didn't let up. I can't wait to see what becomes of Taylor and Jesse's relationship as well as Taylor and Alexios'. Thank you Krissy for a great story.
    Amazing
Christy Peebles is an exceptional author. Is hard to go wrong with on of her books. This is my second time around for this series and there will be more.
    Great Series!
Sitting on the edge of my seat to see what happens next! Great follow-up!
    Very good!
I love this series, but I want Taylor to have that happy ending so bad. This poor girl cannot catch a break! That being said, this book was definitely good. finished it in a day and am patiently waiting for book 8!
