Dr. Gerald Onuoha is a native of Huntsville, AL. He moved to Nashville in 2003 to attend Tennessee State University (TSU) where he received his Bachelors in Physics and Astronomy.

Coming from an environment where resources were not readily available to assist young people advance their lives and having overcome these, Gerald was motivated to start a non-profit organization, after graduating from TSU.

Project DReam was born out of the desire to increase the number of disadvantaged youths, specifically African-Americans, that enter the health care sciences and other health-related professions and cultivate an environment of cultural excellence while encouraging academic prowess.

In 2014, Gerald earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Meharry Medical College where he also started community initiatives while serving as President of the Meharry student body and a member of the Board of Trustees. EVR’s mission is to Eradicate Racism by providing awareness, education, and resources to communities, organizations, and businesses in the private and public sector about social injustices, systematic racism, and equal opportunities for EVERYBODY.

If you were to ask Gerald “What Matters Most” he would say, “My faith in God. It has been all I’ve had to lean on up until this point.” From having hard times growing up, dropping out of high school to graduating from college, and then becoming a doctor, Dr. Onuoha has a firm belief and faith in a God-given purpose which he works to fulfill, every day.
