Saddled bearback

Jamie is working on the ranch with her Dad trying to save their family ranch. Her Dad has brought her cousin Oliver in to help with the books, Her and her father were dealing with the loss of her mother and brother. She does not like her snotty cousin one bit. But her Dad thinks the sun rises and shines on the boy and makes excuses for him. They hire Jesse to help on the ranch things are getting worse with the cattle being attacked by a werewolf . This is a well written story with really great characters loving this story

I liked the main story

Saddled Bearback is a good story and honestly the first half of the bonus stories are good too. I had some problems with the more towards the end since a few copied complete paragraphs from each other.

I recommend that the reader skim the story titles since Bear Ranchers book 1 is included in the bonus material.

Again, the story was ok but moved forward to quickly.

Too good to pass up !

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Jamie and her Father suffered a tremendous loss and were still grieving.

Jesse came into the picture as a hired hand. Between the cousin doing all kinds of dirty deeds to the family, dealing with the pain, it was nice to see Jamie and Jesse fall in love.

Becca did her usual great job of creating a wonderful story line and ending.

Saddled Bearback is a sweet, short boy meets girl story. There is just enough plot to keep the story interesting as Jessie and Jamie get to know each other and about the problem werewolves in the area. The first two pages of the story are a bit gruesome since they are from the perspective of the dying brother, but it definitely sets the stage for the struggles to run the farm.

The story starts off with the main female lead, Sorella, trying to find her brother.

I would like to say.. that I really like strong female leads.

Sorella then meets, Ian, a bounty hunter, sparks fly, and the journey begins.

The narration by S.W. Salzman was decent.

A Distracting Romance

Audiobook - narration, S.W. Salzman, pretty good - he has a nice narrative voice and was pleasant to listen to.

I had a really hard time with this audiobookbook. I bet I listened to chapter 2, six or seven times (no joke) and chapter three four or five times. At least I wanted to know what was going on enough to re-listen to the chapters, but I just couldn't stay engaged. As a result, I'm not entirely sure that I completely 'got it'.

It seemed to me that it was a fictional history of the world but it felt sort of futuristic. I enjoyed that part of the story and I think my final assessment is that the romance distracted me from the part of the story that I wanted to understand and was really interested in.

Once I got past the fourth chapter or so, I cruised right through it. The relationship and the sex scenes continued to distract me, but not as much. I guess I just wanted more about this new world which I found quite intriguing.

Feel deceived

I'm sick and tired of getting a book thinking that the info on the summary is correct, and find out that it turns out to be a bunch of short stories. This writer is good. If she would actually write a full length book it would be worth reading. She is good at developing characters. I could do with a bit less sex. Don't get me wrong, I think sex is great to have in a book. Unfortunately these literally seem to be written just to highlight sex . You get interested in a character, a conflict point is introduced, the characters have panty melting sex, then the story immediately ends. The story line never is realized. I feel cheated.

She Feels Overwhelmed

This is a quick violent read about a doctor whose life is in danger because she takes care of shifters. She seems to have a problem with her confidence in her abilities to do her job. Enjoy I did.

False advertising - it's a bunch of short stories

What the description makes sound like a paranormal romance novella is actually a collection of 34 (yep, I counted, 34!!!!) incredibly short stories (a novella is not the same thing as a short story, people - Hemmingway's The Old Man and the Sea is a novella at around 130 pages, so a rough guide is that under 100 is a short story, over 200 is a novel). To be fair, at the bottom of the description the author does state that she's included a few (34!!!) short stories as a thank-you to readers, but she doesn't state that Bearly Mended itself is also a short story, or a novelette if I'm being REALLY generous. They're all the same length, about 25 pages each, around 500 kindle locations each. So, unless you want a really large data file of short stories (because even though they're short, there are 34 of them!) clogging up your kindle or phone's kindle app, be warned. Also, if you're looking for a proper pnr book with character & plot development about a human doc meeting her shifter patient and running around escaping baddies whilst falling in love, this isn't that. That story, Bearly Mended, is only like 20 pages long, too short for any development, and only the first of 34 unrelated stories with completely different characters.

Not great but good..

This was a quick little listen, and it was kind of cute. It was based on a demon that lived in a B&Bs basement and Nate and Haylee had to figure out how to rid the house of it. Since it was only a novella everything was answered in a hurry and Nate and Haylee fell in love in 3 days time. And thats how long Con had to be human, before he turned back into a gargoyle in the graveyard. I'm assuming there is or will be other books since Con's story doesn't seem to be over. Not a cliffhanger but it was left open for more.

There was one sex scene, which was very boring and short. And the F-bomb was used 2 times.

As to the narrator: Hmmm.. Not sure how I felt about him. HE did read with some emotion BUT there were times when NATE sounded too feminine for me, which was odd since the narrator was a man. I listened to Michael Ferraiuolo in other books and he was fabulous, but in this book, not so much. This will definitely NOT stop me from listening to him.

The Tale of Kian and Rukia

This is a fairly short audiobook with under 4 hrs. It is a tale of two teens that become friends.

They are supposed to be enemies. Rukia is an Elemental which controls fire, but she keeps that fact hidden because of the Hunters. She is from a wealthy area.

Kian is a Hunter and he loves killing Elementals. He blames them for his poverty situation. Kian lives in the Velt and has grown up hating the Elementals.

They become friends and don't know that they are in the opposite side. They fall in love and once they are faced with the truth about each other they have to decide what to do. It seems that their relationship became something more very quickly.

This is the beginning of a series so their story will continue on the next book of the series but it did end in a good note not a cliffhanger.

The narration was ok. The story was ok. It was written in dual POV which I enjoy. The part before they met was a bit disturbing. Kian found himself in a bad situation and Rukia and her sister helped him out.

The story is not as engaging as many short reads I have read/listen to. I like some humor, suspense, drama, adventure, or action to spice up romance. I felt it was pretty blend. The dialogue was simple. It did not make much sense to me why the Hunters want to kill all Elementals. Perhaps the author could have elaborated why the hunters think that the Elemetals are to be blamed by everything that has happened to the world. Some of their reactions did not make much sense to me.

Great story!

The setting is in the future. The world has changed dramatically and a new structure and society has formed. The wealthy live in the hills, amongst them are elementals people who have abilities to wield Earths elements. The most feared of the elementals are those who wield fire. Below the hills live the poor humans who have no power over the elements. There is a group who live in this area called the Velt who hunt and slay the fire starters.

Kian is a hunter and Rukia is a fire starter but they dont know this about each other. Their friendship blossoms into a romance. The story between them is sweet.

This is my full review!

This is my second book by Diane Rinella, and I'm becoming a fan of her work. It's A Marshmallow World is a lot lighter than the other book I read of hers, but I enjoy lighthearted reads between my normal chaos. This was a great book to listen to while doing busy work around my house. I thought Darla and Chris were too cute, and I'm hoping there is more from them in the following books. Darla was the perfect amount of understanding and stubborn. I'm sure her friends are just as interesting from the brief moments you see them. The paranormal aspects were also pretty adorable; Gran was my favorite character hands down. The audiobook was a little over 2 hours, and I'm craving more from this story. I wasn't really keen on the narrator, but she started growing on me towards the end. I also adore the holiday/Christmas theme - I'm a little sad it's still half a year away. I'm already feeling the season thanks to this book.

Great Novella ~ Original Mix of Shifters & Angels!

Overall, this was a decent novella and both the plot and narration was good. The story moved at a steady pace and had enough action and romance, it held my attention. I liked the originality and the mix of shifter, angels, and demons and how an Elite Guard of angels actually protect and run Hell.

The only down side for me was I started with book five, and this story is not a strong "stand alone" and I could feel I was missing out on some of the back stories. However, the author did include enough tidbits on prior events, I didn't feel lost and was able to understand how the story developed from the beginning. I do strongly recommend starting with book one and think this series will be much more enjoyable listening to them in order.

Now, I did enjoy this story enough I would go back, and listen to the series from the beginning and have actually placed book one in my wish list (along with book one from Forbidden Love series). While the story was good, and I think I will enjoy the rest of the series, these stories are very short, so I will be watching for them to go on sale.

In this installment we get Lucas the werewolves story, he joins the guardians....and helps to contain the breach on hell by helping to get River, who is Satan's daughter to help close it...of course as always there is some romance and a fight to save hell from taking over earth...and I liked it!! This is a fun series, its not super serious...the narrator is good, the main character Ash is snarky... and it is a quick and interesting listen!! I cant wait for the net one!!! :)

Tender heart

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and I will be honest I was expecting something a less exciting. That's honest when you think of mail ordered brides in stories you hear of how there almost never attraction excitement. That is definitely not the case here, you get that plus more. You have Samuel who is a horse shifter and the leader of his herd. But he also cares for others in other areas and steals from an shifter because the guy doesn't care for his people. Samuel had my heart then come on he does not keep any for himself at all but he does go to danger to provide for the less fortunate. Jane became a mail order bride because her family was in need of funds and she not only had her parents to wrong about but two younger sisters. So she wanted to release some of their stress which by accepting Samuel she did. Now on a train to meet him her nerves got a hold of her and she is lost in thoughts of a beautiful horses running next to the train but before she can think of anything else the train is being robbed. You would think she would hide scared right? But nope she was curious and went to look, in doing so she came face to face with one. The robber just walked to her and kissed her and boy did she kiss back. I mean seriously I think I would have done the same... But after feeling bad and finally reaching Samuel and meeting him things get more confusing. He is the robber and not only that he was also the beautiful horse she saw. What will happen to them? Will she leave him? Grace did warn them.. If she stays will he continued to rob the trains or walk away? The story was short and I seriously wish it continued because I did enjoy it. Now as a bonus you get a ton of other stories and if I continue you would miss the excitement of seeing for yourself..

The storyline is unique and stunning. The characters are awesome.

Jane is a mail order bride. Her father had died and to help her family she applied to become a rich mans bride. While she is traveling to her new husband by train the train is robbed. One of the robbers kissed her before they fled. When she looks out the window she spots a stallion running along side the train. Samuel is a stallion shifter he is waiting for his mail order bride. He wonders if she can handle his secrets.

You will so love this sweet, touching and charming Romance!.

It is a must read book!.

Fell short. Feels like a ku scam. Save your time.

Surprisingly good

For being so short, I actually enjoyed the story, which I didn't think I would. Sure, there were some things that needed improvement, like the writing sometimes switching from past form to now. Or how the short length of the novel compromised the details and depth to the story. For example, there were very little dialogues and instead a lot of recounting what the main character was told from people she met.

Despite all that, I found the plot and writing intriguing. Since the book was meant to be short and was for free, I can't really complain about the errors. It was simply good for what it was meant to be; a short story.

One thing that have me a bit confused is the ending, though. Did she die? Can a kind soul explain it to me?

Sorry, but I would never buy this. Cookie cutter feel. lazy execution. in my opinion lacking effort . Good thing: short.
