Worst narration ever!

What did you like best about A Bear by Blood? What did you like least?

The story was not too bad but the narrator was so bad I was having trouble finishing the book.

How could the performance have been better?

A different narrator. It sounded like they made errors while reading and left the errors in. It was so bad.

Could you see A Bear by Blood being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

I just don't understand

This is the first book I have ever given a three stars to...I wanna cry! I did not understand the concept of this story. I am sorry and I hope to read more books from this author so we can get a five stars next time.

Typo grinch

I canât get past the first line in the description. Not a fan of such blatant typos. I know things get missed, but âHe hugs are legendary, but he can do in bed, is no short of magic.â

Interdiction book!

I gave this book 3 stars for one simple reason. To short!!! Also the flash backs. I think it would have been a better book to read if it was in order. I did not know that this was a interdiction book. Just when I was getting in to it the book it just stopped!

A Twist on Peter Pan! Loved it!

Neverland Evermore by Sarah J. Pepper is book one in her Never Ever series. In this book we are introduced to a myriad of characters but the two the story focuses on are Captain James and Miss Bell. Captain James is the captain of the Jolly Roger. Heâs facing a mutiny of his crew because of a young woman that he saved from the ocean, Miss Bell. Captain James took the life of one of his crew members and the crew memberâs brother is manipulated into turning against him. Jamesâ life is threatened but not just his. Bellâs life has been threatened as well and James will do what he must to try and protect her. The crew is demanding to be taken to a cursed place but Bell is refusing. She knows what will happen. She watched it, along with James take over one of his crew and brings him low. Now it appears that both she and the captain will lose their lives trying to keep them from that place.

Neverland Evermore is the first book that I have read by Sarah J. Pepper and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Neverland Evermore is a twist on the Peter Pan story that we all have grown up knowing so well. This story is told in the alternating point of views of â Captain James and Miss Bell. Captain James takes us back in time and fills in the gaps of the story and answers the questions that will arise. Miss Bell brings us back to the present with heartbreaking moments and gripping situations. There are many familiar characters in this story from the original and all wrapped to make this story more unique and engaging than the original story itself.

As the story begins you are immediately full of questions as to what is going on. What led to the situation that is unfolding? The author does such a good job in answering most of the questions that become posed by the reader as the story unfurls. The Neverland that weâve all grown up believing is such a beautiful wonderful place is twisted into something darker and more evil along with the characters we once believed to be laughter and light.

This book drew me in right from the beginning.

Good Read

This was a good read about a young man who had a hard upbringing and he carries it with him too much. He is pretty much going to be a leader in an apocalypse type of year sometime in the future. There are two sides... evil and good each with a leader who happen to be twin brothers. Dale, the main character floats between evil and good and this is his story with a lot of romance thrown in.

Love will over come

I have not read many yet in this series, but the ones I have have not been a disappointment yet. The prologue opens you up with anticipation because of the event it contains leaving you with knowing the best is yet to come and it will have been the seed planted, what grows out of it will be something else altogether. Plus the piece Carrie keeps for herself will be more than she imagines. Roark is expected to get it together or else but there is something that keeps tugging at him, missing for a while he must have the answer to a puzzle-Jared. While moving families and others to their new home he will run into the start to his quest finally getting closure thanks to a mishap on the road. Carrie's light draws him with the reluctance in helping opening more than one door. Mates is more than either would of expected and this author gives their story with her pulling at many emotions while doing so. Heat will fuse them but justice will be her guide in if a future indeed exists. Regardless that this is paranormal in genre they still deal with issues you or I could face and would we handle it the same? Love can come in unexpected places and when secrets are revealed only love can be the key if it survives. That is what she gives you here. Delightful conclusion to what they face and outcome will be more than satisfactory.

Can love triumph murder and hate?

I was gifted this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Hate, love and murder.

Roark, a troubled wolf, has been given the job of transporting his pack from Yellowstone Park to the secret location of the Tao's pack. One night his truck broke down and he was ended up at the ranch of one of the ranchers murdering his family and pack mates.

Carrie is a rancher with a dark past and when Roark shows up at her home in the dark of the night, she reluctantly lets him stay. When Roark realizes the Carrie is his mate he is torn between his feelings and his future.

Roark is even more torn when he realizes that his best friend disappeared at that ranch.

Format: Unabridged

Length: 1 hr and 44 mins

Publisher's Summary:

Dangerously tasty

The badass dragon shifters of the Iron Claws motorcycle club will risk everything for the people they love. Cast out from their dragon clans, they must use their cunning and strength to defy the laws of their people and stay one step ahead of those determined to keep life-saving cures out of the hands of humans.

Ned is tired of being underestimated. He's a motorcycle-riding dragon shifter who kicks ass and bakes a mean cheesecake. When a mission for his biker club, the Iron Claws, leads Ned to the famously promiscuous tiger shifter clan, he finds much more than he bargained for.

Maya's a cunning tiger shifter and her clan's head of security. She has always defied her clan's sex-obsessed ways, but meeting handsome, sensitive Ned makes her question her cynical views. When Ned's club is attacked, Maya and Ned are thrown into a battle with deadly stakes. Will Maya be willing to lose all she has to save Ned?

This novella for adults includes daring rescues, drool-worthy desserts, and a love that can't be whisked away.

This standalone novella is part of the Dragon Shifter Motorcycle Club series which can be read in any order. There are no cliffhangers, and each short ends as it should: happily ever after.

Don't have to read them in order

I was given this audio book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this short story. AJ Tipton does such a great job of writing short storites. The narrator does a really good job. I don't usually like listening to male narrators, but this one is a good one. He doesn't sound like a sissy when he is reading the woman's part. Looking forward to the final book. These are always exciting reads, with some thrill, mystery and romance all wrapped in a nice little neat story.

Great book two...

This book focuses on Ned, which I liked since we didn't really get to know as much about him in book one as some of the other characters. Ned turns out to be much more complex than he seemed in book one and he has impressive self-control, and the ability to think when under pressure.

The story was amusing and fun to listen to and did not end how I expected it to, I like that.

The character voices are clear and easy to distinguish, the tone and pace of the narration was excellent.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Fast-paced MC tiger shifter-dragon shifter romance

Quick and easy to listen to, this book is actually a sweet romance between a strong warrior tiger shifter, Maya, and her sweet, nurturing dragon lover, Ned. Just because Ned is not a "tough" guy doesn't mean he isn't hot and intelligent. In fact, not all weapons come with bullets and blades. Some come in the form of cupcakes.

This is a fun series. Revolving around a dragon shifter MC, it has action, sex, romance and humour. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Title: The Alliance of Isian

With a mysterious beast attacking the kingdom, their lives in danger, and overcoming their vast cultural differences, will love grow despite their trials?

Members Reviews:

Good sequel.

This second edition of The Isian Series sees the focus on Princess Gabrielle of Isian and Prince Alec of Tandori, The Tandori and Isian Kingdoms have been sworn enemies for decades but have decided to make an alliance by marrying Gabrielle and Alec. Gabrielle comes from a different culture and doesn't like Alec because of his wonanising ways. She has no choice but to marry him and does so with trepidation.

This second edition in the series was a little better than the first, in that the characters were more likable. Despite Alecs womanising ways, I found him to be incredibly charming. I loved how he was with his lessers and how he always did the best for his subjects. He despises magic because he has seen what it can do on a battlefield, but he is willing to listen to Gabrielle about magic because he respects her. Gabrielle was also a lot stronger character than Elani. I liked that it took a while for her to trust Alec.

The plot was a little more fast paced than book 1 too, though still not at adventurous as I hoped. War is brewing and I felt like there needed to be more tension and action than there was. But other than that, this was a great second book.

In all, this was a sweet story. Seeing Gabrielle and Alec learn to trust and respect each other was heartwarming. If you enjoy a sweet romance, then this is the story for you.

I'm going to stick with what I said about the narrator in book 1.. Carolyn Kashner was clear and read this well. Her tones and vices were adequate and she did put effort into the narration, but I felt like her male voices were all the same and she needed to put a little more emphasis to her inflections to really capture the mood. I'm hoping she might pick up a bit over time!!

I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Solid Fantasy Sequel

This is the second book in the Isian series, and it continues the story of the struggles of the kingdoms to unite before an inevitable war. Young Isian princess Gabrielle has been groomed all her life to marry a noble to consolidate power. She never expected that man to be Prince Alec of Tandori, one of Isian's mortal enemies. After meeting Alec six years ago, she formed an impression of him as a vulgar drunken womanizer. Alec has never even seen her face behind the veil young Isian women wear. Neither of them know the other, but in order to provide an example to their people to unite, they need to learn to work together. Complicating matters, someone seems to want Gabrielle dead.

I enjoyed this book, it's written at a slower pace that takes more time with the characters and we learn more about the Isian people.

Great story after a slow start

This was a sweet romance story after a slow start. All the back story in the beginning was a lot to get through in an audio version. Once you got past that it was a great story. As a reader I loved the character interactions. The characters were well developed and the shifter world was fabulous. Looking forward to listening to another story in this series.

The narrator was not my favorite although he got better as the story progressed too. He seemed to be reading rather slow at the start of the book.
