Purpose by Design is honored to introduce ANGELA BENNETT - a best-selling author and co-author of ‘Women of the Power Voice’. She is a mother of 5 children, a resident of Sydney, Australia, speaker, and transformation coach.

Angela has such a powerful testimony of the goodness of the Lord, and this interview is sure to bless so many who are dealing or have dealt with domestic-abuse. She was a victim of that type of a relationship for a long time, and one day she came close to death. She and her former partner were in a heated moment, and he started choking Angela. She said this is the one time she audibly heard God’s voice tell her to give him a certain look, and once she did that he let go.

In time she left, and shared how she felt that God was forever with her and helping her in that difficult time. She explains that God is always chasing us and loving us and showing us mercy, grace and love. There is NOTHING we can do to make God turn his back on us. You can’t go too far with God. Angela talks about the importance of doing the internal work, the nitty-gritty that allows for change. We have a choice and the “easy” route is not the way to go as nothing will change.

Though she was out of that relationship, she had her first child and postnatal depression soon followed. She was struggling with mental illness and pressure, and tried taking her life 3 times. This amounts to 4 times that God saved Angela’s life because Angela has a purpose - to let her difficult testimony touch your life.

In 2013, Angela told herself that she was going to speak on stage with Les Brown one day and work with him. Now, Angela has one-on-one sessions with Les regularly. How amazing is that?!

Even if you are in the trenches fighting daily to live another day or wishing life was easier or trying to figure out why you are in such a difficult situation - trust the Lord that he has you, is here for you, and will get you through it.

She talks about joining Les Brown’s class and how she came in and hid. During Power Voice class with Mr. Les Brown Dalia would be nervous to share her story, and how that changed with a mindset shift. She realized she has a story to tell and a motivating one! Dalia is now empowered to help people bring out their power voice as we all have something valuable to help someone else.

Dalia says it is important to not hold onto things holding us down, when Life or God wants us to empower and release the illusion of what the world has told you, or the false beliefs about yourself that you have believed for so long.

She gives such wisdom on giving thanks to God even though he does not deliver exactly how you would have expected. She says to listen to that still small voice that is speaking to you, and act on it - “Come and join the nut club and if you don’t like it go back to your sofa!” as Dalia put it, and do not give up on yourself! Ms Ganzel talks about when a person goes numb, when a person is not asking themselves questions anymore, they are losing life as they have stepped out of the game.

Dalia talks about how when people are on their deathbed, it is not what they did that they regret, it’s what they did not do. Dalia closes with telling us to act immediately when we hear that voice, don’t talk yourself out of it - just do it.

Purpose by Design is honored to introduce Donato Perricci, my long-time friend with many titles - he is a pastor, husband, child of the Lord, father, IT specialist and so much more. Donato has much wisdom in today’s podcast so please listen up and be ready to be rocked!

He talks about when life gets you down, you get to choose the cards to a degree that you play. He had many things challenge him through life and Donato could have let those things make him bitter and jaded and mold him into a very different person. Instead, he let God renew him and let it be part of his testimony. He shares that mindset is everything when it comes to dealing with life.

Donato shares with us some troubles he had in his childhood when his parents got divorced when he was young. He talks about how he has had the Call of God in his life for much of it - once he knew the Lord, Donato was changed forever. He talks about how it is a lifelong commitment. Knowing Christ can and will shift you into a very different person than who you could be.

He talks about what led him to be lead pastor at a local church here in Minnesota, where he was a youth pastor (for all of my kids), and helping out at church in various leadership roles. Donato opens up about how he met his lovely wife and how they’ve been successfully married for 10 years now. They met a long time ago at camp and he knew she was the one…however it wasn’t for quite some span of time before they reconnected after then came into each-other’s lives.

God brought a lot of what was lost in Donato’s life… brought 3 wonderful kids to him through marriage.  He got fantastic in-laws to the point he calls his mother-in-law: “mom”. Finally he is loving being a grandparent.

Donato talks about DNP Designs, he and his wife’s entrepreneurship endeavor. They own a website design company that helps with blogs, social media, advertisement, IT help - the whole nine yards.

Finally, Donato talks about how his church transitioned online and how now anyone can watch and learn of the Lord. He talks about the importance of being fed, and to continually seek after God.

Purpose by Design welcomes my friend and best-selling author Kathy White who holds many titles. She is a funologist, a mindset mentor, an author, and owns a virtual reality company. She lives in Utah and loves to go snowshoeing and hiking the Utah mountains.

She talks about living at a Happiness-level Frequency which naturally brings more abundance into your life. It is important to find our lost voice and bring it to the surface.

She explains when you are having trouble going through stuff how wrong it is to feel like you cannot go to counseling due to outside pressure or opinions. Her former husband had some personal issues that led to him attempting to take his life. She explains how draining it was when she would have to drag him up to a good frequency where he was ok to be her husband and her kids’ dad. This was the beginning of falling out of love with him. A couple years later - she filed for divorce as enough was enough. She met her now husband Jeff a bit later and is so incredibly happy. She talks about how God wants us to be happy and how life is not supposed to just be okay. He wants to prosper us.

She talked about how she stayed in a marriage for so long due to believing that God was going to be so angry at her for separating from an emotionally abusive relationship as well as her mother who stayed in a suffering marriage for so long.

She found out that Mike got the counseling he needed after she left him, as she found she was enabling his toxic dependency on her. Essentially and very probably - their divorce may have saved Mike’s life.

Kathy talks about her part in Women of the Power Voice which catapulted her into a new life that she did not know was possible. She is so excited to share her story with you and the world.

Almost two years ago I had the honor of interviewing these ladies for a Purpose by Design Series on Adoption Awareness.💫 We pulled this episode out of the vault🔏 and it is one of my absolute favorites. 🤗 Some life details need to be updated like… They have all moved in the past 2 years.  Sandy to her own place.  Donato is now the Senior Pastor with Nichol by his side, still at Victory Celebration. Nichol’s journey to find her biological family at least on her dad’s side and has a trip planned in April to meet several of them. Nichol has worked the last few years with myself to help grow her platform and audience. We are both so excited for what is ahead for Purpose by Design. Nichol and her husband have also started a Design business, DNP Designs in which Nichol has expanded her wealth of knowledge and expertise. They have also added another Grand to the mix :)

But the theme of “Family” is still the same.

Deidra has been dealt a lot in life that could have caused her to be bitter but she has allowed those lemons to be made into lemonade.She is a transformational life coach, International Best Selling Author, trainer, and suicide interventionalist. Plus, she has an infectious laugh.

Deidre takes us on a journey surroinding her adoption story and how that molded her into who she is today.  Amazing!

Today is a serious topic: suicide prevention. It’s truly a helpful, knowledgeable interview that everyone needs to hear so they can be aware of what to do if they ever are in this predicament. She shares how someone close to her tried taking their life many times and that is what got her into being an interventionist.

Deidre goes into detail on how to navigate a situation when someone is “up on a ledge” and how to talk them down, as well as how to navigate someone perhaps thinking about it. She gives huge gold nuggets on this very critical topic and we need to spread the word. She spreads awareness around if someone is starting to give away things that are important to them, maybe making arrangements for their pets - please ask them questions, and watch them because that is a tell-tale sign. She gives insight about saying someone committed suicide as comitted implies criminal activity. Think about that for a minute. This is just touching the surface - you’ll need to listen to hear all of the incremental details.

This is a powerful episode. Please make sure you carve out  time it .

Purpose by Design welcomes Stephon Leary - a child of the Lord, a mentor, speaker, author and so much more. He is so motivating and has a powerful testimony to share.

Stephon had a tremendous situation happen at the age of 17 - he was adopted by a white family (he compares to the Blind Side) - which did change his life indefinitely.

For many years until 2020, he always lived like he was a black man adopted by a white family. When the Corona virus hit - it all changed. He shares a bit about his rough childhood that had domestic abuse on a normal basis, until his mother grabbed him and his siblings ran away to Houston, Texas to start a new life.

Stephon revisits how he and his siblings would come home during the school day and go back to bed until their mother was threatened with jail time if they don’t attend. As life went on, all of his siblings dropped out of school using substances daily. Stephon chose to stay in school, and go a different route. He started playing sports and got noticed fast. He had an attitude however.

He had a humbling and quite painful moment when there was an MVP award up for grabs and he got turned down saying his character didn’t fit the award. See, Stephon thought it was about fighting your way to the top no matter what it took.

God lined things up where Stephon had the opportunity to go to a Christian school, where his adopted mother who worked at the school told Stephon that God put him in her heart and said he has a place to stay if he goes to that school. He was welcomed with open arms and he was a part of that family, and was going to a solid school. The love he got from that family showed him God’s love and broke the curse.

Stephon’s message is to bring out and tap into the greatness inside of you because you do have it, and can do so much in your life. He encourages that we are built to last through tough times, go through seasons in our lives. God is there through it all.

You are strong enough to go through it. He explains the most in-depth Lion King analysis you will ever hear of Rafiki talking to Simba, telling him to look deeper at his reflection, and how his father lives in him even though physically gone. Does this sound like our God a bit? Something you surely will want to hear!

She was having a baby, she was starting a business and she could not control herself, nor did she know how to deal with her issues. She was living a life of depression, how lack of sleep pushed her over the edge to the point she needed to be hospitalized.  She goes into depth about how one of the times she was at the hospital, she explains how though her eyes were open, she only saw black. There was nothing she could see but pitch-black. She knew she was in a body-bag. When a man unzipped the bag, saw she was alive he took Vanessa where she needed to go. Next thing -  Vanessa woke up in a hospital bed. She believes that the man who unzipped the body bag was  an encounter with an angel - something she will never forget.  Vanessa goes into more details in the International  Best Seller book, ‘Women of the Power Voice’ (in the Links Section) - where you can read all about it.     

She talks about the importance of immersing yourself in Scripture, and talking to God about everything in your life. Vanessa shares how she always aspired to be a speaker, and at a pivotal point in her life, it all came to the surface and she realized she needed to take action once she came across Mr. Les Brown, the one and only.  Story, Vision, and Voice - she talks about what these three powerful words mean to her.    Vanessa shares how it was hard to get her story out for a while based on her own perception of herself, and how paradigm shifts MATTER. Let God take your story, and touch people’s lives. Surrender to who you will become. She talks about surrendering to your future self, and owning that person and being that person and trusting God through the process. Vanessa shares her vision  about her upcoming documentary Zion’s Cry: Return of the Remnant. She will be interviewing people of spiritual awakening during the time of the pandemic, share about her first trip back to Ghana, and so much more.
