This week we'll be revisiting our interview with Dr. Rod Gardner while Casey is out on vacation!

In this week's episode, Casey Scott and Dr. Matt Woolley are joined by Dr. Rod Gardner, DDS, to discuss how he began to experience anxiety at a very young age and how it led to him being self-conscious about himself growing up. Rod also recalls the first time he tried alcohol and how he immediately felt like it would fix his anxiety.

Then he talks about having his first child with his wife and his decision to become a dentist. Rod also describes how his anxiety began to flare up during graduate school.

Rod also talks about writing his own prescriptions and how he began to abuse prescription pills. We also talk about his stints in rehab and how Rod immediately went back to his addiction.

We also dive into his time in prison and jail after being charged with multiple felonies and how he was able to find his peace at his rock bottom.

Lastly, Rod discusses the steps he's taken to stay sober since overcoming his addiction and what it felt like to get his dental license back.
