One day, I found myself putting together this show, and it was inevitably shaped by the election result. So it is here, and again I find the words of Baldwin resonate and shine in the darkness.

When Punk commenced around new york and CBGB’s – the times were ripe for such an explosion. Richard Hell was one of the proto punks, and we start this show with his anthem. It feels like the time is ripe for something akin to Punk, because these dark times need to be utterly rejected in same way. GSYBE, have been doing that for years, bringing some righteous rage for this world and we end with a vinyl only selection from them.

Caleb Femi – with the great line from one of his poems where a resident talks of a home with this line ‘on the 19th floor you can see everything but the future’ gets quoted at the start of this show. We also have the great lyrics of the Go-Betweens to look out for, and then we are in the flow of the river which leads to dancing in a sapphic bar.

Apologies for no shows for such a long time, I been busy. So now, 9 songs – for the post groovefest show, which finds us tired but full of the joys of communal dancing. So its low tempo, for the most part, and I have the pleasure of playing the whole of Macho City, by the Steve Miller band. We end with Electrelane, a group I’d forgotten about until a friend reminded me that Steve Albini did the ‘engineering’ on that album.

Inconceivable, that I would leave you a month without a show, but that’s what happened, I quit my job and got sick, and it was a crazy time. But I’m getting better, and I’ve put together a show, which I hope you’ll enjoy. The Nils Frahm special track will be in next episode, I promise. In the meantime, let’s get back to the raison d’être, a hour of good music for you, for your head, for your self-care.

Sunshowers, and then the sun goes. These are the tunes that I put together, and when I saw the northern lights, I stood out and awaited the aliens to take me. It didn’t happen, so you’re stuck with me for the foreseeable…. The aliens came and took Steve Albini.
