Purpose by Design is so excited to introduce to you Reverend Jim Hockaday - he starts out powerfully speaking about his past sharing he grew up in denominational thinking. Everything changed after college, when Jim got into some music groups where he traveled around the country.

What are you praying about? Sure, we pray for better cars, houses and jobs. Things we pray for in the spirit, Reverend Jim says those prayers were certainly answered. He talks about that in depth and gives so much knowledge. We don’t need to be right all the time, why argue about being right if we aren’t sure if we actually are.

Reverend Hockaday is like anyone else, he gets competitive playing a wicked game of Jenga or playing a sports game. What ended up knocking the fire out of him was Healing School. He learned that our prayers absolutely should be able to move everyone in the right posture. The church business is the only business who can fail miserably and still keep the doors open. He got this mentality by being honest with himself rather than just running numbers and seeing success by numbers. He asks the bigger questions - “Oh God, Please help me because I’m not being successful.” Successful not in the sense of being on TV - he means people aren’t getting healed even though they’re praying for it. There’s certain principles you begin to recognize that propel you forward.

He shares a powerful story of a nurse who had cancer and when asked does she think God will heal her - she said “I don’t know.” The reason she said this was because everything up until now she had failed. She was prayed over by Jim and she knew she was healed. 10 days later the oncology department told her she was cancer-free.

This is a powerful interview, and a life-changing mentality shift if you’ll let it. It teaches a perspective shift, that with God we can do ANYTHING. It’s not a mind game, it's a value-game. What value do you give disease versus God?

Purpose by Design welcomes my friend Ryan Hodge, owner of THE REALTY FIRM: a real estate company he co-owns with a partner. He is a true entrepreneur who has quite the story to tell and motivate. He is also a coach, and owns a coaching real-estate company called RYAN HODGE COACHING AND CONSULTING Inc.

Ryan shares how he grew up in Ontario, Canada and lives there now. He graduated from high-school and college there to which he graduated from both. He worked in the corporate world for a decade before getting into real-estate which came naturally to him. He switched careers because he was motivated to do better by and for his family. Ever been there?

He starts us off talking about the  law of purpose. It is a linear path that requires us to make specific choices to  understand and unlock our purpose. He explains how it requires us to go back to our roots to eventually understand our past, and understand why we are programmed the way that we are. When we can understand those circumstances that made us how we are, it allows us to unlock some of that past and purpose and move forward in fulfilling us at a higher level.

He talks about the spiritual aspect of feeling fulfilled and how we need to serve ourselves first - that it takes helping ourselves first - so we can help and be present for the others that we love. Ryan talks about ritualistic habits that help everything else fall into place, which comes down to simple small choices. Every choice leads to an outcome, and every outcome rather negative or positive will teach us to learn, grow and expand further.

Mr. Hodge explains how we can change bad habits by taking responsibility for our actions and analyzing what cycle we are in, and then making changes to move out of those bad routines. You will never be stuck even if you feel stuck because if you switch your small choices up, and make new habits - you will be on a linear path marching into your future and purpose.

Ryan talks about the importance to pat yourself on the back in the moments of small victories because celebration is healthy and needed to continue focus. Finally, he talks about accountability is absolutely crucial for growth rather it be business, or your personal life so you can ascend with your accountability partner(s).

Purpose by Design welcomes Lilian Okech - a child of the Lord, a mentor, speaker, author, entrepreneur and so much more. She inspires and encourages women to design a whole new life for themselves.

Many will be able to relate to Lilian, as she can reach so many in  similar situations. Lilian was in a bad relationship for 10 years, and came across Mr. Les Brown's teaching. Lilian would listen a lot, so much she called him “Uncle Les”. One day she heard him talk about living with someone or dying with someone - and that resonated with her. She gives Les a lot of credit and said he may have saved her life!

She was so lost in that relationship, with no job and no light at the end of the tunnel (seemingly). She asked God what to do and cried out to him. She gained strength and ended that tumultuous relationship after moving to America from Uganda. God brought her from Sudan, to Uganda, to America. When she left a refugee camp, she was 15 years old when she arrived in America. She knew no English. She learned the ABC’s and got basic education as a teenager. You can imagine the disbelief when she arrived - bathrooms are indoors, free-flowing clean water anywhere you turn. We Americans are blessed.

She was depressed and started to take pain pills to get rid of the pain. What she did not know is that she was overdosing accidently. It was around that time that Lilian broke up with her partner and everything started to change.  Eventually she joined Les Brown's,Power Voice Academy . Lilian then joined Jon Talarico’s ‘Thinking into Results’ Program.  Her life has never been the same!

Lilian has since started her own business with her current husband - that is a community outreach effort. Her goal is to help build internet cafés for local schools to help the local population, and increase their knowledge with computers, the internet, computer training and to connect to the World Wide Web.  She wants to die empty, she does not want the cemetery to take anything. She does not take it for granted being in America and counts it as a huge blessing to do God’s work here.

She encourages people to better themselves, and give into God’s amazing plan for your life! A year and two months since choosing to make changes in her life, Lilian is a best-selling author for two times now, and speaks fantastic English. God has such a big plan for your life - listen and seek Him.

Purpose by Design is so excited to introduce to you Dr. Shauli Mukherjee - an Indian native who is a director at Adamas University, a global thought leader and inspirational speaker. Her passion is education, where she’s worked for 23 years. She talks about the way things are old or backwards when it comes to education and the habits of teaching our kids the wrong things like competition instead of a collaborative mindset. She says the education system is at fault for a lot of these tendencies, as well as it is one of the few things that has not evolved like everything else. She also touches on intelligence versus emotion and how both are needed to be a productive member of society.

Dr. Shauli challenges the education system as it is today and pushes a new way of learning:  STEM - a system that is about looking at and educating the whole person. It’s not just about getting textbook facts in the head. If we don’t know how to appropriate it - it does not drop down to who we are and it doesn’t change us then we continue with the same results - here we are in the century we are living in and the education is ancient. She talks about how schools will teach subjects separately and who's to say that you can’t teach history through music and drama? We can learn literature through movies and theater - it depends on a teacher’s creativity and how they amalgamate subjects to make sense to the kids.

She touches on how some kids just learn differently - our children do not require fixing - the only proper fixing is our old mindset - and we need to change the way we teach our kids. We should be celebrating our kids’ hard work when they put the effort in because it is teaching work ethic and grit. It is important that we focus on what is happening on the inside of our kids and not the outside. We need to focus on emotion, spirituality, social, adversity and not intelligence. Are we teaching our children how to deal with life, with a proper mindset or are we just shoving facts down their throats?

We need to be “in the now” - this is the most powerful moment. What you are creating right now is super powerful. Or are we teaching them to be stressed through our actions? We need to leave that worried zone - critical thinking is the ability to think in a very sane way. It means to think what is necessary and not let emotion get in the way. We were an idea in God, and now we are here with a purpose to fulfill.

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Andi Anderson - born in Columbus, Georgia and moved to Atlanta when she was 9 years of age. She is a serial prenuer, impact speaker, business owner, author and believer of the most High. After highschool she found her 29 year career in the dental field.

She goes by Andi, a name that she chose because she had finally broken the spell by being hurt or quiet by her oppressor - her father…nicknamed Andi (what he went by). She was abused by her father through her childhood and at the young age of 14, God helped her understand compassion and forgiveness. She forgave her father and mother for what happened to her and soon after she felt God kept referring to her as Andi. Now whenever she hears it, she feels strength instead of hurt.

For years she walked around forgiving, but she would go from 0 to 1000 real quick. She is still learning to navigate from her triggers. God allowed her to challenge her forgiveness truthfully by certain things that would happen. God showed her a higher vision, that she came to a place where she could look at her mother and daughter through God’s eyes and not her own to be able to really forgive and understand that when people are broken, they hurt people. When we are the victim, we can become broken, and it can be a domino-affect. God is higher than all of this, and has shown Andi to see the potential of a different future. Her father would later come to ask for forgiveness.

Andi goes on to tell us how she got connected with the amazing Les Brown. At age 14 she knew his voice already. At age 19, God wanted Andi to speak. Years later, it is 2019 - she is tired, been at her job forever, and Jon Talarico pops up in her email about a summit. She borrowed some money, she joined his class and shared her story about Les Brown and he told her she’ll get to be with Les every Wednesday. At that Summit, Les said if you don’t speak someone could lose their life. Fast forward and she is writing a book that Les Brown forwarded for her. Look how God works! Andi shares how if we have a dream we need to move on it, no matter what. If we have the will, God will find a way to get the funds to work.

No matter what you go through, put a smile on your face because you never know what someone else is going through. She shares an impactful moment where she felt the Holy Spirit telling her to smile at a man - he went on to look shocked. He told her that he was going to commit suicide that day if he wasn’t acknowledged. He promised her he would not hurt himself and that’s all he needed.

Purpose by Design is stoked to introduce to you: Dr. Angie Gray - a powerhouse woman of God. She is an author, wife, mother of 4 daughters, entreprenuer, inspirational speaker and so much more.

Dr. Angie encourages us to lean into the Lord, and know that we are called to his kingdom and an opportunity to glorify his name even in the storm. Our lovely Guest  tells us that when a problem comes - instead of looking at it as a negative, we can flip it over and thank God for an opportunity to see him move!

Dr. Angie went through something insane - right after losing multiple people close to her. A medical situation turned dire quickly last year where our guest found herself fighting for her life. She contracted legionnaires disease - her husband saw she became increasingly ill and rushed her to the hospital. She was on the brink of life or death - and when the doctor asked her she gave a firm “Do Not Be Resuscitated” and even emailed him to make sure he knew her decision…she was hard-pressed. She took a look at her doctor after some time who had a tear falling down her face and Dr. Angie heard the Lord tell her that her time was not over. Amazingly, the doctor came back a second time and Dr. Angie was able to share that she was choosing to live. Dr. Angie later came to find out that The Women of the Power Voice Book came together to pray for Dr. Angie and lift her up - How amazing! She talks about how she thought she knew purpose until this experience - and how we all will learn perspective as things change in our lives.

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Linda Ellison - a woman who holds so many titles: believer, wife,career-mom, grandmother, motivational speaker, author etc.  What is most important to her is the Lord and family - to the point she put herself on the backburner when she became married and had kids.

Linda is the definition of persistence, as life through some curveballs. She started in nursing and got married and had kids before she was done with her school. She transitioned to pharmacy and now works on the mental health side. God had a different plan for her clearly - now she’s thriving where God wants her to be. Linda went all the way around the path on this journey, and maybe isn’t the path she would have chosen, but she has gratitude for everything good and bad that has happened.

Linda was used to where life was at and God put it on her heart to go back to nursing school. Just a little while later she is speaking on stage with Les Brown!  Linda shares how surreal it was to be on screen with him and share her story - what an incredible experience! Linda talks about having already written her speech out as if she knew she would be on the summit - and God showed up!

Daliesha heard her supervisor one day talking about Les Brown, the legendary speaker and up until then she hadn’t followed him or knew much about him. She was convinced from the way her superior talked about him, and she did some due diligence and searched him.  She decided to type in “Yes!” to a Les Brown offer.

Our lovely guest was willing to go ask for help and borrow money from her dad, and she was willing to make the investment, show up, put her hand up and speak at a summit with Les Brown which he described as a “mic-drop” moment. Don’t ever let doubt cloud your future - look at Daliesha and where she is at today. Listen to God’s subtle voice!

Ms. Murray delves into her backstory and what brought her to where she is today. She came from a very different background before she was a power-house. She was timid, and had self-love issues. She recalls looking in the mirror and just seeing pain - tears rolling down her face asking herself, “Why am I here?”

This was caused by damaging words, and she touches on how we need to hold our tongues and choose to speak life. When we are wronged, we need to understand that hurt people hurt people. It often has nothing to do with us, but of the accuser.

She’s been speaking for almost 10 years as well as coaching. She started her first business nearly a decade ago with the vision to help millions of people transform their lives through helping them unveil their story about themselves as sometimes it's hard to see your whole picture from the frame point-of-view.

Kelisha wasn’t the most proud of her grades, she felt rejected in school and she ended up meeting face to face Les Brown. She chose to stop surrendering to fear, and to charge through it in strength. Kelisha talks about when we receive a blessing, we need to be able to keep it! We need to be aware, with understanding.

Kelisha met her mentor Barry Overton at that first speaking engagement. She speaks that you may miss opportunities if you are not staying true to who you are - as that is going to keep coming around. That is probably the thing that you are called to do! Kelisha talks about how she learned that you can’t have success without pain. She talks about how people surrender to fear and don’t do what they are called to do - they live a settled life. We are always going to have a new level of “you” and that committee (small voice) telling you that you can’t do it and we will start feeling fearful. In that moment- we can make a choice in that moment to press through it (facing the fear and having courage) and if you face it and press through - you will embrace all kinds of greatness.  Kelisha came to a point where she realized that everything she had gone through that was painful was for a reason, and that they were building blocks to where she was going. She came to a strong realization that our outer world does not determine our inner world.

Lastly, Kelisha blesses us with wisdom talking about how showing up and pushing through is half the battle. She teaches that we embrace the thoughts or vibes someone puts our way - and only we can decide if we are going to be angry or happy or if something is going to affect us.

Purpose by Design is so excited to introduce Lisa Yvette Jones - a woman of the Lord, a John Maxwell certified coach and speaker, as well as best-selling author. She has worked for the government for 3 decades now, and has a passion for leadership - which started when she was the second eldest of seven total kids.

Lisa is a cancer-overcomer, and speaks on how faith was crucial to get through it. She talks about how she had peace without understanding as she was told she needed to schedule a surgery for an extremely vicious rare surgery. She had a tough time, and no matter what the doctors said - she trusted God for the outcome. It was a supernatural peace.

She told her doctor that she was not going to have the surgery until June 29, and until then she wanted her doctor to speak words of faith with her. She talks about her battle with cancer and how she defeated it, and how chemotherapy was a struggle but her doctor worked with her. She talked about how she wouldn’t give in to her pain, and give in to what the Devil was trying to do to her psyche.

Lisa talks about an encounter in a salon where she had some women who would seem like angels who spoke encouragement to her and spoke life into her.

She talks about getting certified with John Maxwell, and getting in Les Brown’s course. God put her in all these positions in life that she had never imagined, like speaking on stage with Les at a summit. She went through the Power-Voice, joined Les on stage, then continued with Jon Talarico’s class on a positive mentality. She speaks on being in the anthology ‘Women of the Power Voice’ where she shares her amazing testimony.

Lastly, Lisa speaks on releasing over 200 pounds and keeping the weight off, and choosing a different diet than what she was used to. She offers for anyone to reach out for a complementary meeting for any leaders out there who are struggling.
